After a long exhausting auction day, Sloopy is still dead to the world. Leaving you, dear Glibs, with the links stylings of the one and only Banjos!
The Birthday list sucks today, so you’re not getting one. And I don’t have the energy to find out what happened historically today. I’ve been too busy to follow sports. Here’s some news stories.
Florida governor Rick Scott is suing Broward County for some serious shenanigans. Understandably so.
Nanny state is being the nanny state.
Utah Man who regularly allowed bats into his home to fly around and land on his hands surprisingly dies of rabies.
In case you were keeping track, homophobic slurs flung at conservative politicians? A-ok!
I’ll finally give you kids a break from all the classic rock.
I am now off to get my kids out the door! Have a Banjotastic Day everyone!
I’m sorry to go off topic so soon, but I am briefly celebrating the fact, that even with several severe interruptions, I managed to compose just over fifty thousand words in the past five days. I will soon be back to the task at hand, and not commenting here as much since my week is not over, nor is the book.
50,000? Are you on the Stephen King method?
Write really good books for the first 10 years of your career, then mail it in after that?
I was thinking snort a fuckton of cocaine and write books that break little old ladies wrists in paperback.
It’s funny to watch popular authors’ career trajectories go from tight, well edited stories to ponderous, self indulgent door stops. King was bad, but Tom Clancy might have been worse.
I especially liked all the people that used big author’s names to peddle their dreck…
You can see the same thing with directors (Spielberg, Lucas, Kubrick).
Ouch. I’m giving Kubrick a pass for EWS. I’m choosing to believe that he knew his time was short and EWS was the film he thought he could finish before his death – however ill-advised. Also, maybe a bit of senility or something.
Yeah. There was the core of a decent movie in EWS, but I think no editor wanted to touch it due to it being Kubrick’s last work. Same as no editor is going to cut 100+ pages of a book from King or Martin at this point (no matter how much it’s needed).
To be fair, Lucas was always a navel-gazing art house pseud, he just got famous on his throwaway space opera for children. He still has a huge complex about it.
With Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum, I never knew if it was a book he wrote while dead or alive.
You know how many people “piggy backed” on these two to peddle their dreck? The real author’s name would be in size 8 font with either of those big names in size 36 font on top of it to fool morons.
No, I’m just spending the entirety of my waking time on the story save for food and such inconveniences.
They’re just the sentence “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” repeated 5,000 times.
Nice UCS.
I am impressed.
On some subjects I try like hell, go back and rewrite, wait a day or two and rewrite. I can get out 1/2 to 1 page per day if I am lucky.
Other subjects I can sit down and pound out an article from start to finish in one sitting but it is less than half what you are producing.
I am jealous.
I agree with Suthen both on the congratulations and the admiration.
I think the Greeks were onto something with their concept of Muses. While I don’t believe in diaphanously-clad demigoddesses as the source of my inspiration, sometimes I’m inspired and sometimes not. Last night I came home and just cranked out part of an article – wasn’t expecting to. I find the muse concept is more applicable to my fiction – I can crank out the articles even when I’m not inspired, but for fiction I need to be “feeling it.”
Thank you, and those above who shared their congratulations.
To get the pace, I am running roughshod over the story. I know two spots that I need to go back and add in material to make it make sense, but I’m pushing forward so that the time-consuming thinking part can happen when the week is up and my numbers in.
Still, it has its quotient of bad jokes in it
But the joke fits. It’s like the “lesser of two weevils” joke in Master and Commander. Shipboard is an inherently boring environment most of the time and shit seems funnier than it would be otherwise.
Yeah, I sometimes skip over difficult parts when I’m writing. Sometimes there’s a scene I just can’t tackle until the mood strikes.
Cheers.
Bear Grylls haz a sad.
Impressive.
The monkey/typewriter scenario does work! Congrats for realz.
Good, but not enough.
You know the left will play this out in the media, and after they steal the election, bury the story. This happens every fucking election, and the team red/stupid people just let them get away with it.
Team Red has had two years to figure out creative ways to lock this sort of thing down. They had to figure that the margin of fraud was going to be even bigger in this election than it had been up to 2016. Not sure I’m seeing any evidence that they’ve figured it out.
Even if they had figured it out, I suspect they lack the will to actually do what it takes to stop this shit dead cold. I keep hearing them talk about how they want to avoid undermining people’s confidence in the electoral system, and wonder how allowing one party to constantly cheat isn’t already doing exactly that undermining…
“…people’s confidence in the electoral system…”
What’s that that is said around here about assuming facts not in evidence? 🙂
^This. It’s like handicapped parking abuse. Everyone knows it’s a big problem, everyone has seen it in action, but nothing seems to be done.
And team red has nothing to lose from this. They are already pegged (lol) as racists which is the charge levelled at anyone who mentions voter fraud – like doing something about that is a transparent subterfuge to purge all black people from the voter rolls.
A lot of Team Red still thinks there’s a set of Rules that everyone has to follow, and following the Rules eventually Wins…or at least Loses with the moral high ground.
But they’re fighting against an enemy that wants the destroyed and the Rules are out the window with that goal.
^This
Yeah, I pointed out to a lot of people that the only reason Kavanaugh got confirmed was that team blue forgot in the end Trump played by their rules. Team red seems to feel that as long as they fight by Marquis of Queensbury rules the media will give them a pass – and the media, being dnc operatives with bylines, never does – while team blue is fighting prison rules, always pulls out the shank and goes for the throat, and then sells the team read carcass in a fetal position to Bubba for a candy bar and a pack of cigarettes. Trump jumped into the ring and proceeded to take a flamethrower to the team blue prison fighters, and he won.
To stop this cheating someone will need to take a flamethrower to team blue people doing this shit, ignoring the pants shitting the dnc operatives with bylines in the media will surely bring to bear, and make the act cost the perps dearly.
The lefty FL counties trying to steal a close election has been going on for a long time. The FL Legislature needs to do some serious work there.
Arizona has me baffled. The R Governor won easily, but they are still counting votes for Senator? What the hell is going on there?
GOP let the Pa. Supreme Court redistrict, in violation of the state constitution, and lost several congressional seats because of it. A few folks that I know on “the inside” say the GOP is scared to death of being crucified in the media if they push back on these issues.
That the GOP had grossly gerrymandered the original districts in the first place, only gave the other side ammunition.
God damn it Ron, keep your cock holster shut and just make good movies. And you may want to turn off the sidebar, it’ll get cramped here otherwise.
“Utah Man who regularly allowed bats into his home to fly around and land on his hands surprising dies of rabies”
All bats have rabies. Every single one of them. Bats are great, they eat a ton of mosquitoes and other bugs, but never ever have physical contact with a bat.
Stupid is as stupid does. I learned to eat a lot of real nasty shit in SEAR, but I also learned what not to fucking even get near. Bats and slugs are two of those things you stay away from..
Slugs and snails are vectors for nearly every internal parasite on the planet. That goes for terrestrial and aquatic varieties. They pass around some pretty nasty monsters.
Their tounges are scrapers. Critters shit on the ground and the parasite eggs stick to grass, stones, whatever. Slugs come along and in the process of scraping algae off of it ingest the parasite eggs. Some other critter, usually an ungulate, comes along and inadvertently eats the slug that is in the grass.
And it goes round and round and round like that.
People dont shit outdoors anymore…at least outside of coastal california. Indoor plumbing has done more to improve quality of life and life expectancy than nearly anything else we have accomplished.
AMEN! I’ll also add chlorinated water to that list. As an angry aside, the fact that 2018 NOLA is often under ‘boil orders’ because of the shitty drinking water while PGT Beauregard was able to provide potable water to the city over a century ago AND the city tore down his statue to appease the tantrum-throwing iconoclasts makes me rather cross.
Slugs and snails…
For a second, I thought you were going to link to Teenage Lobotomy by the Ramones.
Ewwewwwwww
/14 year old girl.
Seriously,. Ty for info
Oh fuck no, nasty little bastards shit and piss on everything. Even if you don’t contract rabies (horrible way to go), you’re liable to get some god awful bacterial infection in your lungs from the guano.
+1 Coca Cola Company
The Perlman thing…the left is entirely without principle, morally bankrupt. Worst kind of people. Why more people cant see that is a mystery to me.
Some people like feeling superior – and the left’s whole dogma is predicated on the fact that because they are masters of identity politics marxism, they are the more enlightened and intellectual – and when the real world stomps on your beliefs, it is easier to cheat and win so you don’t have to revisit your beliefs that you are the smarter than others (especially when you are nothing but a dumb ass npc).
In Perlman’s case, it’s because there is a large contingent of very vocal twitter-morons that suck his dick whenever he says stuff like that. I guess he must enjoy it.
That cocksucker Takei is the same way
Not that there is anything wrong with Takei literally being a cock sucker… I know you are pointing out in anger that he is a proggie asshat.
It’s celebrity worship. Many people feel that their lives are boring and unglamorous. But by imitating the fashion and views of celebrities they can feel better about themselves. These people can’t, or perhaps don’t want, to think critically about the dubious political expertise of people whose job it is to emote or sing.
Hence the apt and appropriate label: npcs…
I mean he’s not wrong though, he’s just an asshole.
I have a suspicion that Graham is one of those non practicing homosexuals. I have known a fair number of those guys and Graham does give off that vibe.
Party of inclusion, equality, tolerance and LGBQTFPN rights uses sexual orientation as a slur. I just cant understand why anyone with a scintilla of principle would vote for them.
Pegged it! LOL
That’s my suspicion anyway. I actually know some people from the Strom Thurmond machine and they are incredibly sensitive on this topic.
He could also be asexual/LSD, or one of that extremely small number of effeminate straight men.
But regardless, you would have thought that he would have picked up a wife along the years, at least for the sake of appearance. Admire him for managing to pull off being single and scandal-free throughout his long career.
Principals over principles, but progressive dogma uber alles.
Why does anyone care what some actor, however talented, have to say about politics? Do we care what any politician has to say about moviemaking?
Do we care what any politician has to say about moviemaking?
It usually means they’re about to hand out subsidies, so kind of.
Unless the politician is weighing in on Citizens United versus FEC, in which case it is really about politics rather than the making of movies.
As Tonio mentioned up-thread: there are a lot of people that that basically are nothing but imitators. Unfortunately people prone to this condition make the poor choice of imitating people that are flashy but both stupid and vapid.
Most people are irrelevant outside of their immediate family and social circle. They’re bombarded on a regular basis with images of fame, fortune, power and beauty, and a media that presentd those characteristics as important. In order to avoid nakedly exposing themselves to the uncomfortably cold abyss that is the meaningless of their own lives, they clothe themselves in various identity characteristics that they believe makes them important based on what happens when a famous/powerful/rich person exhibits those characteristics.
Much of the modern political landscape plays on small people living vicariously through a curated and slanted image of importance portrayed by the media.
That is fucking spot-on, Trashy.
I’d love to hear him explain whether the cocksucking part was inherently wrong, or the part where one made a choice to trade sexual favors for something else of value.
Has Perlman been in a Weinstein movie?
Black people can use the “N” word for the same reason people like Perlman can call people “cunt”.
[golf clap]
Seconded.
If they didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any at all.
Good morning, Banjos!
I’ll finally give you kids a break from all the classic rock.
That song is old enough to vote and fight (but not drink, of course).
It’s excellent music AND the neo-Fleischer animation really makes it. Fine choice!
Fine choice, but definitely edging toward ‘classic’.
For those that like bling on their thing
The engraved penises are made of golden brass and the earrings retail for £215 while the penis pendant is priced at a staggering £520.
It takes a lot of balls to charge that much for dick jewelry.
It’s cheaper than buying the flashy sports car to makeup for suffering from small cox…
Amazon can save you money if you want a fascinus. One example here:

I know I’m in the minority that hasn’t not jumped on the thicc bandwagon, but 20… that’s a big yikes. This ain’t it chief.
hasn’t not… welp, I guess I have to kill myself now.
There’s no bandwagon. Sexual preferences aren’t subject to a committee vote, they’re more of a benevolent dictatorship with yourself as the only citizen. My beyond thicc nerdy AA fiancee would be a wouldn’t for all sorts of men and lesbians, but daaayam she hits my sweet zone.
That being said, 20 is a serious outlier who doesn’t belong on this list.
There’s no bandwagon. Sexual preferences aren’t subject to a committee vote
True enough, but there’s certain trends and fashions in sexual preferences just like anything else. I don’t take it seriously, it’s all in good fun. In all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane, and all that.
You’re both wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
20 is an automatic disqualifier because of the Patriots jersey
Yeah, the jersey is what did it….
/sure
Wrong, wrong, wrong
I personally think it’s in my blood. Pretty much all of my father’s relationships have been with rather thicc if not more so women.
Ah yes. We call that the ‘chubby chaser’. Quite common, really.
+1 More Cushion
I did the waterbed effect on a dare (banging a woman that was so big you could feel like you ware having sex on a water bed even though it was a regular mattress), and as a gag it was a thing to joke about when you are young, but since I don’t suffer from the scooter disease (you like to ride scooters/fat chicks but don’t want to have your friends see you doing it), that once was enough. I get thicc. But there is thicc and there is WOAH! thar she blows…
As with all things in life, there is a balance. I do have my limits myself, I don’t think I’d ever go for the waterbed effect. Please excuse me while I have a few chuckles. You did go boldly though, so much kudos to you, sir.
My number is in the triple digits. The skinniest women I … dated … and found incredibly sexy was about a third of the weight of the incredibly sexy women on the other end of the spectrum. One woman had an A- cup, several with like DDDD cups. Some were wild, some vanilla.
The only common denominator was the women I found really sexy were all scary smart.
On that note, 1, 24, and 26 were my favs.
In my case it has been more of a discovery process. Started off as a kid brainwashed to look at the conventionally pretty skinny white women, and then found that the sexiest women who thought I was hot were mostly thicc women of color. And invariably wicked smart.
I hope to get lucky and find myself someone like that. That’s some life goals right there.
It wasn’t remotely about luck. You date over a hundred women off dating sites, and have a reasonable amount of game, and you’ll find someone who you find awesome.
Found way too much crazy along the way, but that price was well worth it.
Yeup. Sometimes I was the crazy one, but it was a good weeding-out technique. “Who can see beyond the crazy and get a good woman?”
That’s great, man. Yeah, you’re right, it’s just getting out there and giving it a shot. I’ll start getting into that game after I get myself straightened up a bit.
17 has been hitting the squat rack.
I meam less excessive thiccness than I expected
Me Chinese, me play joke
He should have put all his students on stationary bikes generating electricity, then given them a cut.
Don’t be silly. That’s phys ed class, they don’t get paid for that.

Fake libertarian
Turns out Heather MacDonald isn’t just a badge bunnie with a typewriter. She has the hots for any statist authoritarian who likes to lock people up.
Yup. No way having an entire nation watch as the connected get away with blatantly breaking the law is as bad as having a bunch of hard working people show up.
I like a lot of her arguments, but a can’t stand her public speaking voice at all
I notice none of them want to talk about Hillary taking 145M from the ruskies in return for her giving them what they wanted. She sold the country out. She sold her office. straight up treason. She aided and gave comfort to a country she was publicly calling our enemy. Nobody wants to talk about that.
SShhhh
She aided and gave comfort to a country she was publicly calling our enemy.
To be fair, that was wayyyyy back when Democrats were still making fun of Mitt Romney as a Cold War dinosaur for suggesting Russia was a geopolitical foe.
After Bill sold rocket and nuclear warhead technology to the Chicomms, violating US security, and for a measly $2 million in campaign funds, and got away with it, I figured we were just seeing the beginning of the machinations the Clintons were willing to engage in to get rich (and powerful). I assume anything the Clintons are involved with will involve something illegal/criminal and highly damaging to the US and American people, by default, until proven otherwise, and so far I have never been wrong. BTW, I expect the Obamas to do more of the same as the Clintons. I don’t refer to the dnc as a crime syndicate and at the Clintons & Obamas as capi di tutti cappi just for shiggles.
We’ve known for ages that she sucks cop dick.

4, 12, 13, 14, 20, 26, 27, 50.
Lol. 26 driving the sweet Bentley. She’s probably in finance, huh?
I’d go spelunking with 19. 41 looks a little out of proportion. I think it’s just the angle and bodysuit though. Still would.
4, 12, 32, 48, 50. Yowza, some nice squish.
12 seems to be the concensus pick.
Sometimes, it’s good we all have something in common.
What the fuck is a consensus? Sounds socialist.
I choose 38.
Consensus as in “three guys here had a longish list of Woulds, and the only one in common was 12.” Not like we were voting and had to accept the results of the election.
12, 17, 18, 21, 31, 37, 47.
We, sir, have very little overlap in our hotness meter calibrations.
Just take a full outer join and we’ve captured all sexy ladies the world over.
Ok, flag on the field.
How in the tits have I not ever seen that bar on the right on the homepage? Is that new? Have I taken crazy pills?
Also, Mojeaux: You want proofreading/editing shit farmed out….or at least you did 10 months ago….I’m still working full time but I’m doing piecemeal stuff online right now. I’ll start really hitting it full time in January. If you’re still interested and have some backlog, then I would certainly love to have a chat.
The editing work comes in dribs and drabs, but when it does, I take it but I hate it. I have no editing on my plate right now, but I didn’t forget you, trust me.
Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who has a dwindling lead over Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, took legal action Thursday night against Broward County for failing to provide information about ballots that have been counted.
Funny how these things only ever go one direction…
It’s a real shit-show ain’t it, man?
They are mealy-mouthing it on TV right now. I dont know why they cant just call it what it is – voter fraud to steal power. They are stealing elections in broad daylight in defiance of the law and we get “Hey, that masked man sneaking out the door with all of the money…he looks suspicious. Do you think he is stealing?”
If the Republicans weren’t so busy suppressing Democrat votes, the ballots being found wouldn’t be 97% Democrat. They’re just finding the votes the Republicans tried to throw away.
/Prog
To be fair, disenfranchising 1.6 million former felons was pretty much voter suppression.
Don’t think the next statewide election in Florida is going to need voter recounts, unless about half those young minority kids swept up in the War on Supply and Demand of Some Recreational Drugs realize that the Democrats running stuff in populous cities and staffing the police were responsible for locking them up.
They won’t figure that out. But it seems both the GOP and the Dems are saying that all or practically all ex-felons are democrat voters. Is that right?
I think it is more that a disproportionate number of ex-felons are African American, and culturally they’re taught that Republicans are (currently) their enemy cause of what happened since the Civil Rights movement, thus 90% of the black voters voting for Democrats. Used to be black voters were lockstep Republicans.
I have a whole lot of AA almost-in-laws, and unless one of them is keeping very quiet, we’re talking 100% of them being Democrats who show up and vote in almost every election.
Trump isn’t helping spouting off openly racist stuff on a regular basis.
If I remember correctly, this calling ex-felons ‘felons’ for life and stripping them of their constitutional rights for life is a product of good ol ‘bipartisanism’ which occured from the early 90s through the early 2000s.
I might also like to inquire if the poor folk who were wrongly stripped of their guaranteed constitution rights, have been granted ALL of their rights back. Like for instance, their 2nd amendment rights?
Yeah, the righteous democrats care about your rights, except when they don’t.
I think it’s enshrined in the 14th Amendment, not exactly a Democrat achievement I’m told.
I might also like to inquire if the poor folk who were wrongly stripped of their guaranteed constitution rights, have been granted ALL of their rights back. Like for instance, their 2nd amendment rights?
In FL, you do not get your 2A back with your voting rights. You have to petition separately.
I really hope those poor kids realize that. I really really do.
FN server squirrels.
Did they find all these ballots before or after RBG fell?
I suspect a lot of that desperation to find them is related to the panic RBG croaks.
In May, a judge ruled that Snipes had violated state and federal law after she destroyed voter ballots in the state’s 2016 congressional election. In the race, former Democratic National Convention (DNC) Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz won re-election by less than 7,000 votes against Democrat primary challenger Tim Canova.
The next year, when Canova asked to review the paper ballots in the race, it was revealed that Snipes destroyed the ballots only 12 months after the primary. Federal and state law mandates that ballots not be destroyed until 22 months after an election.
So why was she allowed to keep this position? Was there any penalty?
Hopefully a FL glib can clarify, but I heard it is an elected position and she keeps getting reelected.
I sadly have no clue. I lived in Dade and Leon counties my whole Floridaman life, but I didn’t vote until after I moved out of the country. Funny that.
An elected position in which she counts the votes? If that’s the case, I may see the problem…
Would an appointed position where she is beholden to someone whose votes she’s counting really be better?
Slightly. Along with some rules written into state law and serious penalties for violating them.
My guess is it’s an elected position and she counts the votes.
And I bet she is a firm believer in Stalin’s quote that what votes are cast doesn’t matter as much as who gets to do the counting..
They beclown themselves with the idol worship of this woman.

Narcissist much?
There’s also the recent story where lefty sycophants offered their own organs or bones to help heal up the exalted one, lol. They are beyond a cult.
None of them care about the old lady, They just care about the power of the seat on the court
They’re protesting Jeff Sessions being fired. One of the most heinous drug warrior ‘throw that pot smoking kid in a cage till he rots’, fucksticks of all time. Soooooo liberal.
Remember when they demanded he be fired, and failing that, demanded he recuse himself? The underlying motivation here seems to be that they want Mueller’s witch hunt to not have any oversight….
They’ve set Mueller up as a sort of god figure. No one can tell god what to do.
I don’t know why they didn’t just offer the flesh of all the aborted babies. That is after all what they are all desperately trying to protect.
This was the first thing I thought of.

Notorious for what? Being an activist justice?
Shitting on the constitution with her proggie agenda.
I think it’s just a joke. The juxtaposition of her with Notorious B.I.G. cracks me up, and I don’t care for either one.
Speaking of cracking me up and RBG, kudos to whomever here found this, and to the shitlord who made the Grim Reaper Pepe:

Local Somali discovers that bringing a rock to a gunfight is a bad idea.
I think the shooter is going to go to jail. I’m not sure that is a bad thing either. He definitely will have a hard time proving self-defense. On the other hand, the “victim” sure seemed like he was asking for it.
So much stupid in such a small article.
Leave, shithead. This is what will put him in jail. Oh, and who throws vaseline?!?
Lindsy Graham?
Ahem.
The shooter’s girlfriend initiated the violence.
Either way, this is proof that white supremacists are deadly to black youth.
My kid says the worse racial tensions in his schools has always been the Somalis vs the American born black kids. The Somalis like to point out that they were never slaves. The locals don’t take kindly to that for some reason.
BTW, I am guessing the victim was Somali. “Mohamad Abdi” though is about as ethnic as Ole Johnson.
To be sure, none of the American born black kids were slaves either.
The Somalis like to point out that they were never slaves.
More likely slave traders?
Do you think CNN is getting real tired of the Internet yet? After they spent hours flogging the idea that the White House released a “doctored” video of Jim Acosta, Buzzfeed of all people, pretty convincingly shows that the doctoring was due to the clip being converted to a gif.
Of course, I’m sure CNN would have figured that out too if they hadn’t had all their reporters assigned to ignoring ballot stuffing in FL, GA and AZ.
This is an apple…
So there was only one camera in the room? We only have one version of the video? That’s curious.
The spin was that the White House released a “doctored” video of the event that made it appear worse than it was.
So let’s ignore that Acosta was a giant asshole. Instead let’s talk about how the WH is all about Fake News! Then as is pointed out by Buzzfeed, it turns out that the more likely culprit is that when they converted the media some frames got dropped. It wasn’t some nefarious plan.
By the way, Storyful, the “social media intelligence agency” seems like a sham put together by journolos to give cover to the MSM for any wild accusation they want to make.
Every one of these “non-partisian” fact checking entities seems to be a pro proggie sham/scam, but I keep getting told they are totes legit.
Someone said it the other day: put your hands on someone’s wife or daughter like that and find out what actual, normal men think of it.
The issue to me is more that Acosta treats the White House pressers as his personal virtue-signaling show.
He’s generally an asshole who won’t abide by the presser rules that have existed for ages and should have been ejected along time ago. The only reason he hasn’t is that Trump feeds off the interaction as well.
“Do you think CNN is getting real tired of the Internet yet?”
They’re counting on their intertoob puppets, Twitter and Derpbook, to cleanse the unbleevers from the intertoobz for them.
WSJ was highlighting the doctored video at the top of their homepage yesterday. They sure do hate Trump.
I watched both videos side by side, frame by frame. I can’t tell what the hell they are complaining about. They look identical with the exception of one being zoomed in on Acosta dropping a bow on the intern.
That’s because you are not woke enough..
I remember reading about some experiment where they looked at how people’s biases allowed them to see or not see whatever would negatively impact what they wanted to see, and the ability for solipsistic self delusion seems to be strong with people invested in the cult of marxism.
CNN is not a fan of gifs ever since…the incident.
TOO SOON
“Do you think CNN is getting real tired of the Internet yet?”
I suspect that while they despise the fact that they lost the monopoly on what is and ins’t reported, they are not really worried about their base finding out the truth (or for that matter caring that they were fed a bunch of lies). Considering how bad CNN is, I feel safe saying that people that watch CNN and claim they do so for serious news, usually are really there for the echo chamber effect, and not so much any sort of news. Those of us that watch it for the comic effect or just to see how fucking insane the proggie asshats are can attest to CNN not really caring much about the facts of what they report as much as making sure they are helping team blue out with their constant low intelligence editorializing.
“Florida governor Rick Scott is suing Broward County for some serious shenanigans. Understandably so.”
“The Florida official put in charge of counting votes in Broward County — the most liberal county in the state — for the gubernatorial and Senate race previously destroyed voter ballots, a judge ruled, and was most recently accused of not removing dead voters from the voter rolls.”
Just give me a little more time, I need to look in my bathroom closet, I think I saw a box of votes in there.
Good grief, why the hell is this person allowed to count votes? I would think that destroying ballots is a pretty serious crime.

The puppy was allegedly attacked by the hawk? Is the hawk going to sue for libel?
Sounds like old wildlife specialist Barry has never actually seen a hawk before. I’d have them swoop down and kill chickens 20 feet from me without hesitation. Our dogs were never left outside unattended as young puppies for this reason.

Sounds like a case for STEVE SMITH, prominent forest lawyer.
Or Charlie Kelly, bird lawyer

You know, based on their portrayal on the left, I wonder why I don’t get into payday lending. I mean, it seems like the easiest money on the planet. You charge exorbitant rates and always get paid back. What is not to like.
Sure the FDIC is trying to run you out of business with Operation Chokepoint
Why claw your way to the top of a federal agency if you can’t threaten the peasants, amirite?
Taking away the option that the poor are choosing. That’ll help them.
The solution is obviously to outlaw lending standards for traditional banks so that people with no ability to repay can qualify.
And then demand you be allowed to fix this problem you blame on capitalism (despite the fact it had nothing to do with it) by doubling down on the same SJW stupidity that caused the problem in the first case, right? Dodd & Frank approve this message…
People with poor impulse control should be prevented from exercising said poor impulse choices. Start off by banning the things that trigger that poor impulse, then set up a system that completely removes the ability to make choices from them so they are not tempted into making the “wrong” choice.
I worked in one for about 2 years. Yup, it pays well but, you don’t always get paid.
The biz offered two types of loans.
1) You could borrow up to $200 and leave a check post-dated for two weeks.
come back then, pay $222 or $22 and leave another check. Repeat up to 3 times
pay off in full and start again. Also able to pay down principle over those 3 times.
2) Installment loan- borrow up to $600 and your work would pay us over 90 days (iirc)
interest on these were 522% apr lol
one of my regulars for the check loan was a Lake Co IL judge. never understood
why he was broke.
So there’s another take on Robin Hood coming to the theaters, why do I feel this one (like almost all of the others) is going to ignore the whole repressive government taxation that was the reason he went into the woods?
Bah, he went into the woods to help the progressive hero government save the peasants from the heartless republicans and evil one percenters.
One more in a long list of movies that absolutely did not need to be remade.
According to the people that need to rebrand government as the good guy and the rich as the evil people, it needs to be remade until the serfs get that only government redistribution of wealth can produce a fair society.
The Kevin Costner one is perhaps the finest movie of all time.
Well. Not in a classical sense. But in an enjoyment sense. Alan Rickman is indeed delightful. My brother and I always get stoned and MST3K it when I come home to visit.
We are all aware that the best movie of all time is–verily–Bloodsport. Nothing beats this.
That’s awesome
The Kevin Costner one is perhaps the finest movie of all time
Errol Flynn and Olivia deHavilland are proof that it’s not even the finest Robin Hood movie.
Another with Rickman that’s in the running for best movie ever is Quigley Down Under.
The main reason isn’t Rickman, although he’s running a close second. The main reason QDU is in that running is Tom Selleck’s co-star, the Sharps rifle.
Well, that and Laura San Giacomo’s breasts.
I’ll bet you own a Sharps, don’t you?
I actually don’t. But there’s plenty of room left on the rack, and a good replica Sharps has been on my “need” list for some time.
And yes, Laura San Giacomo’s breasts added a lot to the movie.
Uh, I saw a commercial wherein one of the lines was “You’re taking your own money back.” For that reason, I shall go see it.
I finally figured out what all this “popular senate vote” bullshit is. From my derpbook feed:
Senate Popular Vote
Democrats 55.4%
Republicans 43.0%
Republicans Pick Up 3 Seats
That doesn’t look like democracy to me.
(Originally posted by the incredibly dishonest group The Other 98%)
So, no such things as individual races, or the concept of senate seats coming open at different times.
Cali could just form their own country, then no worries about having a one party system.
I think this goes beyond Cali and is a direct consequence of shitty public education that replaced basic civics, economics, and common sense with marxist drivel. Uneducated stupid fucks really think mob rule is fine because they expect to always be in the majority and have no understanding why we have the system of government we have (as well as how that was responsible for the US being unique and successful in this world).
I hear this is the worst country ever and especially for women. I mean, I actually hear that daily from the woke ones who want to fix it.
Sounds legit
What does that person mean it ‘doesn’t look like Democracy’ to them?
The best I can come up with is ‘one person, one vote’ tally it all up and voila! Democracy!
Never mind about all those tiresome and irksome nuances of human nature relating to power and control. Tyranny of the majority? That’s for whypippo.
I also wonder were they ever concerned about the system when they were winning? I’m going to bet money on the Carolina Panthers that’s a no.
Senate pop vote is a thing?
“What does that person mean it ‘doesn’t look like Democracy’ to them?”
It means the person promising me free shit, lost.
Senate pop vote is a thing?
It’s a meme, not a thing. The national vote intentionally has fuck-all to do with Senate elections. The Founders, having read the experiences of old dead white men pretty carefully, understood that direct democracy in settings larger than a small city pretty much always leads to tyranny. They worked really hard to balance the wisdom of the citizens against the outrage of the mob.
direct democracy in settings larger than a small city pretty much always leads to tyranny.
Socrates would like a word with you.
Too bad they voted him dead.
I’m pretty sure it’s an agitprop collective. They use a pernicious combination of facts and misdirection. It’s very effective propaganda and always targets low-information voters.
Next thing you know they’ll be rewriting World Series history by giving the trophy to the teams that scored more runs.
Only if it was their team that would benefit from this stupidity.
Or both candidates in the CA race being Dems.
This. They are literally counting every vote for both candidates in a state-wide race in the most populous state. It’s fucking idiotic.
Democrats also won more seats. Most of the Senate races were won by Democratic incumbents. Their argument basically boils down to: “I got paid $50 on Tuesday, while Jimmy working the same job got paid $100 on Tuesday” without noting that Jimmy worked twice the number of hours.
^This guy gets it.
Isn’t that the basic definition used by the SJW crowd that demands equality of outcome and is so opposed to the partiarchical system that rewards based on merit?
Or the entire state of California not being allowed to vote for anyone but a Democrat or a Democrat. That’s gonna run up the numbers.
That, and selectively not caring about the Electoral College, until that tilts in their favor, then they’ll be totes for it.
Worse than that. Didn’t even compare number of races and how many won D and how many won R, just how many “flipped”. It’s multiple layers of retarded.
And didn’t account for the fact that an election cycle that happens to be disproportionately Deep Blue states won by Ds is gonna skew the numbers.
I’m betting the next election cycle skewed toward Team Red incumbents is gonna have this meme go reeeal silent.
So, no such things as individual races, or the concept of senate seats coming open at different times.
80 percent of the people espousing this bullshit are just exhibiting mendacity. If you push them on it, they’ll admit as much. People, progs especially, are more than willing to lie through their teeth to get their way. They may do it through cognitive dissonance, by flat out lying, or by intentionally staying ignorant of certain facts, but they’re very much aware that they’re hawking a view that isnt well thought out and isn’t necessarily theirs.
Got a tooth yanked today. First adult tooth lost. Oh well. Procedure went easy as pie, but the gap is still tender. They gave me some Voltaren (diclophenac) for the pain. Anyone try that stuff before?
Voltaren cream? Yeah, I’e used it on a sore back, but never put it in my mouth. I guess it would work.
25 mg pills. Last night, when the toothache was in full anger fit, I woulda smeared that in my mouth. I ended up taking 5 Bufferin instead. Didn’t work at all.
I had a toothache just recently. May have to take it out. Would be my first lost adult tooth as well. Advil worked for me.
Believe it or not for a toothache a workable pain reliever is to stick a clove or two between your cheek and gum next to the tooth. Won’t make the pain go away entirely but it will bring it to managable levels
There is a reason that the nerves in your mouth are one of the most sensitive ones…

