I’ve heard this Brazilian guy described as similar to Donald Trump, but without the sophistication.
And Brazilians take their rioting, err, protesting seriously.
The article says he’s “far-right” without further explanation – that’s enough for me!
My sample size is the Brazilians that live here in SoCal.
Every single one is for Jair. Except for my neighbor, but he’s a hot mess.
He’s not YUGE…..just El Grande
Now spin that mother-fkn Theme Music anyhow !

That was Chinese slave girls, not Brazilians.

No, Tres’ theme music, in case you have never clicked on it, is always “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard…”

Haven’t heard this gem in at least a decade.

Funny, I have that same deal with all my women friends, but they’ve yet to avail themselves… maybe it’s like attorneys who try to undercut their competitors, and find out customers want to pay a premium so they think they’re getting superior representation? Yeah… maybe I should bump up my asking price to $20.
$20 is $20.
I’m flat fucking broke!
Same as downtown.
maybe for a Gram..
That’s some cheap coke.
Trump truly is undermining the rule of law….
TLDR version: John Marshall has made his decision, now let us see him enforce it!
There is no new thing under the sun
Undermining the rule of law by appointing SCOTUS judges that will strictly adhere to the Constitution as written. Bastard.
How can anyone possibly expect progressives to go along with this madness? They’ll have no choice but to break the law.
Suggesting the playbook rather than a prediction.
That is many runs’ worth of stolen bases. Hey, what if Trump announces himself emperor for life, and Brett Kavanaugh murders all the other justices and decorates the iron throne with their heads? What if that happens, huh? What then, conservatives?
That’s where I think this might be headed: those on the left refusing to accept democratic outcomes, the Constitution and the rule of law because they think that Congress / the Executive / the Courts aren’t legitimate because they don’t control them.
I can see it leading to some sort of prolonged revolt or civil unrest. Sadly for them, they are not as well armed as their opponents.
But isnt refusing to accept (or at least question) the legitimacy of governmental authority one of the basic tenets of libertarianism?
Or have I been doing this all wrong by just being a dick?
I think the difference is that, for us, it doesn’t matter which team is running it.
I agree. But in theory, would we view any executive branch run by say, a Hillary or Bernie, to be any more or less legitimate (knowing DNC playing fast & loose with vote counting) to be any more legitimate than how they view Trump and the retarded party?
I dunno. I’m pretty sure that Trump won according to the rules. As you indicate, I would be less sure about it if the D’s won.
Here in Canuckistan, I don’t like JT … like, I can’t stand the twit … but I accept that he won fair and square. Because of the nice hair.
Our solution is to ensure that the government doesn’t have that power in the first place.
For libertarian anarchists, maybe. But for libertarian minarchists, rule of law is important, with the caveat that the scope of law and authority of the government shound be strictly limited. And in this case, the lefties would be revolting to *increase* government power. That’d be my take on it, anyway.
Did Lenin and Mao worry about elections? They knew what the people needed and gave it to them good and hard.

Sort of like Rome’s transition to an empire. Once long held traditions were ignored without major repercussion, it was a quick slide to full dictatorship.

I’ve been lurking. I’m trying to make an effort to comment more though. I miss the action… and the insults.

“The Problem With #BelieveSurvivors
It’s important to listen to those who come forward—and also to those accused.
We are now in a time of chronic national convulsions, and the latest, over the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court, has resulted in the wrenching public and private testimony of women who have been sexually assaulted and who have never before spoken about it. Of course, this outpouring has a hashtag: #BelieveSurvivors. Women who tell their stories should have the support, and belief, of loved ones, friends, and a therapeutic community.
But when a woman, in telling her story, makes an allegation against a specific man, a different set of obligations kick in.
Even as we must treat accusers with seriousness and dignity, we must hear out the accused fairly and respectfully, and recognize the potential lifetime consequences that such an allegation can bring. If believing the woman is the beginning and the end of a search for the truth, then we have left the realm of justice for religion.

“If believing the woman is the beginning and the end of a search for the truth, then we have left the realm of justice for religion.”
Nice, I’m saving that! I assume the author will be crucified by SJWs.
Emily Yoffe fired due to SJW mob in 5… 4… 3…
Belief in a thing absent proof is called “faith”. Belief in something in the face of proof to the contrary is called “denial”. Now, I don’t know what happened to Dr. Ford, but I know that she failed to prove that Kavanaugh did anything at all to her, much less sexually assault her. In fact, she managed to make #metoo look more hysterical and prudish than it already has done and she made herself and her supporters in and out of Congress look corrupt, cynical, vicious, spiteful, and dishonest. I’m sure there are well-meaning people who still, for some reason, believe that Kavanaugh victimized this woman in some way. They clearly have some sort of emotional or mental health issues.
And when Kavanaugh got emotional about these attacks, he suddenly didn’t have the temperament to be a non-partial judge (at least according to numerous columnists and letter writers in my Sunday paper.) One went so far as to recommend that Sen. Men Should Shut Up Hirono be allowed to run for president and a new constitutional amendment passed that would remove the requirement that the president be native born (Hirono was born in Japan and immigrated to Hawaii).

