    Tuesday Morning Links

Well we made it through the beginning of the week unscathed.  Most of us, anyway. St Mary’s College didn’t, as they got drilled by BYU in their conference semifinal.  I remember not too long ago when that would be the death knell for a WCC school. Now they’ll probably go in as a 6 seed and BYU might have played themselves back into the tourney.  They’ll face Gonzaga tonight, though.  Iona punched their ticket. SoDak State beat NoDak State. They’ll face U SoDak in a winner-take-a-trip-to-the-NCAA-tourney game tonight.  Lots of other games, but the finals mostly get started tonight, so that’s all the update you’re getting.

A quick note that Man United were lucky as hell yesterday. And then on to the hockey results: the Penguins extinguished the Flames in OT. The Sabres cut through the Maple Leafs to win 5-3. The Stars weren’t shining against the Senators. The Oilers were slick enough to down the Coyotes. And the Canucks beat the Islanders in a game where punny descriptions are hard to come by.

Is there anything else you guys are looking for a daily update on?  If so, let me know in the comments and I’ll work on it (maybe). Until then, this is all you’re getting.  I’ll get the March Madness thing rolling in a day or two, so tune in to the links every day for a chance to win (the equivalent of) 10,000 (Zimbabwean) dollars!!!!

And without any further delay, I now present to you…the links!

How to raise your child to not be a bully. Or how to get a busybody asshole to call CPS on you for being a big meanie.  Either way, I think this guy is teaching his son a valuable lesson about actions and consequences. Or he’s training the next Steve Prefontaine. You decide.

Run for your lives! Its an inanimate object incapable of doing damage on its own a ghost gun!!!

Well, Slate manages to report on the least surprising development in the wake of the latest gun-grabbing crusade. I hope all of the grabbers realize this will only ramp up as they become more and more vocal in their desire to take our right to self-defense on our own terms away.

Third verse, same as the first.  Anybody taking this seriously hasn’t been around since that wacky family first came to power and started making promises and offers in order to get free shit from everyone around them only to renege every. single. time.

Jesus, what a bunch of pussies. Go get an aluminum bat and/or some steel-shafted 3 woods and you will solve your own problem…assuming its not against the law to get rid of nuisance animals on private property in California anymore.

Drew says the hospital has been working with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a year, taking suggestions from the agencies on how to humanely clear the birds, including using a turkey repellent recommended by Contra Costa County Animal Control. But the turkeys keep coming back.

“They’ve aggressively walked towards patients,” he added. “We’ve tried to deal with this, and we’re at the point where they need to be trapped and removed. We need to put our patients and staff first.”

NorCal has gone to the birds.

    LOL…pussies.

So he basically stole $90,000. He’s one of the King’s Men. There’s probably nothing you can do about it. Bonus points for letting a municipal employee take five years off on a leave of absence to set up his private company. I know it typically doesn’t go over well when, in the private sector, you tell your boss you want to take several years off to set up a competing firm and that you’ll be back to your job at some point in time (which he never did even go back to) in case your venture fails.  Ain’t pubsec unions grand?

I guess the thought of taking their business elsewhere never occurred to these dimwitted assclowns. Or perhaps that different group of people with similar modes of transportation, although with seriously different riding habits, require different traffic-control needs. Nah, its gotta be racism.

Well thank God the city stepped in to solve this crisis. Now those trees can stay warm during the next snowfall.  ::SMDH::

A great, rocking song from start to finish.  Enjoy!

Well, that’s it for the links. Get out there and have a great day, friends!

  • Monday Morning Links

    Monday Morning Links

I had a pretty rough weekend. Hope yours was better.

Well we’re down to Championship Week in college basketball, prepared to run through two of the greatest weeks in a single sport. Unfortunately it got off to a horrible start as Michigan won the Big Ten tournament after running through Michigan State and Purdue in back-to-back days.  Congratulations…we still own you in football. (As evidenced by the skunk weasels latest recruiting strategy.) Pathetic.

Michigan’s new recruiting strategy: list Ohio State rookie NFL starters.

Elsewhere, Cincy took care of Wichita State. Duke put a beat down on UNC. Auburn won the SEC season crown. And Xavier and Villanova are headed toward a Big East collision.  Enjoy the week and next one as well.  Perhaps we will be resurrecting the March Madness Pick-em for the Glibs.  And by “perhaps”, I mean we absolutely will.  Anonymity guaranteed, except for me knowing emails when you register for it.  I’ll have the link up in the next couple of days to get registered. A good time will be had bye all, and you could win a little sweet Glibs swag.