I am a political independent who left the Republican Party. Tomorrow I will not vote for a single Republican. I will vote for their Democratic opponents.
Many Americans will join me.
On Wednesday morning the Republican Party can blame two men: Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
Looks like Twitter is okay with his hate filled Tweets.
Amazing. I don’t know if there are two people I loathe more in Dorsey and Zuckerberg.
At least FB has some sort of public guidelines. Twitter is just whatever Jack feels like banning.
“Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.”
God, these people are so dumb, you can just plant the most simpleton idea in their feeble head and it can last for years, they’ll just blindly follow it. A few days ago one of my wife’s ‘friends’ felt the need to go on another Trump rant and so my wife asked her specifically what she doesn’t like about Trump. She sent my wife a picture of Putin. How do you deal with such geniuses?
Was your wife’s friend also a “boofing” truther?
If that’s included in being a fucking moron, then yes.
About that dude shot by police in MD after Red Flag order
I would really like more info on this case. Who called in the red flag? A family member he argued with? Inquiring minds want to know/
Wrongthink happened. It was corrected. Move on citizen, nothing more to see here.
Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who’s gonna do it? You? You, westernsloper? I have a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for Willis and you curse the police. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know; that Willis’s death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, *saves lives*. You don’t want the truth because deep down in places you don’t talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it! I would rather you just said “thank you” and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a *damn* what you think you are entitled to!
You’re goddamn right I ordered the
code redred flagWell-done.
Bravo, Mr. Nicholson.
*Standing ovation- and a nomination for an Oscar
And fuck that was a short, shitty fall. First snow is falling here in NE Ohio.
I had to shovel this morning. I guess I’m not driving the Triumph to work today.
I never figured you for one of them sissy metro drivers Tundra.
To be fair, out state drivers were probably just as bad. They just didn’t have the State Patrol called when they went into the ditch. Those numbers back up a buddy of mine’s long time decision to never, ever drive to work on the first day of snowfall in Minnesoda.
I know how you feel. I had to turn on the heat for the first time this year yesterday.
Oh, the heat had to go on a couple weeks back. Upper 30’s, low 40’s during the night and only upper 40’s during the day. But it’s the rain that’s really annoying me. FFS, it’s like Seattle here, it just keeps raining every gods damned weekend.
Reminds me of a blizzard we had 7 years ago. 4 foot drift in my driveway, fortunately I had the car at the end of it so it only took two hours to dig out and get the car on the road.
And when I get on the road, I mean unplowed roads. There had been enough traffic on the main roads that they were passable with 6-7 inches of snow/slush on them, but traffic was a third of what it normally was, and speed was about half. The side streets were almost impassable without 4 wheel drive, at least a foot of snow not counting the icy ruts of the wheels that drove over the snow previously. As I headed back home, I turn onto a side street and see an idiot in a 944 going about 2 miles an hour, trying not to sideswipe the parked cars. I rarely see expensive cars in my neighborhood in the summer, why take out the car on the worst driving day of the year??? Even if you can get the wheels onto the packed down snow, you still have all the other snow scraping your undercarriage. Fools and their money.
Has anyone noticed something? BESIDES IF ANYONE IS WORKING?
There’s a new group the progressive left are going after and I have to admit I didn’t think of it: White women.
Smash the MATRIARCHY?!
Ya, I noticed. Seems the educated white women get a pass though because as they like to point out, educated white women usually vote correctly.
I’m thinking at one point the educated white women will realize that they are the target of collectivized hate by people who say they are allies, and start questioning a few things.
It’s been 60 years with the blacks and we’re still waiting on that one…
“It’s a bold strategy Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off for him.”
White women aren’t real women in the same way black republicans aren’t real blacks.
Yeah, it’s been…interesting seeing how much vitriol the progs have towards white women. Here I thought they were all about female empowerment and what-not.
Yeah, my fiancee can’t understand why about half of white women were traitors and didn’t vote their vaginas.
Even though I tell her why … briefly.
I’ve been seeing that, too. Easier since I don’t work.
The worst vitriol seems to be coming from black women trying to police the speech of their white allies. I’ve seen a number of “Thanks, WyWimmins, but STFU” screeds recently.
My guess is that it’s a power play by black feminists to take over all the leadership posts in feminist organizations.
Hopefully this attempt to enforce ideological compliance will backfire on them. There are already enough feminists, including a very large silent bloc, who are not happy about the transinclusivity. Abuse those people enough and they’ll defect or simply exit politics.
These people are not well in the head.
That’s actually not new. I heard the same grumblings after the last election (2016).
Every one of these idiots rides this band wagon hoping that by showing their religious fervor/fanaticism, the evil movement they are part of will feed them last the the alligator. Fucking idiots the lot of them that they don’t understand the old adage that those that live by the sword will die by the sword.
I let my lab out this morning and immediately hear her start barking and running after something. I figured it was a possum and didn’t think much of it until I heard bleating. I got shoes and a flashlight just in time to see my dog drag down a deer and pin it by the throat.
I now have a full of herself dog and an injured deer stuck in my backyard.
Tell me your dog is a chihuahua.
Heh heh..
Well get that thing out of the back yard and hanging in the garage. Don’t want to freak out the neighbors.
If it’s still there by noon I’m calling my hunting coworker to shoot it. Wonder if that’s against the HOA covenant.
Uffda. How sickly is it? You don’t own a bat? Or a tire iron?
Got any bowhunting buddies? No one will ever know.
Assuming he buries the gut pile.
On the other hand, it would seem that a decent person would leave the gut pile in the back yard for the lab. She earned it. After she eats the choice parts, she can let it fester a few days before rolling in it. She’ll be the prettiest dog in the HOA.
Every dog in the neighborhood will be jealous of her smell.
My old mutt once found a half dead deer in a tree row in western NoDak and rolled around in it for 10 minutes before I figured out what he was up to.
Holy shit did he smell bad after that. But he was so pleased with himself. It was 40 miles back to town that we had to drive with all the windows open. Then we had to ask the nice lady who ran the hotel if we could use her hose to give him a bath.
The whole time he was getting a bath it was like pouring holy water on a vampire (and this is a lab mix that loves the water). “I smell so pretty! What are you idiots doing?”
I am assuming it is small if a lab took it down, so rope it, drag it into the garage and put one in the back of the noggin. Turn the music up if your neighbors are close.
True story…
I was driving with my ex-BIL to a Christmas party at my house (at that time in E. Hartford) we were late for (we had gone deer hunting), and ran into a real bad accident where some lady had totaled her car hitting a huge buck (12 pointer) that now had 4 broken legs and was still alive and stopping all traffic on RT 91. We promptly shot the thing (to put it out of everyone’s misery), hauled it and the lady’s car to the side, and waited for the cops. The cop shows up to take a report 15 mins later, and when asked, let us take the damned thing home because otherwise he would have to call in some animal control asshat, and wait for the dude to come get it, and on Christmas day that was not going to be something quick.
We promptly drove home, hung that sucker in my garage, and cleaned that baby out before joining the party going on (I will spare you me ex-wife and ex-SIL reactions) and completely forgot about the deer hanging in the garage. Party is a smashing success, and as we are walking everyone out way past 3 AM I realize my garage door is open with lights on, and that huge deer hanging there. I close the thing, turn off the lights, and go to bed.
The next Monday our town paper shows up and front cover is a picture of the deer hanging in my garage under the caption “Hunters murder Rudolph and ruin my kid’s Christmas”. Turns out the fucking nutjob divorced lady (guess why she was divorced?) that lived across from me had taken the picture and sent in that article complaining about how the town should not just fine me, but ban hinting, as her kids now were suffering from depression after seeing the deer hanging and had asked her if we had killed Santa too.
I promptly walked over to her house, rang the bell, and told her yes, Santa had been hanging in the other garage bay, but we kept that closed because our guests where all taking a stab at his ass before we gutted the SOB for shorting us all or presents the year before and went back home.
Um your dog is putting meat in your freezer
euphemism for his frigid wife?
BADDABOOM!
Free dog food, dude!
The crackdown on VPN in China has made using internet very frustrating there (okay here). Three years ago in Beijing I would turn on VPN and 10 seconds later everything would work just like outside China. This week I’m in Shanghai–two out of three best rated VPNs don’t work at all. The third one works only occasionally and not for a long time. Which means I cannot access my Gmail-based emails on the laptop, dropbox doesn’t update, and so on. Supposedly the Chinese are especially adamant about this stuff when there’s a big event taking place. Well, some kind of international Expo is taking place in Shanghai this week. If I were a foreign businessman considering doing/expanding business in China, I would decide against it just because of this internet BS.
You’re giving the progs a massive boner.
It’s like hearing tales from the future
Another thing: the Interactive Brokers app doesn’t launch on my laptop without VPN. In other words, the cost of visiting China now includes not being able to make adjustments to your portfolio. That makes it prohibitively expensive.
Hospital fires man who wore T-shirt with noose, Confederate flag to Mississippi poll
To say nothing about his…um…fashion choice, it’s pretty disturbing that we’ve come to the point where our neighbors are nothing more than informants. This probably adds to distrust among people more than peoples’ politics.
I support this kind of thing in principle – at-will employment and all that. At the same time I lament the days when your work life was separate from your personal life and your employer didn’t spy on you like a domineering parent.
this.
My time is my time. If you expect me to represent the company 24 hours a day, you better start paying me 24 hours a day.
Put that same shirt on a black guy and you have quite a different situation.
I’m a hypocrite, but I comepletely lost sympathy for the guy when I found out he was bad enough to get terminated from the police department.
“Florida governor Rick Scott is suing Broward County for some serious shenanigans. Understandably so.”
All fraudulent votes count!
Lindsey Graham, an unmarried man, is often the target of homophobic attacks, with liberal critics using speculation over his sexuality as a weapon to degrade him.
After Graham’s defense of Brett Kavanaugh amid allegations of sexual misconduct in September, left-wing celebrities once again fell back on homophobia to attack him.
Rosie O’Donnell called Graham a “closeted idiot,” while Kathy Griffin referred to him as “Miss Lindsey Graham.”
“Oh lookee lookee here. Miss Lindsey Graham doesn’t have the balls to speak up today does she? #KavanaughHearings” Griffin said in a social media post.
So Antifa and Smash Racism are going to protest this anti-LGBT language, right? RIGHT?
I’ll get back to you on that once my very progressive and super LGBT allied friends apologize to Trump for all the jokes they’ve made about him sucking Russian dicks.
But, it was in the Steele Dossier. Are you a conspiracy theory denier, bigot?
Welp, you found this shitlord out. Take me away, officers.
Let me know the first time anyone apologizes for using the phrase “teabagger” for someone who was a “tea party” member.
I’ll let you know when I find out too.
I love the hypocrisy of progs like KG misgendering Graham and getting a pass on it. If it was someone else who slipped and called a transgender person by the wrong pronoun there’d be hell to pay.
I heard that with these proggie identity groups as long as you were part of the tribe, and of course, the other person was not, you got a “Get out of jail free” card no matter what you said or did that was taboo for said non-tribe member to do or say, Tonio.
YouTube users are running into fake and dangerous videos, study finds
Who knew that the problem with social conservatives wasn’t that they were moral scolds, it was that they had the wrong politics
“dangerous videos”
Is that more like dangerous video games or dangerous books?
They’re not just fake. They’re fake AND dangerous. Dangerous! Don’t you see?
I wonder how many of the books from that thread the other night would be called “dangerous” by the shining examples of humanity at Pew?
Worse – dangerous ideas.
Who fucking cares?
Are they suggesting that books with stupid, false, and generally unwise advice never existed?
I saw some graffiti on the bathroom stall. Suzie DID NOT want to have a good time. We need new regulations.
The latest issue of Teen Vogue I got told me that going ass to mouth was OK.
You mean in the Defense of Marx article?
They did, but you see we solved that problem by burning those dangerous books. It’s time for some burnin. Fahrenheit 2019, here we come. Onward to our glorious prog utopia.
No, it’s part of the continued attacks on new media, case in point: How video games are fuelling the rise of the far right.
That doesn’t sound scary at all.
GYP!
I’m a victim of these dangerous videos on YouTube.
Several times in the past, I have watched a video on there that makes it seem as if it is easy and within my capabilities to do some car repair. After watching a few of them, I have become emboldened to actually take parts off of my car! What sort of monster lets shit like that happen? Do you know how humiliating it is to have your mechanic ask you how all the bolts in your car became stripped or crossthreaded?
^ This is so true.
There should be warning on these videos: “CAUTION- You Have No Idea What You are Doing”
Yeh, they make it sound like it’s so easy to remove handle bars on a race bike but it’s actually a little more complicated. I tried once and never again. I just don’t have the natural mechanic gene.
Also.
WATCH BEN SHAPIRO DESTROY SJW SNOWFLAKES!
Come to think of it, I don’t have much an anything gene.
/sad muppet walk away.
Before you get too sad, remember some people have diarrhea in their genes.
Everyone has everything figured out on youtube except me.
I own a pair of cycling sunglasses with removable lenses. I for the life of me can’t seem to remove them no matter how many times the girl on youtube makes it look easy.
Try looking at the sunglasses, not the girl.
I had a pair of metal frame sunglasses that i couldn’t get the lenses out of. I held them under running hot water for a minute. The lenses popped right out after that.
“I’m a victim of these dangerous videos on YouTube.”
Could have been worse, you could have clicked a HM link.
He has done a masterful job of creating a twisted Skinner box situation where I’m never sure if the link will go to hot asian twerking or …. something else *stared off into the distance*
I had to go to youtube this morning for just this purpose because the (*&(%*^%(&^)^ morons at Chrysler do not seem to have considered the fact that headlights blow out and will need to be replaced and you might not want to have to disassemble half of your friggin car to be able to do so. As it stands I do not think I am physically capable of doing the job because my hands are just too damned fat to fit into the space. The alternative is to remove the entire headlight assembly so you can easily reach the back side of it, but again the morons screwed that up, you need to take the god damned bumper off in order to access the bolts holding the headlamp assembly on.
Tell me would hunting down the engineers responsible for this and enacting violence on them be a violation of the NAP or is it justified?
Lots of us are armed and experienced BTW.
Cars are compromises, of course, and no one fought their over-complication more than me in the past three decades. The general trend through the 1980s was to restore service access that had been lost as things got crowded under the hood in the 1970s; for the record, I was very good at that. But through the 1990s quality and durability improved so much that service access lost it’s primacy: who needs easy access to a spark plug if it’s only changed every ten years?
My own petard: if it makes you feel any better, the last automotive firm I worked with has a lighting plant in Seymour, IN; my big ugly truck’s tail lamps were built there, and I have nothing but trouble from them.
Yeah spark plugs is another fiasco with this design. A couple of months ago I had to get it it’s first tune up (140k miles so yeah go reliability) but you had to remove the exhaust manifold to access the plugs
Yep. Our old (2005) PT Cruiser required the removal of a front wheel to access the wee hatch behind the headlamps. My older (1991) Ford Probe required the removal of a front wheel to change the air filter. I need another “ass-engined, NAZI, slot-car“.
I knew my kid was a true shitlord and not just a video game playing knucklehead. Now Science proves it. He’s infected with technomasculinity (“an expression of masculinity that is oriented toward the mastery of technology and skilled use of technological tools and systems.”).
Tits or GTFO
Looks like it’s on it’s way out. Fuck it, I still use “groovy”.
Paglia is right, we’re doomed.