This is completely in keeping with past articles in the Atlantic.
Tonight’s Doctor Who included some nonsense that “only idiots carry knives”.
Non-idiots carry guns, of course.
My wife (Japanese Lady) was really confused by the fact I carried a knife everywhere when we were dating.
Her father had told her that only Yakuza would carry a knife and she knew I wasn’t a criminal.
How things have changed, now I carry my pistol everywhere along with my pocketknife and it doesn’t phase her at all.
The real question is would you would the new female Doctor Who?
I’m recording it for later, but that show’s relentless derpitude is wearing perilously thin. We shall see.
It was horrible. ???
So, only idiots anticipate the need to cut something? Also, fuck Doctor Who. He has a magic science wand and a time machine. He can use his magic science wand to open packages or cut string or fend off muggers or whatever else. What an ass. He doesn’t need a gun, he solves problems using his wits…and a robot dog with a laser, and a magic science wand, and other people with guns. And a lot of his companions either die or spend a lot of time captured by horrible aliens. Even as a kid I use to think, “Man, if I was a character in Doctor Who I’d just bring a gun and not be a pussy. Most of the episodes would end in the first five minutes, and we’d all get home safe and sound.”
Plus, glad to hear that even poor old Doctor Who is carrying the British government’s water when it comes to the social justice statist bullshit. I wonder how many phone calls the mayor of London made to BBC to get that line in.
Oh my stars and garters! Couples choosing the sex of the their child? Madness! Apocalypse!
*sigh* I don’t know much about it, and I’m not a fan of the idea, personally, but seriously, doesn’t the UK have more important things to worry about? And I do think we should put our knowledge of genetics to use – stronger, smarter, more naturally fit humans sounds like a good thing to me. How else are we supposed to win the eventual Galactic War? 😛
Would you like a white or a black baby?
Baby better be hilarious. Lol.
Ha. Blue, please. Golden eyes. Psionic powers if possible.
And while we’re at it, I want a procedure to turn existing humans (me) into six-foot, super-strong, near-immortal crocodile-men. 😀
Anyone else see the Tulpae overrun…
Hey, I’m just in a chatty mood since my night of drinking port with my dad got pushed back to tomorrow. Usually I just lurk, read, chuckle, and move on. Too early to go to the gym for my light cardio – too many people there this early – so I figured “hey, why not actually post something”.
That’s just what Tulpa would say.
Serious Tulpa.
You know, being Tulpa for a night here might actually be fun. Put on the crazy hat and just go town… hehe.
The first rule of Glibs is you should never openly and credibly suggest that you truly are a Tulpa sock.
Or maybe it’s rule #28, I forget, but it’s one of ’em. I’m sure.

Well they could spend more time on common sense potato peeler reform and asking people to report noncriminal microaggressions, but you can only spend so many billions on those things and if they drop this they might have to actual move toward leaving the EU or prosecuting pedo gangs, so no they don’t have more important things to do

So disenfranchised voters are ok then?

Well, what happens when people move? Populations fluctuate frequently. Let’s divide the country into equal sizes and prohibit anyone from moving. We can put big walls between the…uh…districts (except for the borders between Canada and Mexico because reeeeeeeasons) and they can all pay tribu…taxes…to the various capitols.
Ew! Why would anyone move to Wyoming or Montana?!
If they had any decent road race courses in either state they’d shoot up to the top of my list of places to retire.
Actually Montana is staying towards the bottom because that’s where the in-laws live.
Idaho sucks too. Seriously, Wyoming and Montana are much better choices.
If the state of Jefferson was a thing I’d go there. It wouldn’t even be a fair competition.
Because mob rule favored slaves.
Yeah, wait a minute…last time we had a lot of vigilantism running around didn’t there also happen to be a lot of black people being hung from trees?
WTF? So, is this one of the new marxist talking points?
They do know this is actually the Hunger Games construct, right? I disliked theseries, but they are actually advocating for the rural areas to shut up and pay tribute to the various capitols through taxes, food, manufacturing, etc.
Fucking hell they’re dumb.