On the ice, the winners were the Panthers, Predators, Army/Vegas, the Mighty Ducks (sorry Blackhawks, its over), Winnepeg, Columbus and the MINNESOOOOOOOOOOODA WIIIIIIIILD! And if you’re wondering why I do that, I have no idea. Perhaps because the Minnesodan contingent here is so passionate about hockey, I want to give them a little extra love.  Who knows.

In the EPL, Burnley beat Everton (lol), Leicester drew Bournemouth, Stoke did the same with Southampton, Swansea rolled over West Ham, Spurs won, Watford won, Liverpool wore out Newcastle and beat Rafa for the first time since he left. And then on Sunday, Brighton beat Arsenal (and the world laughed and laughed and laughed), and Man City pretty much embarrassed Chelski. Manure play today and will hopefully lose and Liverpool will sit in second, even though they should be there anyway after the refs stole two points from them vs Spurs.

No Bundesliga or Spanish results. But a special nod to Florence, where the captain of Fiorentina, Davide Astori, died suddenly from cardiac arrest over the weekend ahead of their match.  Totally shocking and extremely sad. The city have declared a day of mourning.

I’m sure there’s other stuff to talk about, with the combine and all that.  But we only have so much space and I only have so much time to get it all in before the natives (you) start getting restless. So I’m moving on into…the links!

Patel and the 16-year old Maroney

Even for Democrat politician wannabes, what you write on the internet lasts forever. You’ve got to reach the top before you can effectively memory-hole (or ignore) what was written int he past. Also, they should say he wrote them to a female “friend” rather than friend. Because a real friend wouldn’t sell him out for a little political expediency.

Well, he’s persistent. There are so many government benefit scammers out there on both sides of the immigration debate. Perhaps we need to revamp the whole system to weed out the fraud* so this kind of shit doesn’t happen.

*I know it should be abolished completely, but I’m being realistic here.

Eric Holder, who was held in contempt of congress for obstructing justice by refusing to hand over evidence in their oversight investigation of the gun running into Mexico plan he helmed, predicts that Trump will be charged with obstruction of justice by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. The obstruction? Firing a couple of appointee-level positions which he’s free to fire someone from for any or no reason at all according to precedent.

One off the last fiscally sane Democrats speaks some sense in Chicago. Obviously it didn’t go over well. I mean, how can a fiscal conservative and foe of abortion have a place in today’s Democrat party?  Well, he is about to be drummed out anyway, if there Team Blue brass has anything to say about it.

Something-something…put your daughter to the test.

See if you can guess which state this happened in before clicking: Man and daughter arrested for incest after being spotted having sex in the back yard.

No good deed goes unpunished. I’m going to go way out on a limb here and say that I bet alcohol was involved.

And last but not least, the reactions to this tweet might be the greatest thing the internet has ever brought us in response to Brooklynites thinking they make everything better than everyone else.  Stick to penny-farthing races and rooftop beekeeping festivals and leave this to the experts, kthxbai.

The video is worthwhile just to watch the lanky geek with the bass act like he’s rocking the fuck out. Epic.

Go get the week off on the right foot.  That’s what I’m gonna try to do.

  • Friday Morning Links

    Friday Morning Links

Thank God its Friday.  And the first round of golf I will have gotten to play in some time.  Well, that’s the plan anyway.  It may not happen now that I’m a little short-staffed at the auction yard after the yard guy I’d hired as a favor to my friend decided to get good and drunk on the job yesterday to the point that he embarrassed me in front of a customer I was loading out and then decided to take a 45 minute nap until I woke him enough to forcibly eject him from the property. Seriously. Dude was 3/4 of the way through his second 42 ounces of cool, refreshing Steel Reserve when I came back from a meeting with a customer and the landlord of my office. And it wasn’t even noon.

Auction time? You mean sleepy time

Anyway, I got out of there without him hurting himself or someone else. But that’s what I get for hiring the degenerate son of a friend instead of a random dude with a pulse that sits in front of the nearest Home Depot.  Lesson learned. and rant over.

I don’t usually drink on the job. But when I do, I drink Steel Reserve.

Hey, there were sports yesterday. Sorry Louisville, that choke job should put you out of the tournament. Michigan is advancing, as is Wisconsin (and that should put Maryland out as well). Penn State plays Ohio State tonight and will try to beat my Buckeyes for the third time this year.  I will be displeased if that happens. Wichita State won, as did Cincy and Arizona.