You just have to get your kid that new Tactical Sandwich making game and you’re golden. Might be on to something here for you geeks. Who will be the one to write:
Sandwich Soldiers. The Pastrami of Death!
FPFP (First Player Food Preparation) games will be all the rage. Your character will have to back to the kitchen to restore health and level up. Mission packs will be to venture out of the house to vote for GOP candidates.
Excellent! Also mission packs to be the good guy with a gun and blow away potential mass shooters and sheriffs deputies hiding behind their cars. Then back to the kitchen to prepare a reverse seared rib eye which unlocks more automatic weapons.
“technomasculinity”
Fallout 76 is already full of these technomasculinist and it’s not even released yet. They just go around killing people who are not also afflicted with technomasculinity. They refer to anyone not raging with homicidal levels of technomasculinity as ‘Care Bears’. This scourge must be stopped! Do they have any classes on this in our esteemed higher education system?
So basically, anything men do well is oppressing women.
Nice.
Can we now dispense with the pretense that what these people object to is “toxic” masculinity? For these guys, all masculinity is “toxic”. It’s masculinity itself that they object to, even when it’s the only thing that allows them to continue their miserable existence.
Hierarchized binary? so it’s a hierarchy with two fucking levels? and you coined a term to say that? Not x is better than y at a, while y is better than x at b, but ‘hierarchized binary’.
Do you progs understand how hard I am trying to hold on to my principles? That every damn hour I force myself to stop thinking how nice it would be if you all fucked off and died?
Bad Jarflax! Even tards deserve to live their kickass lives! Even people who vote D are human beings deserving of the Golden Rule’s protection.
You know what else is a choice? Being a Democrat. Democrats weren’t born Democrats, they chose to be Democrats!
Watching F1 coverage, I’m reminded that Brasil’s national motto is Ordem e Progresso.
Is there a jurisdiction or organization who’s motto is closer to Fuck Off ?
The “Ordem e Progresso” motto reflects the philosophy of Positivism that was a central part of Brazil’s founding.
The closest thing to “Fuck Off” that I’ve ever heard is “Live Free or Die”. Well done, New Hampshire

I’m not sure who’s with me, but it’s way past time that we stop letting minor judges run the country.
Until there’s a cost to them for fragrantly violating the limits of their authority, it’s not going to happen.
Exactly. Before they lost the House, they really needed to impeach some of these fucks. That would require them to have gonads, however.
I John-O’d that one.
It’s alright, Scruff. At least now we know which side your bread is buttered on.
I love the smell of petroleum in the morning: it smells like profit.
I heard the news last night on the CBC. The presenter may as well have been rubbing one out on live air.
…who then left the studio in his gas-powered SUV to his comfortable home filled with plastic and heated by NG while planning his next vacation to Hawaii in an airplane powered by Jet A…
Mais oui!
had failed to adequately explain why it had lifted a ban on the project.
What? I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. We live in a world where the court stops a president from rescinding a constitutionally dubious e.o. and where the president accepting the resignation of someone who serves at the pleasure of the president constitutes a “constitutional crisis”.
At the same time I lament the days when your work life was separate from your personal life and your employer didn’t spy on you like a domineering parent.
Henry Ford says “Hi”.
I think the people who want to enforce their definition of wrongthink rules on their political opponents 24/7 would be aghast at the thought that their boss could routinely send somebody to their home (as Ford did) to ensure they were living a clean and moral life.
speaking of Brasil, Ford built a plant (Fordlandia?) upriver that collapsed after its authoritarianism was rejected and all the talent melted into the jungle.
Good old Milton Snaveley Hershey, if I recall correctly, ran his factory and town similarly to a religious cult.
So, Willy Wonka was actually darker than we thought.
A race traitor, if you will. I had the original Willy Wonka and the illustrations made damn sure that the slaves were pygmies.
Also, Kellogg.
Yes. I highly recommend “The Road to Wellville” by TC Boyle.
A fun read and a sadly mis-constructed film. Ah well, we got to see Lara Flynn Boyle’s perky green boobs, so there is that.
VA is Sic Semper Tyrannis, and the state seal is a topless Liberty standing on the corpse of a tyrant.
And people say irony is dead.
So, anyway, I was thinking about this yesterday, for no particular reason-
How many of the historically illiterate monkeys who whoop and howl about the evil “1%” of capitalism understand just how wealthy and powerful the “1%” of communism are? Comparatively speaking, there’s no contest.
Not true they were not as relatively rich everyone knows. They had countries of slaves but that dont count
Under capitalism those that manage to acquire wealth will also garner power, but under socialism, only the powerful will ever get wealthy (see Venezuela).
I went on a Talking Heads jag this morning after work. Found this gem. Ole David still has the moves plus St. Vincent (sigh)… https://youtu.be/hpPYKJAnwUo
That’s an entertaining album. Kind of a throwback to the Talking Head days.
And St. Vincent has got that 80’s dominatrix sex fiend vibe.

Her shtick changed quite a bit once she started collabing with Byrne. A few years ago she was more indie hipster.
Also she’s gay, so don’t go getting any ideas.
Also she’s gay, so don’t go getting any ideas.
It’s way too late for that.
I knew and I didn’t care. She’s the kinda girl that I used to lust after. Smart, leggy and weird. You can’t control my lusty thoughts Pat!!!!!1
Go on…
“E-cigs have become an almost ubiquitous — and dangerous — trend among teens,” Gottlieb said in September. “The disturbing and accelerating trajectory of use we’re seeing in youth, and the resulting path to addiction, must end. It’s simply not tolerable.”
Maybe you leave the “tolerating” stuff to their parents.
My kid came home yesterday bearing tales of discussions of the minimum wage hike that just passed here in Missouri. I am pleased to report that one student (when asked, “What do you think about minimum wage?”) said it was a bad idea, that if every job were $12, then all other prices would rise so it made everything equal again. My kid said something along the lines of a starting phlebotomist makes $12-$14 an hour and why was burger flipping more important? The teacher went on to explain why this was exactly right. He also explained those jobs were for kids, not for someone to live off of.
This is the second history teacher in 2 years who get it. Her last one had a Gadsden flag in his room and regularly railed against socialism. Kids take it from a teacher better than they take it from a parent. I also find hope that at least one student spoke up to an open-ended question like that and got it right. Her parents must also get it.
My son had a couple of very libertarian teachers in both middle school and high school. It absolutely makes an impression, but I still think those dining room table discussions at home are critical.
My 18 year old got his first “real” paycheck, looked at the taxes, turned to me, and said “Taxation is theft.” Those dining room discussions can pay off.
Had a similar experience with my son…
Warmed my heart.
I didn’t even have to say a word to my teens about the minimum wage or child labor laws. They wanted summer jobs last year just so they could have pocket money and would have been extatic for someone willing to pay them $5 an hour for 15 – 20 hours a week but couldn’t understand why no one would hire them. When I told them that the minimum wage existed and it was illegal for someone to let them work for less than $10 per hour they were instantly pissed off at the government for interfering and “screwing up their lives”.
“Is there a jurisdiction or organization who’s motto is closer to Fuck Off ?”
Pretty much all Brazilians. No matter if they are for certain rules or not, they break all of them.
This reminds me of a history professor I had in college (in the ’70s, mind you) who had spent ten years or so living in Brazil.
He said Brazilians would rise up and kill all the policemen and burn down down City Hall if the government tried to control them the way the American government controlled us.
Put it this way. Try to put a yellow fence around a beer tent at some event and tell them they have to stay in there with their beer.
I like that Scott is taking the fight to them.
You wanna stop these shenanigans? You hire an army of lawyers to dedicate their lives to ruining everyone involved. Cut off their fucking heads and put them on pikes as a warning to everyone else. Sue, sue, sue. Prosecute, prosecute, prosecute. When they beg you to stop, you sue them again. Sooner or later an example is going to have to be made out of these corruptocrats and this is the perfect time. No-nuts Sessions is gone, send the DoJ down to crack skulls. Personally bankrupt these fuckers in civil court. Fight dirty and be relentless.
“No-nuts Sessions”
The new guy looks like he has some balls at least.
Multi balls, the most balls. Tremendous balls, really. All the balls! Next question.
Rethuglicans pushig fraud myths cause they are loosers
Goddamn. For an ESL guy you sure have picked up the diction. I can’t even imagine trying to tell a joke in French and I was trained in it for six years.
I made a German laugh once
but just once
a new movie notes that chicks are verbal
That encapsulates every French class that I took. Girls were better at it. I went on an exchange program to Montreal when I was 14 and although I didn’t need to parle Francais I sure picked up alot and everyone of my grades went from C’s and B’s to strait A’s for a short and glorious time. A second language helps you to understand the underpinnings of your own spoken tongue, makes your brain work in a different direction.
They’re going to say that anyways. The Dems pulled a straight hatchet job and nobody balked
Federal Judge to MD: Redraw that Shit
Federal judges in Maryland on Wednesday blocked the state from using its congressional voting map in future elections, ordering political leaders to draw new electoral lines for contests in 2020.
The three-judge panel unanimously threw out the congressional map in a long-running partisan gerrymandering case. The decision gives Maryland officials until March to submit a new redistricting plan.
The office of Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh (D), which defended the map, said Wednesday that it is reviewing its options. Legislative leaders declined to comment on the court’s order.
MD will now be slightly less blue.
“MD will now be slightly less blue.”
Or, it means only Balmer City votes count. I suspect the latter. This place is more corrupt than some countries in Sub Saharan Africa. Balmer City would most definitely elect Robert Mugabe, no doubt about it.
This time at least, it should go to 6-2 instead of the current 7-1. I am too young to remember when it was 4-4.
We still elect a squishy squashy wishy washy dem lite republican as governor. At least we still have that instead of Been Jealous a long time. I think Hogan lasted all of the first month of his first term before they cut off his ballz and put em in a jar and made him get up in front of the camera and proclaim his moral outrage against the evil orange one destroying our democracy.
I remember 4-4 and 6-2. Roscoe Bartlett and Marjorie Holt. But with the current blue shade in Annapolis, I’m sure they’ll figure out some way to keep anything from changing. Unless they can divide up the Eastern Shore and turn that blue as well.
Yes, I’m depressing. I’m a libertarian in Maryland, my baseball team is the Orioles, and I prefer DC to Marvel. I expect to lose at all times. 🙂
“I’m a libertarian in Maryland”
You’re not the only one, but I’m sure there are times all 4 of us get depressed. And you can’t really get far away enough and still drive to work here even a few times a week. I’ve looked at Frederick and NOVA and the progs done fucked up both of those.
I think all 4 of us are on this site as well. At a minimum we have you two, me and naptown bill. Are there any others?
I can’t keep track. There may be a few more.
I always count OMWC as a native son/somebody who had the sense to get out.
Um, *waves hands frantically in front of Rasilio*
I couldn’t get far enough away anyway – father and his wife here, inlaws here, and we’ve finally got the homeschool system figured out and don’t want to learn a new one. But even the future dream of retirement as escape took a hit Tuesday – where exactly in this country (or world for that matter) hasn’t been prog-infested to the point that it’s on the way to oblivion?
I’m looking at Elk Mountain, WY.
New Hampshire, Wyoming, maybe the Dakotas.
That’s about it.
Locally I work in Annapolis, I’ve been starting to wonder if western Delaware might not be better. Commuting from Middletown to Annapolis would be a PITA but it is doable
My inlaws have a beautiful place on a lake in New Hampshire, so every year I get up there for the summer and say “I have to live here.” About five minutes later I say “Does anybody have a job in this state?” According to their paper, the answer is no, unless you count hourly or living in NH and commuting to MA.
“New Hampshire, Wyoming, maybe the Dakotas.”
I have to figure that NH will be overrun by the prog hordes from MA before long. They always gobble up the locations nearest them to ruin first, just like they did their former shitholes.
Just like what DC overflow did with Virginia. Now the entire state will turn deep blue because of an area a very small percentage of the entire state but with most of the population.
You’re probably safe for quite a while in Dakotas or Wyoming.
I know a few people who commute from Delaware to Annapolis. It helps if you don’t have to do it every day. Myself, the next move is likely going to be along Rt. 2 somewhere between Solomons and Mayo. I won’t be able to pull off the evac move until my kids are older, most likely, so in the mean time I’m aiming for heading to parts of Maryland where there aren’t that many people I want to run over on a daily basis. Southern Maryland is a good cultural fit, plus we’re still close enough to family.
Ugh the Orioles, and now the Ravens are forever in a 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 purgatory.
Ravens may start to get better after this year.
Flacco will definitely be gone, Ozzie is already gone, and Harbaugh may well be gone.
I don’t know if Lamar Jackson is the answer at QB or if he is going to be just another athletic QB whose game does not translate to the NFL but at this point it is pretty clear Joe was never more than a mediocre QB and he struggles to reach that level these days so moving on will only be a good thing.
My hope is a team like Tampa will be desperate enough to get rid of Winston that they give up a couple of 3rds for Flacco.
That’s not happening with Flacco’s salary although part of me wonders if Jacksonville might not have jumped at the chance to swap a 3rd next year for Flacco at the trade deadline this year as he is clearly better than Bortles and they are a QB away from being a legit Superbowl contender.
Problem is that would have required the Ravens to give up on the season when the Playoffs are still very much in play for them
Are there any teams out there who are a “game-manager” QB away from the Super Bowl? Because if there are, have I got a deal for them.
In post-season, he becomes Super Joe.
Now the challenge is to actually get to the post season.
I’m optimistic about Jackson.
Jacksonville is the only one that comes to mind right now, I suppose the Broncos maybe as the next best option? Flacco is probably better than Keenum but the rest of that team has more holes than Jacksonville does
Well, in Mugabe’s defense, I think he presided over better roads.
The road to totaliarism is paved with human skulls?
Also, why is my formatting always fucked up between the second and third paragraphs?
Couldn’t we just dispense with the pretense that states draw their own districts and just have federal judges decree them directly?
Kindergartners with crayons can get the job done.
“Mongo” with a diaper-full would do as well. Fucking idiots trying to grasp that squirming eel that is demographics.