SEA SMITH CALL IT TUESDAY BY THE DOCKS
Let’s talk about the judiciary. Should they be restrained or activist? Who will appoint them? And which law schools will they come from?
Also the judiciary has always been about power politics. Judicial independence was created because Whigs didn’t like the King’s judges and didn’t want the king to remove judges they liked. And judicial review was created so the Federalists could shape laws even after losing to Jefferson, Hell Marbury vs. Madison was all about Jefferson trying to stop judges appointed by a lame duck Adams from being installed.
Let’s talk about RAMMSTEIN!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StZcUAPRRac
and republican government was created because the last king of Rome was insane. Your point always seems to be “X thing libertarians value arose because some enlightenment figure’s party or faction benefited from it.” Yes, you are correct people do things for factional reasons, so what? If the thing is of value in promoting liberty is it less valid because at some moment in history it gave some group a personal benefit?
Something something Watery Tart?
First of all I point this out to show that the political opportunism some people complain about is nothing new and many things we value came about because of it. And do we support such things today because we value it or because it benefits us? Are we really that much better than such Enlightenment figures?
Second of all I am interested in the judicial issue. Is there a consistent view of judicial restraint or judicial activism? Or is it just we want judges who agree with us? The latter is plain power politics. And those judges will have to come form somewhere and be installed somehow.
I don’t think we are better than the enlightenment figures at all. And as OMWC said the question is not activist/restraint, because that is meaningless without context, it is faithful application of the Constitution and Laws, and YES faithful application of the Constitution gets me much of what I want. That is because the framers largely wanted the same sort of limits on government I want. To go all Goldwater for a moment “extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!”
So yes I want Justices that agree with me on the basic point: The Constitution is the highest law of the land, and it is clearly drafted to 1. limit Federal Power and 2. protect basic individual rights.
Okay that is something I think is a legitimate view of the judiciary.
I know there are some libertarians who think the Constitution should be ignored if goes against their views. That is nice if those judges agree with you, not so nice if they don’t.
I mean it would be nice if SCOTUS decreed that the USPS is obsolete but not so nice if they declared free speech or guns obsolete. Or that abolishing the Department of Education is unconstitutional due to equal protection or something.
Then there is the whole emanations and penumbras stuff. There is a right to privacy with regards to birth control and abortion but what about the IRS, NSA or TSA?
I mean it would be nice if SCOTUS decreed that the USPS is obsolete
Under the Constitution Congress could do this, but the Court could not as establishing post offices and roads is an enumerated power. Arguably SCOTUS could abolish the Department of Education as nothing in the Constitution authorizes a Federal role in this area.
Wasn’t there an episode of Star Trek TOS where Kirk (in an over-acted pleading soliloquy) listed several of the universe’s most amazing works of prose and included “the Constitution of the United States of America”? Why do modern progs seem to so despise a document that still inspires Federation members hundreds of years in the future?
The Omega Glory, written by Roddenberry himself, ended with Kirk reading the preamble to the Constitution. Is that the episode you are thinking of?
Back then the Dems had All three branches, Desegregation and the Welfare State so the left was very optimistic and nationalistic.

Very Doorsesque.
Activist in the sense of striking down laws and precedents that violate the clear and absolute language of the constitution.
Now we are getting somewhere.
Would that be called a strict constructionist view?
And what if the “clear and absolute language of the constitution” is not something you like? An Amendment?
Yep. Don’t like something in the constitution? Amend it, don’t ignore it and couch ignoring it in florid legalese.
But that’s too harrrrd. Can’t we just muddy the waters with emotion and innuendo?
You’re making me feel like I’m getting raped all over again.
Take it, bitch.
U.S. supreme court judges should read the constitution and abolish any law that is not authorized by the constitution. Thats all they should do.
Well under the Constitution they do in fact have jurisdiction to hear certain cases.
In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.
Notice that Congress has the power to effectively end SCOTUS’s appellate jurisdiction leaving them as the trial court for “Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, ” and nothing else.
Fine. They can do that too.