On the ice, the Bruins went for the two-point conversion and put up 8 in beating the Pens. Other winners were the Hurricanes, Lightning, Panthers, the Predators, the Sharks (sorry Swissy), the Kings and the Coyotes, who beat the MINNESOOOOOODA WIIIIIIIIIILD!!!!  Congrats to the winners. Sorry, Chicago. This year is circling the drain.

OK, that ought to do it for sports.  Now how about…the links!

    Beautiful, inviting Los Angeles

Want to start the links with something retarded?  Then you’re in luck! You know, when your article is filled with government interventions that either fail to solve or actually exacerbate the problem, you might want to reach a conclusion other than “the government needs to solve this”.  But expecting that from the LA Times is like expecting a pig to do algebra.

OK, this one is a bit of a dilemma for libertarians. Actually it isn’t. This is a private property rights dispute and the property owner or operator has a right to have someone removed that refuses to leave.  But we are still free to point out when that person using their rights is an asshole.  This is one of those times.

When the “we have to ban guns because they’re the only way people can carry out mass killings” narrative is disputed by reality. If only it were easy for that family to have been able to easily purchase and use a deadly weapon to defend themselves against somebody. Unfortunately for them they lived in San Francisco.

This man is a real warrior for social justice.

I need one of the Chicago Glibs to track this guy down and buy him a beer. See, this is how Americans should get involved in fighting over there, not by being shipped over as an “advisor”.

Its physical.  And educational. So why did the guy resign? Oh yeah, I guess because its not on the approved list of teacher aids. Jesus, what a bunch of prudes.

Follow up to the piece yesterday where a college baseball coach told a Colorado recruit he wasn’t interested because kids from that state hadn’t been passing drug tests: he’s been fired. Listen, if I can give any advice here to potential managers, business owners or coaches: don’t ever give anyone a reason for not hiring, recruiting or retaining them.  Always say its “for no particular reason at all” and never share anything about your reasoning with anyone else in writing. Jesus, this is elementary stuff here. Only SJW’s can hire and fire people based on political or social beliefs. That’s the way its been for decades now.

Not all power bands are created equal. This one was superior to any others I can think of.

That’s all she wrote. It was good to get back to links duty. I hope I didn’t disappoint.

  • Thursday Morning Links

    Thursday Morning Links

Way to go Big Ten.  Your conference isn’t playing meaningful games because the league brass just had to have the conference tournament in that hotbed of Big Ten country…Madison Square Garden?  Seriously, what the fuck? Everybody is playing rivalry games this week as you get set to kick off your conference tournament nowhere near a single Big Ten school that is worth a shit. I hope the whole arena sits empty as you get set to finish your tournament the same day as conferences like the Atlantic Sun and MEAC rather than when it traditionally ends when its played at a venue that makes fucking sense.. Stupid bastards. Meanwhile, Villanova, Clemson, Nevada, Kentucky and Xavier were among the winners last night.

On the frozen ponds, Les Canadiens beat the Islanders, the Sabres topped the Lightning, St Louis took care of Detroit, Colorado was better than Calgary, and five goals wasn’t enough for Vancouver, as the Rangers put up 6 to win in overtime. And in case most of you haven’t noticed, spring training is well underway and games are being played.  Oh what a glorious time of year!

OK, maybe that’s a bit of an overstatement. Many of you are still dealing with shitty weather and snow. All we’re getting is rain, rain, rain. But at least I’m indoors except for the fact that I’m scheduled to move into my new office this weekend. SO I need it to stay away at least half of the day Saturday. Everybody pray for me that I doin’t suffer first-world problems this weekend. I will thank you for your prayers in advance by providing you this sweet ass edition of…the links!

Here’s a “child rapist” I think many of you would get behind. (TW: Florida. anti-TW: this is the type of teacher Van Halen was talking about.)

This is how you’ll all be forced to defend yourself if they get rid of “assault weapons”. With nothing but air.

Trump puts his foot in his mouth.  Although his words are being wildly mischaracterized and its being implied he means in general, what he said is still a terrifying prospect.  As a bonus, I’m sure this will cause the left to have a renewed interest in defending the Fourth Amendment.  Still, he needs to choose his words much more carefully.  There would have never been a need to secure a warrant to arrest that idiot. He had the cops called during enough active crime situations that they could have easily arrested him on the spot and then secured a warrant while he was sitting in a jail cell awaiting a bond hearing.  That actually would have followed the due process requirements and would have also gotten the guns out of the hands of a sociopathic nut job who regularly made threats and acted like he was about to do exactly what he did.