“One of the agents handed him paperwork giving Sandhu 72 hours to produce records about every person who’d worked there in the past three years. Then the agents fired questions at Davenport and the other four employees left in the store: Do you have identification? Where were you born? How long have you been in America?”
Where were you born, boy?
“I was born in East Delhi… uhh, I mean East L.A.”

Edit Faerie alert.
The sneaker scandal prosecution proves
the US is a banana republic now
That’s pretty fucking scary. I’d ask what’s the point, but I know already.
Federal prosecutors are evil.
The same point that Chris “I ate Christmas” Christie and the judge had when they threw those poor schmucks in prison for Ft Dix even after his paid informant recanted in court.
The same point Preet had.
The same point Nifong had.
The same point all the fuckstick US Attorneys have when railroading some nobody, higher office.
Without the ability to grow bananas in most of the country.
The problem is the media and public education. Both need nuked from space. Seriously, the right can fight all they want in the election process, but it will eventually prove futile and the prog horde will rule with an iron fist. The only battles that matter is in education and media. Otherwise, just bend over.
Like Breitbart said, “Politics is downstream of culture”.
I’ll try to find a link, but a while ago I saw a very interesting commentary by Camille Paglia arguing that comparisons between the US and the Roman Republic are incorrect; we’ve already passed the Republic stage and we have much more in common with the Roman Empire. She claims that the courts and media collude to play the part of the Praetorian Guard.
It occurred to me suddenly one day that all governments and all actions are constitutional. The rule of law doesn’t exist: it’s just people obtaining and defending power and twisting whatever they did to justify it. The US has been lucky, but we’re really not exempt from this human tendency: people who want power and the others who suck them.
The Soviet Constituion is full of rights that they routinely usurped or violated.
The only way to maximize freedom is to minimize government; neither prominent American political party is remotely interested in this.
Satanists are suing Netflix over ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’
“Satanists are suing Netflix over ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”
Let me guess, the show failed to portray goat sacrifice in the proper manner?
I heard the wicca were also displeased. And the part about underage orgies
Stephen King sued, too?
This could be awesome: the Family Research Council condemned the show last week. Maybe FRC & TST will file a joint suit against Netflix.
The wife started watching it. And turned it off. Poorly scripted, unnecessarily violent, and plodding. I’d watching the Melissa Joan Hart over this one any day.
I walked by the Wifey watching it last week. “Time-killer” she said.
don’t go getting any ideas.
Try and stop me.
Couldn’t we just dispense with the pretense that states draw their own districts and just have federal judges decree them directly?
I think I had this original idea that representation should have nothing to do with location or formal terms for that matter. Has anyone imagined a system where an individual’s representative authority comes from amassing proxies? We would “vote” for anyone on any occasion by assigning our proxy to him, his authority would be immediate, and the top 435 proxy holders would hold office, the bubble guy constantly at risk of being bumped out of office.
I think if the US were to adopt such a system, it would result in some nice changes.
Reminiscent of the system the Loonies came up with in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I liked the idea, myself.
Also, why is my formatting always fucked up between the second and third paragraphs?
Put another “formatting break” between the end of the quote and your close tags.

Ah, thanks Brooks!
Formating is for suckers
A key part of neo-Marxist, PoMo strategy for destroying objective reality is to trash the concept of beauty. Case in point:
https://www.teenvogue.com/story/victorias-secret-fashion-show-plus-size-transgender-disabled-models-speak-out
This goes not just for female beauty, something that has been held on a pedestal as a source of inspiration to be cherished and protected, but artistic, musical and pure aesthetic beauty. It’s why modern art goes out of its way to be grotesque and talentless. After all, beauty and talent are just more examples of things that are distributed unequally. How does a good little prog deal with that? You redefine beauty and talent into meaningless concepts.
Seems to be working. I’ve seen a lot more PATS lately. PATS are everywhere. I guess they’e escaped Starbucks and somehow multiplied. Not sure how androgynous critters multiply, but I’m sure SF can write up a story on it *shudder*
Prager U did a video on that subject.
It’s true as far as it goes, but I’m not so sure I’d say that transgressive art is completely valueless.
That was pretty good! I liked when he passed his studio apron off as a Pollock painting.
I used to be more into modern art, especially the surrealists, but now having seen quite a lot more in person, I’m not as enthusiastic. I understand what the guy in the video means. There is a huge difference though between Joan Miró’s weird paintings and some edgy artist piling up some used needles and shit to make some stupid political statement.
What the fuck is wrong with transcendent beauty, after all?
AoS does a midmorning open thread every day that features a painting. Today is Remington.
One of the funnier stories I heard was that when they were clearing out Andy Warhol’s apartment, they found he mostly collected Old Masters.
This. Warhol knew the game. He made himself the work of art.
the game
Warhol was a shitlord of sorts, like Limbaugh, Jobs, Trump, Musk. There is great power in sizzle; steak is for suckers.
I regret that I have not foisted my own pet rock or conspiracy theory upon the world yet; I’m too comfortable in my tiny, unnoticed fiefdom to rise to be a true shitlord like these others.
I’m too comfortable in my tiny, unnoticed fiefdom to rise to be a true shitlord like these others.
So more of a shitbaron or a shitserf than a shitlord.
Also, Kinkade (sp?). His works are seen as hackery, which I get that argument, BUT they are pretty and soothing.
Kitsch also sells. It’s whimsical and fun.
(sp?)
Who gives a shit how an English tax collector spells a name?!?
/Glib with an unpronounceable, unspellable Gaelic name
Thomas Kinkade, painter of pretty kitsch.
I like the Pre-Raphaelites.
I LURVE them. too! When I was wee I was really into Greek mythology and Arthurian romance. i don’t care if my betters sniff at my taste in art.
If I had to choose a favorite, it’d be Waterhouse. They’re popular in spite of our betters’ disdain.
Ton of Remingtons at the Carter in Fort Worth: a must see.
“If the art doesn’t sell, it won’t be made.”
The National Endowment for the Arts would like to have a word…
Art will be made as long as artists are compelled to make it whether they can get paid or not.
I’ve known two “serious” painters in my life. One has honed his craft for decades and produces beautiful works of art and the other makes paint-by-numbers “Aboriginal” art. Who gets a gallery show and commissions?
Is that a trick question?
I’ll pick door number paint-by-numbers.
No you won’t because it’s a scam. A literal paint-by-numbers scam. Everyone talks about cultural appropriation but what about inter-cultural appropriation? Hell, we have a totem pole in front of our oh-so-serious Art gallery and yet the closest people that actually carved such a thing lived hundreds of miles away. native art is generally a scam.
Haha!
My father in law bought a totem pole for the cabin. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that the only tribes that carved them were in the Pacific NW.
It was pretty, though.
No different than any of us with spectacular musicians in their lives. More IT work than world tours, just sayin’.
Art is rarely profitable, but it sure is important.
There’s a lot of modern “art” at the Nelson-Atkins that is more craft than art, which I can appreciate on its own. “No that installation is not art, but it’s well crafted and I like it.”
True. On the other hand. there’s that piece in the downstairs entrance which resembles a machine which dispenses piles of crap.
Come to think of it…
The one hanging on the wall made of actual trash?
And the idiotic 1% for art on public projects.
The Soviet art of the WPA is a step up from the crap being paid for now because they have to spend a minimum amount of money.
Stephen Hicks had an excellent article on modern art at the Atlas Society, but they’ve since taken it down, probably as a retool of the site.
This one has some of the same themes.
In short, the existential despair of the post-Enlightenment combined with the postmodern denial of objective truth killed art.
Fairly modern, but beautiful.
A mere illustrator. Fie and away!
How these assholes can talk about public good and promote morbid obesity at the same time is honestly beyond me
My question is how did the kids who read this crap twist their minds so badly that they don’t see this as absurd on its face. I would have seen this as brainless gibberish when I was a teenager.
The actual “Teen” readership of Teen Vogue is apparently southwards of 5%. It’s a ‘zine for cranky old queens and third-wave cat lovers.
Education media etc… although many see it as bullshit. That is why we need to stop those evil rightwing youtubers and take all non socialist content off the web.
Seriously meam i doubt most teenagers read this shit.
When you were a kid, the left had not sufficiently turned public school into a Marxist education camp. Now, you have kids from the time they are 5-6 year old, completely saturated with leftist non-sense. Global warming, transgender sex changes, socialism, white privilege, on and on. I don’t even know how they learn anything useful. And having recently talked to a few millennials, I have to conclude that they haven’t.
It hadn’t even gone that far marxist when I quit teaching, twenty years ago. But when my own came along, there was no way in the world they were setting foot in a public school unless it was for a standardized test (public schools love it when homeschool kids take the tests there, because it brings their scores up). I can’t imagine what it’s like now. (Actually I can, I just try not to.) The community college is bad enough.
Maybe. But where the hell are the parents? They’re letting their kids believe this crap?
Yeah, the parents don’t care anymore, they’ve ceded their authority over their own children to the great state. Of course there are parents who still care, so they put the kids in private school or home school. Because there’s nothing a few parents who care can do with the public schools, they are way too far gone.
I remember back after the 2016 election, a guy I work with, his kids came home from school the next day crying and terrified. The teacher told his kids whey will be deported. They’re citizens, so is he. I guess she just noticed they look Asian. He asked me what I would do. I told him most likely be arrested for beating the living shit out of a teacher.
Kids? What about other countries?
They used to look at US TV and see cool cars, two kinds of pop, guns, chicks in tiny swim suits. Now? You want all those horny chinee to tune in to Victoria’s Secret show and see trannies, fatties and mongoloids (Ok, maybe that last one would be OK with them)?
if we want to “win” the mideast we should be beaming in as much pr0n as we can. Make Diamond David Lee Roth head of VOA and tell him to run as many music videos as he can where hot gals dance around in practically nothing (he is a domain expert in this area).

When does Andy Kaufmann reveal himself? And let us all in on the fact that he’s behind all of this nonsense?
If you are the reporter assigned to this story, at what point to you openly start to laugh? “We represent the forthcoming generation” would have been where I laughed.
transgender representation because we represent the forthcoming generation
Not sure how people who can’t/won’t have children can represent the forthcoming generation, but sure, whatever.
Yes. That is exactly what it is. And you’re shitting all over their ability to make a living with your woke bullshit.
So, Trey Gowdy doesn’t run for re-election to congress and the AG post opens up just as he’s exiting and people are talking about Chris Christie?
I surely hope Trump is not dumb enough to even consider Christie. I think maybe he’s just making Christie buy him some McDonalds and a diet coke again before laughing at him. If Gowdy gets it, the left will shit the bed. Well, let’s admit, they’re going to shit the bed regardless. They suddenly believe that they are in charge of all of these rules they just made up. Trump can’t hire an AG without their permission. He can’t fire his own employees. Elections don’t count if they can’t win. They can sue anyone over anything at any time. If a law passes or Trump make an exec decision, they’ll just have some activist judge in Seattle or Hawaii overrule it. They are completely lawless and corrupt to 3rd world levels. And really, having received no education at all, only leftist indoctrination, they are dumb as rocks.
Left will shit the bed until Mueller investigation finds what they are looking for. If Mueller can’t, the left will claim Trump’s nazis have buried the truth about his unlawful meeting in Majorca with Vlad Putin in June 2016 where they agreed Putin would help his KGB mole buddy, Trump. Or something like that.
The House isn’t constrained by the stray few figleaves of investigatory restraint with which Mueller chose to adorn himself, so even if he finds nothing definitive, they’ll come up with something. And given his vast legal and business entanglements, I have no doubt they’ll find something dirty. It’ll have nothing whatsoever to do with Russia or 2016, but they’ll trot it out as damning.
Heh. Trey Gowdy – that dorky kid that jap-tackled the bully and made him cry “Uncle”! I can see that.
You can bet that Trump will appoint the person he believes will deal out the most pain to democrats.
Trey Cowdy is my second political crush.
Gowdy* DAMMIT!
And number one is?
Rand Paul.

Why are all the libertarian leaning Republicans so dorky looking?
*ponders my own attractiveness*
It’s not the faces. A man has to fuck my mind to get me to pay attention.
Um
So “shortcomings” are a front loaded thing for you. Good to know! *polishes up Mormon and Glibertarian talking points*
He’s got you so flustered that you can’t even spell his name right.

Mojeaux gotta nib-on!
My position on “gerrymandering” is define voting districts by county. As many (or few) counties as it takes to divvy up the votes.
Montana only has one Congresscritter, so nobody can accuse us of gerrymandering. Of course, fewer people live in Montana than live within a miles of the Golden Gate bridge, or LAX, so we are inherently undemocratic, and thwart true democracy. Don’t get me started on the Senate.
Racist!
I think a formula for drawing districts should look something like this:
(1) Start with political boundaries – cities, counties, whatever.
(2) Make the minimum adjustments from the political boundary to get to the right number of people. The voting district should have the shortest boundary possible, within reason. You can fine tune to take major geographic features (rivers) or major roads the boundary.
To divide within a political boundary – cities, mainly, would take a little different approach.
I had many, many beer-fueled discussions with GIS guy about boundary drawing, and he proved to my satisfaction eventually that you can pick any starting point (using Florida for example, you could pick the Alabama corner of the pan-handle, or the Jacksonville corner, or the southernmost contiguous point) and depending on which direction you proceed and how granularly you draw natural features, you can probably generate districts that favor one side or the other in about the same proportion as what happens now. Although yours is slightly different because one of my requirements was to attempt to optimize the area:perimeter of each district to prevent those districts that run one mile wide for 10 miles to connect similar voting areas.
I had much the same idea.
1) All districts must be within +/-5% of the median district population
2) All district boundries must be contiguious
3) Districts must be drawn in such a way as to produce the minimum possible sum in the ratio of district perimeter to district area
4) District boundries lock 1 year prior to the election date
5) at any point any individual or entity may present an alternative redistricting plan to the relevant authorities and if it satisfies the above criteria better than the current one it must be adopted in the next available election
I am sure there would still be way to gerrymander within this kind of structure but it would eliminate the worst of the practice and give outsiders an automatic way to interfere should whoever is in charge of drawing the boundries from rigging the game by ignoring the rules.
Maybe it would be easier to draw better districts if we changed the law that set the Congress at 435, and had 30K:1 or so as originally intended? Is the former Capitol Center doing anything now, it would be big enough to hold the new Congress.
The Ds say that we should have 935 seats for the Congress. 500 of those from Cali.
California deserves autonomy; build the wall.
One thing I like about Californians is they don’t show up down South much, and the three who are here don’t pretend that anyone gives a shit what they think. Yankees, on the other hand……
And they’re right, California should have as many seats as they want…in their very own People’s Congress.
That was the original 1st Amendment proposed with the BOR and I know a few hardcore conservatives that want to revive it (like the 27th Amendment it is dormant but not dead). The thing is I am not sure I see a plus to adding 5500 congresscritters.
Toss in part-time hours, minimum wage, no benefits, and oh yeah term limits, and I’m sold.
Term limits solve nothing. They became a popular idea because people hate congress and therefore like the idea of ‘throwing the bums out’ but the problem is not that we have the wrong bums in office. The problem is that the office allows bums to shit on us. There will always be a new bum waiting its turn.
Mandatory death penalty for violating the oath of office, and strict construction of any attempt to extend or overstep the Constitutional grant of powers as a violation! That’s the ticket!
Term limits wouldn’t solve, but could potentially mitigate, permanent special interest constituencies for certain politicians. It’s easier to concentrate your lobbying efforts when you know the same person will be in office for a dozen years or more. It would also prevent certain political personalities from exercising as much influence on their party; do away with the mythos of the elder statesman.
It would just shift even more power to the unelected political staffers and civil service bureaucracy.
Rather than term limits I would rather see something like the following…
No person holding an elected Federal Office or an Appointed Office which requires Congressional approval shall be an eligible candidate in any election for a Federal Office until such time as the term to which they were elected has expired or the term to which the President who nominated them for the office has expired.
That means that if you are an Elected or high level Appointed official that you have to take a term off and be out of Government before you can run again because the next election happens before the term that governs your eligibility ends. You might keep coming back but you gotta go away in between.
The plus is that power becomes unconsolidated. Illinois turned into a pile of shit once it reduced its number of state reps because power in the state congress became consolidated.
Think of it from a corruption standpoint – the more reps you have to buy off, the less cost-effective lobbying is.
I wouldn’t bother with term limits.
I would just impose something like Purge Night where the members of the House and Senate get locked in a confined space for 24 hours during off-elections years. The governors can fill any vacancies the next day.
Google walkout organizers aren’t satisfied with CEO’s response
Pichai fucked up when he endorsed their little snit-fit over Rubin.
He should have responded with “Without Andy, a lot of you wouldn’t be employed right now. If you would like to resign, go ahead.”
He should have had the badges of anyone in the walkout turned off, deem it job abandonment, and make them ineligible for both rehire and badging (so they can’t contract back to Google).
If you give an inch they’ll demand a mile, if you give a mile you’ll go out of business. Now Google is starting to reap what they’ve sown.
And the execs at Apple are watching carefully. This shit is like ebola.
Jobs, asshole that he was, knew how to keep that crap under control.
Cook is gonna fold like a cheap suit.
Yep. He desperately desires acceptance and to be liked. As much as Jobs was an asshole, he
made the trains run on timehad a good vision of the products should be and was relentless in executing that. Cook is at best a caretaker. And it will only get worse. They’ve handed the inmates the keys to the asylum. They now know that Google will fold to any demand they make. Now, they have two choices: shut the hell up and continue to go along with the demands or bring in a clone of Blake from Glengarry Glen Ross to run the company.
Yep. Google will make for an interesting case study in about a decade.
What on earth is wrong with these people? Is it something in the water? The food? The rarefied air that they breath? Was middle school that scarring? Do I ask too many questions?
They’re making logical economic decisions based on the environment that has been created for them. If you create a position titled, “Chief Diversity Officer”, you can expect that employees are going to march into your office and make demands of you based on how they rank in the diversity hierarchy. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Well, both suck pretty bad, actually, so feel free to hate everyone involved.
This is my go to position on almost everything. Occasionally, I’ll have to walk it back a little.
The problem with Google and the other big tech companies right now, is that they firmly believe they are too big to fail. And they know full well that if they can only help the Dems win elections, they can get bailed out by tax payer money no matter how bad they fuck up.
Google is getting rid of forced arbitration for sexual harassment and sexual assault claims
I’ve never been a fan of arbitration, so meh.
offering more transparency around those investigations and more.
No surprise that privacy and confidentiality are foreign concepts to Google employees.
Google failed to elevate its chief diversity officer to report directly to Pichai
Well, good.
and also ignored the organizers’ request to add an employee representative to the board of directors.
Presidents and CEOs are employees, and there are four of them on Google’s board. Right now there are five insiders and six “disinterested” directors. Having a majority of the board be disinterested is a best practice. Add an employee, and insiders would have a blocking position on the board.
You know, at this point, it couldn’t happen to a nicer company. People said this is where things were going to go when they decided to crucify James Damore. As far as I’m concerned, let them bleed on the altar of woke they decided to climb up on.
One more:
The process by which we build a truly equitable culture must center the voices of black women, immigrants, and people of color
The CEO is an immigrant and person of color. Doesn’t he have the loudest voice in the whole company?
Apparently black women are not people of color now.
I think black women outrank other persons of color, all things being equal. For instance a Latina, wise or not, doesn’t score as high. Not sure how the position on the LGBTQETC matrix weights the score, though, although a quadriplegic trans black women pretty much crushes it.
If I was Pichai, I’d can any contractor who took part in that protest. It isn’t like you couldn’t return all the H1B’s from India and instantly replace them with another batch. In fact, you could probably get a bunch of the recruiting firms to get into a bidding war to place their candidates and save some real $$$.
I’d also tell any regular employee who complained about the way the contractors were treated that the bennies pie is only so big. So if they want more regular employees and less contractors, that means their own bennies are going to be slashed.
a short note on the backwardness of identity politics
Hoffer is the philosopher of today’s world.
I read that book at the suggestion of an anthropology professor (the only one I had who was not full on proggie) way back in community college. I think I really need to read it again.
Glancing through the feed of articles today at RealClearPolitics it looks like the Dems (as expected) are going to continue on the full blown anti-Trump path. I don’t see it working out too well for them. I have a bet with a semi-prog buddy that El Trumpo will not be impeached and removed or quit. I’ve been trying to get him to double down on it, think it’s worth another shot today.
What are the stakes?
I got a hundred on Bad Orange Man to make it through his first term. I’ve been pushing to double it. I have other action with my brother on another scenario (he is an inveterate gambler that will bet on anything).
I think he will be re-elected. Assuming the Dems don’t get away with voter fraud, which is possible.
I haven’t made that bet yet, I will wait until 2019 to do so. He just has to make it to Nov 2019 for me to win on both.
Sorry Nov 2020.
But everyone in America is demanding he be impeached per NUT. I’m sure the democrats are going to do it. Media will lap it up.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/08/opinion/democrats-impeach-trump.html
…per NUT.
it’s no nut November. So they can fuck right off!
I fully expect them to impeach him. I’m guessing they will try to time it for Spring of 2020 to try to get some electoral juice out of it.
I hope so. The theatrics and hysterics will be fun. Of course, he won’t be removed, and so will run for re-election as an impeached President, setting up even more fun if he wins re-election.
Despite a two-year long Special Counsel investigation that has provided zero indictments related to collusion and all the resources of the media and two congressional investigations also finding no evidence of collusion, Mueller’s final report is going to vindicate all the nefarious fever dreams.
“They won the House by promising to hold Trump accountable”
… but they didn’t win the Senate. The narrative doesn’t even hold up past the first sentence.
I think they’re going to make up a new rule like the Biden rule – “a President with an impeachment process underway can’t nominate any SC justices.”
I think there is a lot of exaggeration from both Republicans and Democrats that these House seats that Republicans lost are gone forever. And that doesn’t seem logical to me (2008 says “hello”) I have faith that Democrats in the House are going to remind suburban voters why they don’t vote for them.
^This. The election was very reminiscent of 2006, where the Dems picked up ~30 seats and Pelosi became speaker. That lasted for all of four years, precisely because the Dems started doing stuff. As an article I read pointed out, Americans tend to like a political party when it is out of power but dislike it when it starts governing. The American electorate is a bit schizo.
Not to go way OT or anything (just kidding, I know there’s no such thing as off topic on the links, just like how no one actually reads the links), but I could use some recommendations for boots.
I’ve been using my North Face hiking shoes for pretty much anything involving not running on pavement for years (I keep wearing them out and replacing them) but now that I’m going to be hunting more often and walking through snow to catch the bus to school (we only have one car and I’d rather cut my toes off than move into Madison proper) I’m starting to feel like I need something a bit more substantial and supportive.
So if anyone has recommendations for good general purpose boots that’ll stand up to snow and brush but still be comfortable enough to wear regularly, I’d appreciate it.
I still have my Vasque boots from the 80’s
I’ve been rocking my Sorels for thirty years. They’ve seen me through just about everything. Stranded 10 miles out in the bush with nothing but rotten skidoo tracks to follow, no problem. Standing out on the ice for hours? Warm tootsies! I had to replace the felt bottoms once but those boots have never leaked or let my feet get cold. Heck, they’ll probably outlive me.
What kind of hunting? What’s your budget?
Brushy, hilly Wisconsin, trying to flush woodcock. Definitely nothing involving tree stands (though that’s only because I don’t own land).
Budget is pretty limited, given grad school. I don’t think I want to go above $150, and I can’t do more than $200.
It’s tough to find a boot to do it all. Most that are warm enough for winter are too warm for miles of hiking.
The best boots I ever owned were Red Wings. My last pair went almost 15 years. Look around at outlets and you can probably find some in your price range. Otherwise, I have had great luck with Kamik gore-tex boots for general winter/snow use.
I’ve had good luck with Montrail.
The problem with wearing them regularly, though, is exposure to any solvent that will help synthetic layers degrade or delaminate. My professional world is full of oil-based residues; I try to keep my outdoor clothing away from those because it’s basically survival gear. Of course, just putting gas in the truck puts synthetics at risk. Ecco boots, for example, begin falling apart the instant you pull up in the parking lot of any factory.
I usually carry one liter Nalgene water bottles; it’s easy to spool several yards of duct tape around those for whenever whatever comes apart on you in back country.
I have a pair of Red Wing boots that I like a lot. They don’t make the model any more, but the closest is probably the “Iron Ranger” line: oiled leather work boots that just look like boots. They’re pretty comfortable, water-resistant, and they look good.
I’ve had excellent service from Red Wing oiled Wellingtons at work. I wouldn’t wear them hiking because they aren’t made to breath and my feet sweat a ton.
My feet do sweat quite a bit, but it’s something of a moot point because if I told my wife I was going to buy >$300 boots while I’m in grad school, I’d wind up on the couch for a long time.
Then leather boots will suck. Keen, Kamik, Merrell, Salomon all make decent breathable warm boots. Check out Sierra Trading Post – they seem to have a decent selection.
I wear cheap Brahmas from Walmart. Does me fine for the snow and all.
These are super-comfy and have lasted me seven winters:
https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/118202?page=men-s-snow-sneakers-with-arctic-grip-mid-lace-up&bc=&feat=snow%20sneakers-SR0&csp=a&attrValue_0=Brown&searchTerm=snow%20sneakers
I haven’t done much actual hiking in them, so I don’t know how well they do walking over sharp objects. They do have a good return policy.
The uppers are pretty pristine, outer soles are intact, but I’ve worn through the insoles down to to rubber.
I bought a pair of Irish Setter hunting boots back in February, and have used the hell out of them all year. They’re very comfortable, breath well, and are surprisingly light which makes for easy hiking. I hunt the back country in Oregon, so they’ve been tested on some pretty rugged terrain. The ones I got are the Vaprtek camo boots for hunting, so they may not be stylish enough for every day use. They’re certainly comfortable enough. They ran about $150.00.