The religious atheists on the left continue to make efforts to win the hearts and minds of America the only way they know how. Chris Pratt makes a harmless gesture that he believes, as do hundreds of millions of Americans probably, will make a positive difference in someone’s life and those assholes go bonkers.  Christ, what a bunch of assholes. Also, poor headline choice, Fox. It sure didn’t sound like Smith was “forced” to defend anyone. He did so willingly and graciously. And FWIW, Mallrats was still probably his best work.

For all those geniuses who say average Joes shouldn’t be walking around with guns and that only trained police officers should have them: I’d love for them to explain this and tell me they’re gonna stick with their position. Also, if we ban guns, this will never happen because people won’t have them. Except, this was in SF, where guns are essentially outlawed.  So there goes that bullshit talking point too…unless he went across the border into Indiana and got one and then went back into the city to carry out his mayhem.  Can they use that bullshit talking point in California? Sure seems to work for the grabbers in Illinois that want to blame their violence problem on everything but the individuals carrying their daily shootings out or the failed government system in their fair city that disenfranchises large segments of their population.

Dorothy Brown: endless purveyor of graft without consequence

Speaking of Chicago politics, I see its business as usual. The federal investigation into the office has gone on for five years and the abuses have been chronicled with detailed precision. Yet somehow, the machine that brought us Barack Obama has yet to bring anyone to trial.  But that has to be a coincidence.

I guess I could have put this in sports, but I’m gonna count it as news. Hey, listen, I think the coach is completely justified in his position here, with the exception of his last couple of sentences. If he recruits players who can’t pass the NCAA-mandated drug tests and can show where that’s happened, he is making a sound decision that will make sure he’s able to field a team that won’t run afoul of antiquated NCAA rules.  Too bad he’s not venting his anger at the NCAA instead of Colorado pols. Because in my opinion, that’s where he should be directing it.

I had no reason to play this other than the fact that I wanted to hear it. Its my right!

Good luck out there today, friends.

  • Wednesday Morning Links

Wow, what an arduous journey the last week and a half has been.  Its still not showing any signs of slowing down, but I felt honor-bound together back to links duty.  I’m imposed enough on my friends who so graciously (and most likely did a better job) in covering for me these last several days.  But in the words of Frank Costanza, “I’m back, baby!”

Will Oklahoma even make the tournament?  The appear to be on an express elevator to the basement of the Big XII after getting rolled again last night. This time by Baylor.  Elsewhere, Rhode Island got boat-raced by St Joes, Auburn fell, Tennessee won and the Tar Heels got beat at the buzzer by Miami (FL).

On the ice, we are nearing the trade deadline, which should generate some extra action as well as tension.  Anyway, the Bruins, Capitals, Devils, Panthers, Predators, MINNESOOOOOOODA WIIIIIIIILD, Stars, Kings and Sharks all won. Congratulations, eh.

Of course I’ll kill his family for him for not medaling, ma’am. I know what my job is.

The Olympics are over, I guess. I have absolutely no idea what happened beyond Ms Kim stealing the show.  Hey, I wonder if NBC will glowingly cover her and her brother when they have the families of the Nork Olympians who didn’t medal (read: all of them) fed to dogs or something equally barbaric.

Soccer happened too, with Swansea beating Sheffield Wednesday in an FA Cup match, while in Spain Real Madrid once again faltered. More games on tap today, with Spurs playing C-Level Rochdale. And in Spain, several big games.

    I agree, bubbe!

That’s the sports update for the day. And now we get to…the links! And I’ll apologize in advance if I end up re-linking half to all of these. I have seriously been out of touch other than trolling a couple cards on twitter over the last couple of days.

Man tells truth, gets pilloried. “Sorry it doesn’t fit the narrative, buddy. If you were on our side, you could make all kinds of Nazi comparisons and we’d be ok with it.” -the left

Camille Paglia unloads. I don’t think this is gonna go over well. Not that she gives a shit.

The next time some left-wing dickhead holds up California as being an ideal place to live and mocks your state, just link this piece to them and tell them to STFU. L O freaking L. (Full rankings in all categories linked in the article.)

This makes a lot of fucking sense.

And here’s one for the busybody eco-warriors that think man can fix everything. Gee, who ever guessed that the earth was able to adapt to mankind as well as mankind has adapted to the earth?

Orlando decides to try the same failed experiment that city after city after city have tried.  Gee, I wonder if the results will be different, SMDH.

On the same day as the Parkland shooting, something else happened that is not getting the coverage it deserves. I suspect it won’t either. Quick recap: good guy with gun foils possible mass shooting at church and gets popped by trigger-happy cop for his troubles.  But let’s at least give these cops credit for one thing: they didn’t sit outside playing with themselves while something potentially terrible was about to happen.

Well, I hope I’ve not disappointed anyone.  But I’ve got no more words for ya. Just a very 80’s video with bad lip-syncing and a message…of hope.

Go make the day a good one, friends.

  • Friday Morning Links

Thank God this week is almost over.  I’m as tired as Lili von Shtupp. Today is my son’s 18th birthday. I feel especially old now that he’s an adult. But I also got to change a piss-filled diaper from Baby Justice, so I was at least reminded that I have a whole other generation of them to raise to adulthood.

THE SUMMER OLYMPICS ARE BETTER BECAUSE THIS

Hey, what ever happened to athletes and actors just entertaining us and leaving their political messages at the door?  Was it ever that way, I wonder?  Sure, there were a lot of athletes that left the sport to sign up when the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor, but there was literally no controversy in their opinion.  Today its a bunch of athletes who have security protecting them while at work decrying my ownership of guns because some stupid asshole punk decided to go on a killing spree.  I’m happy you have an opinion about it dick, but don’t expect me to pay to see you play when you’re telling me I should give up my rights (or have them forcibly taken away) just to make you feel good about yourself while you have the luxury of having an armed security force at your workplace.

Sorry about that rant, but half the ESPN stories this morning were about who all is speaking out for gun control.  And I don’t have the patience to suffer a network with a political mission of disarmament, ramming their opinion down our throat when their stated mission is to be the worldwide leader in sports.  Of course, these are the same progressive dumbshits that fawned over Obama and his basketball picks every year but left politics out of it, meanwhile they completely changed their stated policy on mixing politics and sports when Trump was inaugurated because “athletes and sportscasters have voices too and should be heard in these divisive times.”  Nevermind that the guy in office before him did more to stir up racial and political animosity than any predecessor in the history of our nation.

No, not a bu-, a bomb.

No scores today. That’s my sports update. Thanks, ESPN, for taking away one of my daily diversions. And now come…the links!

Maybe the FBI are starting to take seriously leads on people who are obviously bent on destruction. I wonder if the teacher will get put on paid leave. Just kidding, he quit before he was arrested. Although the door is open to a pension related to the stress of teaching while running a bomb factory.  Hell, if a NYPD cop can get a heftier pension because he allowed himself to become a fat fuck, this guy might have a chance too.

Black man who grew up dirt poor and rose to the top of his chosen profession decries victimhood mentality. Oh man, that ought to set a few heads ablaze.

They see him trollin’, they hatin’.

LOL, sorry bitches! You got trolled. I like the cut of this guy’s jib. I mean, he simply doesn’t give a fuck what anybody wants from him. And he’s probably gonna parlay that into a bigger payday.

OK, I have a question: why is the FBI doing investigations that include domestic violence in the first place? Look, DV is awful. Anybody that would initiate violence on a spouse, partner or stranger for that matter is an asshole.  But when the hell did it become the province of the FBI?  Perhaps those resources could have been better spent following up on actual threats of violence against schools full of kids instead of this shit.

How do you manage to fuck this up to the tune of a $4Bn loss?

Better enjoy Uber while you can. Because they’re apparently run like shit. Seriously, how do you lose that much money when your entire means of revenue are off of commissions you only pay if your drivers are making money?  Sure, there’s some more overhead, but it can’t be that much.  Here’s a tip: move out of Silicon Valley and San Francisco and set up shop somewhere you can pay your employees and your facilities cost a hell of a lot less.

A series of good deeds is once again rewarded. This dude is just a cool guy. I hope he can finally have a couple injury-free seasons, but even if he ends up never playing another down, he will be regarded as a fine football player and an even better human being.

There is no tie in to a link today. Just a good song.

Have a great day and a better weekend.

  • Thursday Morning Links

Hope y’all had a nice Valentine’s Day. Mine went exactly as I’d hoped and a little better when I received a very nice writing instrument.  Thanks, Banjos 🙂

Just in case you thought the Winter Olympics were as good as the Summer Olympics.

Olympics are still too boring to note, although America has already captured the first of the alpine events (where the score is actually the time and a winner is determined by objective measurements rather than the opinions of a few people. So…go USA!