Damn squirrels.
A rant from a acquaintance on FB about the governor’s election in Georgia:
Brian Kemp is a goddamn traitor. He sought and was given public trust to facilitate the operations of an essential aspect of our government, something that gets at the very core of what America is supposed to be. He used that position for the purpose of systemic disenfranchisement – he deliberately undermined what his country is supposed to stand for in hopes of personal advancement.
You could slow roast a bald eagle using American flags as your only fuel and you wouldn’t come close to this chucklefuck.
It isn’t that surprising considering the number of backers he’s got who shamelessly fly the battle flag that commemorates the single greatest act of coordinated treason in American history.
Stacey Abrams might not make up the 25,622 vote margin she needs to force a runoff, but Kemp’s a fraud living a life that’s crystalizing as a monument to the fact that the world would be a better place had he never been born. Even if Abrams doesn’t win, eventually what she represents will. He will always be a traitor whose creative capacity added up to less than nothing.
So what is Kemp “guilty” of?
I have no idea. I think what my acquaintance was prattling on about was the supposed voter suppression.
It isn’t that surprising considering the number of backers he’s got who shamelessly fly the battle flag that commemorates the single greatest act of coordinated treason in American history.
This sentence is intriguing. A very roundabout way of calling some a racist while demonstrating complete ignorance of American history.
Marxists don’t care about history unless it back their agenda.
Marxists have no history, Comrade! It has all been disappeared.
I’m picking up a racist vibe, but it’s hard to tell since the rant is so vague. Referring to the Civil War as “the greatest act of coordinated treason in American history” was the big tell.
He refers to the South as committing the act of treason with regards to the Civil War. It’s fucking sad to see this though. The guy who wrote this screed was the one of the people that brought me towards libertarianism. To see him descend into full prog mode is disappointing.
He was Georgia’s sec of state, and some court ruled that Georgia’s voting rules were racist disenfranchisement.
So now flag burning isn’t just unpatriotic, but treasonous? Hannity better throttle the upstart, he’s gunning for his gig. What about flying antifa flags, if that’s the case? The stars and bars is unpatriotic, so an explicit symbol of resistance to federal authority, often accompanied by chants of “No borders, no wall, no USA at all” must be extra super duper treasonous. Right?
whose creative capacity added up to less than nothing
Man, do I pine for the days when political innovation was heralded as a great sin. Tell your sap friend I don’t want “creative” politicians, I want conservatives. And neither, frankly, does he: the extent to which his dippy political theories are successful is the extent to which they’re denied practical application. They’re great for fundraising among marks and rubes of the progressive set, great for brainless chants (why is it they have to rhyme? Do progressive rioters find it difficult to memorize simple statements?), but electoral and economic disaster whenever they brush with reality.
Hmm… I’d say the Revolutionary War was the greatest coordinated act of treason in American history, and besides none dare call it treason, what do i know?
So if anyone has recommendations for good general purpose boots that’ll stand up to snow and brush but still be comfortable enough to wear regularly, I’d appreciate it.
I like Keens. I had never heard of them somehow, until a few years ago, when I bought a pair. Big plus, for me (wiiide feet)- lots of toe room. In fact, I’m waiting for the Thanksgiving sale at Murdoch’s to buy another pair.
Those look pretty good, thanks. I don’t have very wide feet, but I do have narrow heels, so maybe that’d work out.
I’ve seen a ton of Keens light high-tops in back country. I think you wear the new ones in the woods until they become your ’round town kicks or mowing shoes, then you go get another pair . . . so cheap you just replace them every two years?

“Tom has a cough which is just as bad as Steve having pneumonia”
I’ll take false equivalency for $500, Alex
Robby, Robby, Robby. I just wonder if he’s actually sincere when he posts these awful hot takes or if he’s just hedging so that he can stay in good standing with the cosmotarians.
Both?
Well, he is hedging. He’s a sincere SJW retard. The hedge is the flimsy equivalence so he can pretend he’s criticizing both sides.
Good standing and fruit sushi.
Sincerity doesnt enter into it.
So long as the right people are scratching his belly and yanking his tail he don’t give two fucks. He’s a joke.
Go on….
I would but… I’m afeard!
This is why I am embarrassed that I ever gave money to that other site.
Sweet Jesus that’s stupid.
To be sure, Jim Acosta’s first amendment right to be present in a room with a bunch of other reporters listening to press conferences that are televised nationally has certainly been infringed.
What happened to Tucker Carlson was not really a “free speech” problem. The chattering class literally cannot think outside of its tiny little box.
Incidentally, I suppose, the antifa goons were trying to silence Carlson. But they really want a lot more than that – they want anybody opposed to their Marxist project to be, not just silent, but cowed into supporting them or cast out of society altogether. Silencing someone is authoritarian – antifa is worse than that, because antifa is totalitarian.
I fully expect them to impeach him. I’m guessing they will try to time it for Spring of 2020 to try to get some electoral juice out of it.

I can’t wait to see what they come up with for charges.
Whatever the basis of the charges, I’m sure the media will be as skeptical as they were towards gang rape allegations leveled against Kavanaugh
I think they’re dumb enough to go with something bullshit. If they do, they better pray to their personal God that it falls through. If Trump gets removed from office for no particularly good reason, I think things will get very ugly very quickly.
He won’t be. Republicans have the senate.
The Senate is not going to remove Trump unless and until the Dems pick up another 20-odd seats, so that ain’t happening.
It won’t prevent them from doing the theater.
They might do the impeachment. If they’re stupid. Which they are.
But the removal will not happen.
Let them be stupid if they want.
That’s what my Wifey said not long after we met! The prior one just didn’t get it.,
New Remi video.
Not bad.
Nevertheless, you won’t catch any of these people relocating to flyover country. Revealed preference.
I’ve had good luck with guide gear boots from sportsmanguide.com
I should have mentioned about the Sorels that they are snow boots and not fit for anything other than winter conditioins but they have been excellent.