Providence might have played their way into the tournament with a win over Villanova. Elsewhere, Xavier (OH) Won. Auburn beat Kentucky, who is starting to fall outside the bubble, in my opinion.Florida State took down Clemson, to the delight of Brett L. Duke drilled Va Tech. Michigan rolled up Iowa. And Nevada topped Boise State. This year is absolutely wide open. The tournament should be a blast.

On the ice,  just three games. The Avalanche blanked Les Canadiens. The Florida Panthers beat the Vancouver Canucks. And the Maple Leafs continue to impress, doubling up the Columbus Bluie Jackets 6-3.  This season has been a roller coaster. I can’t wait to see how it ends in five months. Or how the playoffs work out 9 months from now.

Lastly, in European Champions League, I’m getting word that Liverpool have scored again while on the flight back from Portugal.  I mean…wow. What a beatdown. And Real Madrid got a pair of late goals to top PSG 3-1. The JV Euro tournament plays today. And Arsene Wenger is probably already complaining about something.

That’s all for the sports update. Now back to…the links!

I didn’t know she was that old. Also, might be photoshopped.

More details are coming out about the horrible piece of shit who shot up a Florida high school, killing 17 and injuring scores more. Apparently everyone know he was a dangerous piece of shit and many suspected he’d try and do something like this, based on his actual threats to do something like this. No police were injured, however, as they’re probably still huddled behind their APC outside the place where he lived.

Elizabeth Warren doubles down on her claims of Indian ancestry. and accuses Trump and others of being meanies. You know, 23 and Me don’t cost that much, Lieawatha Lizzie. I’m sure your opponents would even be willing to crowdfund you getting it done to settle the matter once and for all. Also, its convenient that her story now includes “facts” she has completely omitted up until today. And the principals involved are dead and unable to corroborate her claims.  Also, I bet the open bar reception after that meeting is a fucking BLAST!

Oh look! Its a Republican actually talking about balancing a budget! Too bad he’s relying on cutting pensions for Illinois government employees and raising taxes. Because saying those two things together in that state all but ensure he will not be re-elected.

I don’t know the answer to the mystery, but if I had to guess, I’d say roofies, booze and lot lizards played a role.

And while I hate linking two pieces from the same place, I just couldn’t avoid this piece of low-hanging fruit.  That kid is gonna be fine, I’m sure. Right?

The Blue Man Group’s got some competition

A group of Senators have reached a deal on immigration. But there’s no way in hell it gets a consensus until it addresses chain immigration, curbing future illegal immigration and the border wall Trump is insisting be funded or he will veto it.

Wait, so its ok for him to do blackface but not me? Actually, I’m sincerely proud of this guy. I’m glad he’s doing what he can to continue living his dream.  The world needs more of this kind of persistence and less of the HRC variety.

Parts of this song could apply to many of the people in the links today. Choose for yourself.

That’s it for me. Have a great day, friends!

  • Wednesday (Valentine’s Day!) Morning Links

Its Valentine’s Day in Glibertopia. That means…well, what exactly does that mean to each of you?  It means for me to tell Banjos that I love her very much and that I’m so happy she’s my wife and has given me three wonderful children.  What does it mean to the rest of you? (Hint: here’s the chance to tell someone how much you love them and perhaps give the site a few extra hits when you tell them to take a look.)

That red font is a little too much for me, so the opening is abbreviated.  Besides, I wanted to talk about the 4-0 thrashing Man City put on Basel in the Champions League yesterday.  My, what a fortunate draw that was. Elsewhere, Spurs drew Juventus 2-2 in Woplandia. The two away goals are looking pretty good, but they can’t afford to rest, as Juve will look for the outright win in the second leg.

Back in America, land of the free and home of the brave, Kansas won and Texas Tech beat Oklahoma, who are in a freefall, aTm lost to Mizzou, Rhode Island, Michigan State, Tennessee and the top ranked team in the country Virginia Cavaliers beat Miami.

Psychotic bitch and media heartthrob, Kim

In Olympic hockey, the Japs beat the Koreans, which probably means that death stare the lovely diplomat Ms Kim gave the losers came with a message (although she is so lovely, isn’t she? Why, Lester Holt was fapping to her all night.). Actually, I can’t back that up. Are the Korean men using Norks as well, or is that just the women?  Either way, you can bet your ass there’s a family of Norks being tortured or murdered by that woman’s brother and she couldn’t possibly care less.  And neither could the idiots at NBC. The USA takes on Canada tonight, which will actually be tomorrow there. I think.  Which means our Asian contingent can tell us who won shortly.  IS that right? I’m not too sure. Either way, U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Oh yeah, there was some big time hockey played on this side of the Pacific too.  A dozen games at that!  The winners were: Boston, Buffalo, Columbus, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Detroit, Nashville, The Winnipeg J-E-T-S, Phoenix, Army (over the hapless Blackhawks) and the MINNESOOOOODA WIIIIIIIIIILD! Congratulations to the winners.

I WANT YOU (to stop being such partisan assholes)!

OK, ready for the news? Here’s what I dredged up for…the links!

Looks like Bill Murray is announcing his retirement from acting. But at least when he dies, on his deathbed, he will receive total consciousness. So he’s got that going for himself. Which is nice.

I’ve got a question: why in the ever-loving fuck is this an issue? I’m reminded of the South Park flag episode where everybody is trying to signal their absolute lack of racism while the kids are completely oblivious to the races of anybody involved.  Also, we’re not anywhere near Halloween, so this should be doubly unnecessary for at least 8 months.

Christ, what an asshole. At least break into someone’s home up there while they’re out losing a Super Bowl, not at a wake you prick.

Talk about luck! After all, its California. If the thing had ended up being endangered, the state would have sued the shit out of the kid for destroying its natural habitat and effectively killing it.

I swear to tell the truth, the wh-…well some of it anyway. I’m with the FBI, I can get away with that.

Wray says … nothing of substance … in Senate panel inquiry. At least he acknowledged that its the President’s prerogative to declassify stupid shit that has no business being classified in the first place.

Face charges? Hell, he’ll probably get a medal. Seriously, in what civilized world is doing a PIT maneuver on a minivan full of people doing 100 mph ever considered a good idea?  Especially a minivan full of kids.  This is wrong on so many levels its ridiculous.

Gymnast (((Aly Raisman))) is tired of being objectified. And this is her way of fighting it? Well, I and the rest of America wholeheartedly approve.  You go girl!  Show those men you aren’t a piece of meat. In fact, you should get a couple of your teammates from 2016 and do it together.  You know, for empowerment and shit.

This most definitely is not advice for (((Ms Raisman)))

Have a great Valentine’s Day, friends. Go get a little.

“The USA Olympic team is racking up medals while having fun at P.F. Chang’s.. But the bigger question: Should that be considered impolite to Kim’s sister? I know she traveled all the way from her impoverished, thanks to Trump, homeland to be the goodwill ambassador the world needs right now in the face of such a dangerous leader like we have. She’s so brave and lovely, America would do well with her in a position of power rather than Ivanka.”

Brought to you by Carl’s Jr

-this message has been brought to you by NBC News and NBC Sports.

Sorry about that. We’re considering doing paid commentary on the site and I wanted to see how it would work out. I guess we’ll take a pass unless we’re able to tweak a little for content. I’ll get to work on it.  But in the meantime, let’s talk about real sports: Chelsea managed to win yesterday and keep Conte employed for a little longer. On the basketball courts across the country, just two ranked teams played. And both UNC and WVU took. home victories.  No couches in Morgantown were harmed.

Three games on the ice. Let’s mention two and then focus on the third. The Florida Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Maple Leafs took care of the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Then there was the once (recently) great Chicago Blackhawks getting curb stomped by the worst franchise in the NHL for at least a decade, the Phoenix Coyotes.  Sorry, Swissy. It’s a four-alarm fire over there.  Time to clean house and see if you guys can shake up a little sense of urgency. Because whatever it is that they’re doing ain’t working by any measure.

Champions League Round of 16 games are up this week. That brings a little excitement back to those of us who are fans of top clubs. And of course more excitement will continue at P.F. Changs as hockey starts up in earnest.  Go U.S.A. (with apologies to our lovely North Korean hostesses and their Minister Of Agitation and Propaganda boss-lady).

OK, that’s all out of the way. And I’m sure there’s a lot going on today.  SO let’s get down to…the links!

“Who the fuck is that?” she said earnestly

Paging Inigo Montoya. Inigo Montoya to the white courtesy phone.  Also, who’s the chick on the right? Just kidding. That portrait looks fine. And besides, there’s no way they wanted to pay Lucasfilm likeness rights for Chewbacca with all the foot traffic going through the gallery. It’d cost them a fortune! Lastly, will Trump have his done on velvet? God, I hope he has his done on velvet. And I hope there’s a tiger in it. Or a unicorn. Or…well, you get the point.

Susan Rice wrote an interesting email just a few hours before she no longer had a job. Republican Senators want to know why.  And why would the Obama admin be in a position to determine what information to share or not share with transition team members with the necessary security clearances in place?  Meh, I just hope they get her under oath and start asking about her and the Ambassador to the UN unmasking and leaking the names of everyone in the transition team that were being surveilled under the flimsiest of reasons and with a dubiously-granted wiretap warrant on a man that had recently been on the FBI payroll.

I’m sure the huge deficits are coming, but let’s at least for a minute appreciate the effect the tax cuts had on something. Those crumbs appear to have been reinvested in ways that help the government get more revenue.  Gee, who’d have thunk it?

Weinstein and unnamed pal in better times

Looks like the leftist hero Harvey Weinstein is in a bit of legal trouble for real. Its amazing in a world filled with such stunning and brave, and don’t forget intelligent and empowered, leftists, nobody even lifted a finger to put a stop or even place a speed bump int he way of this bulbous cretin of a human being.  You’d almost think they were craven assholes with little care for those being hurt as long as their career didn’t suffer.  But if we’ve learned anything about Hollywood from those who are from there: they’re better than us and that can’t be the case.

Leftist “artist” and leftist politician in a catfight over how south Boston is depicted. Here’s the rest of America’s take: nobody fucking cares. get over yourselves. Your southie culture is there for us to laugh at, not give a shit about.

Maybe I’m missing something, but could somebody please show me in the article where she forced these people to remain there? Just kidding. This seems legit: the city collects money from someone who appears to have possibly violated a contractual agreement. No money for the “victims”, but more for the government.  And people wonder why its damn near impossible for people to live in that city.

OK, can somebody please explain this shit to me? (And if I’m simply too old to get the cultural significance or reason for the banning, that’s fine. But please let me know what the ever-loving fuck is so bad that it requires a banning when pictures of a decapitated president from the blue-check brigade get no notice.)

You want a dose of “shit, I’m getting old”? Just think about this for a few minutes.

Hell, this song was an easy choice as a tie-in. Also has a nice bass-line.

  • Monday Morning Links

Well, its been one year today hanging out with you people here.  I won’t speak for any of the other folks involved here because its not my place, but I want to personally thank you all from the bottom of my heart for making this such a wonderful experience.  I’ve learned a lot in the past 365 days hanging around in our own little place. A lot about diversity of opinion, a reasonable discourse and what quality user-generated content can be (hint: it has been excellent). So many of you, those that are still here commenting daily, those who lurk and those who have come and gone, have contributed more than you’ll ever know.  And a special thank you to the people that came together and founded, fostered and labored for this place to be the wonderful venture that it is.  The site has evolved a lot over the last year and the format has been tinkered with, and it seems to be drifting in the way you guys want it to drift. For that, I am happy.

Anyway, you guys are the best. Thanks for everything.

Ohio State and Liverpool both won this weekend. Man United shit the bed, Michigan State beat Purdue to put Ohio State atop the Big Ten. And in hockey, the Pens, Red Wings, Rangers, Canucks, Avalanche, Bruins, Flames, Flyers and Sharks won.  That’s it. I blew my load on the anniversary bit so I didn’t have time for much else.

And now, I present you with…the links!

The smiling face of an evil member of a murderous clan

This is what happens when you let your political hatred of a rightfully-elected President cloud your judgment so much you beclown yourself on a global stage. I mean…yeah. Well done, WaPo. You’re officially a joke after your “Democracy dies in darkness” schtick followed up with this.  Collect your door prize and GTFO of the building if you think for a second you’re a publication to be taken seriously anymore. You can join CNN’s Lester Holt over there in the corner with the dunce hat on.

Damn, that’s harsh. Looks like he could have used a few of those cats’ nine lives.

California gets the immigrants it deserves.  Unfortunately, these guys won’t be paying into the system.

Dindunuffins get a break in Chicago. Hey, maybe you lazy-ass cops up there can start charging these assholes to the fullest extent of the law and will let your unarmed populous defend themselves from them and this kind of shit won’t continue to spiral out of control. And stop throwing people in jail for drugs at the expense of these idiots walking free.

Boston police apologize for tone-deaf tweet. Yeah, its a little tone deaf, but its still completely accurate. Don’t these people have more important shit to complain about?

    Shut down due to Nazis

No, not a bu-, a bomb. London City airport closed down when unexploded WW2 bomb found nearby in River Thames. Shit, I remember when that nation used to fly planes out while under a torrent of bombing. Now they shut down an airport when somebody spots a Nazi shell in the general vicinity. The sun may have finally set on a once-brave people.

This goes out to all of you.

Have a great day, friends. Thanks for a hell of a good year.