Hey Japanese Glibs. I have a good buddy who is going to Okinawa next week to visit his step son. You guys know anything cool he should look into?
Spam?
Most likely.
Scuba Diving
There are also a lot of beautiful cliffs and beaches.
If there are any local festivals, I would definitely recommend going and checking out the Okinawan culture.
If I’m not mistaken, Okinawa is only Japanese island with a coral reef.
Depends. Is he going to stay in Okinawa only or go anywhere else?
He will be there a week and has been pricing domestic flights to other places. He’s open to options.
Gonna sound crazy, but hear me out. I always go out of my way to do my laundry at some off the beaten path landromat when I travel to a foreign country just to be able to meet people. An old lady in Holland helped me figure out the machine despite her inability to speak English. She gave me some kind of dessert from her lunch and smiled broadly as I ate it. Don’t remember it tasting that good, but I certainly remember her kindness. Being around locals doing local things was always my favorite experiences travelling and while I may remember the Eiffel tower, I don’t really have an emotional memory of it. Don’t know what kind of guy your friend is, but my guess is that he’d find the locals charming.
I’ll suggest that to him. Sounds like a good idea
I had a similar laundromat (or as the store is called, Raundrmat) experience here. I was clearly struggling to figure it out and a polite guy helped me out and we conversed in horrifyingly bad English while I waited for my comforter to dry.
You both have time to kill and so people will open up a bit more. Also, it probably took the guy a while to work up his gumption to offer his help. People like helping people if given the chance.
Sounds hokey but it’s true. I’m very introverted but that kind of stuff when it happens is much more memorable than the touristy stuff.
He should look into some Habushu.
Gross. Worst hangover of my life. By far.
Nope. Noooooope. Nope.

“To all of the survivors of sexual assault, & women who wonder if they will be believed if they are attacked, know there’s a growing, powerful movement of support that will always have your back. We believe you. We will stand with you. We will defend you. Change is coming.”
https://twitter.com/ValerieJarrett/status/1048323034745098240
So you are saying you support ape law?
Good one Roseanne.
“The confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court dealt the #MeToo and #BelieveSurvivors movements their first major defeat. Those feminist ideologies will continue wreaking havoc throughout American institutions, however—especially the claim that self-professed sexual-assault victims deserve unqualified belief.
That idea—that the presumption of innocence, fundamental to common law, should be suspended for accusations of sexual assault—has been the cornerstone of the campus-rape bureaucracy; during the Kavanaugh hysteria, that conceit jumped out of the ivory tower into the world at large. It will be no easy task to put it back. In preparation for the next Salem witch trial-like ordeal, therefore, it is worth empirically rebutting the #BelieveSurvivors mandate, as well as its corollary: the claim that if most self-professed rape survivors in our patriarchal culture don’t report their assaults, that’s because the “social and emotional” costs are too high, as California congressman Ted Lieu explained on MSNBC last Sunday.
Columbia University’s infamous “mattress girl,” Emma Sulkowicz, was conducting an on-again, off-again sexual relationship with another student, Paul Nungesser. Two days after one of their consensual couplings, in August 2012, Nungesser invited Sulkowicz to a party in his room. She texted back: “yusss,” adding: “Also I feel like we need to have some real time where we can talk about life and thingz because we still haven’t really had a paul-emma chill sesh since summmmerrrr.” A week later, she suggested that they hang out together: “I want to see yoyououoyou.” Two months later, she texted: “I love you Paul. Where are you?!?!?!?!”
It wasn’t until eight months after their August 2012 coupling that Sulkowicz filed a campus-rape charge, alleging that Nungesser had anally raped her while she struggled and told him to stop. She claims that she waited so long to file so as to avoid re-traumatizing herself. Nungesser argues that she was simply chagrined that they had not become an exclusive couple. Whatever Sulkowicz’s motivation for filing, it is impossible to read her post-coital pleas to Nungesser as the aftermath of the most terrifying experience a woman can have, short of murder, rather than as the attempts of a female to reel a favored male back into her orbit.
Even before the sexual revolution destroyed the norms that once governed the male libido and that steadied the relationship between the sexes, sex was the realm of ambiguity and indirection. The #BelieveSurvivors contingent asserts that survivors rarely if ever lie about their experiences—meaning, they rarely make those experiences up out of whole cloth. This assertion is mostly true; in most cases of alleged campus rape, something did happen between the accused and the accuser. The issue is how to classify what happened. (To be sure, there are rapes that go unreported, but there are also outright fabrications, such as the Rolling Stone University of Virginia campus rape hoax, which cost the magazine millions in damages, and the Duke lacrosse team rape hoax, for which the local prosecutor lost his law license.) The #BelieveSurvivors movement claims unique authority to interpret women’s experiences, even if that means ignoring a woman’s own classification of her experience as not rape.
The rest of us need not accede to this assertion of monopoly interpretive power. Our booze-fueled hook-up culture has made relations between men and women messier than ever, leaving many girls and women with pangs of regret—but those regrets do not equal rape. If we were actually in the midst of an “epidemic of sexual assault,” as New Jersey senator Cory Booker asserted the evening of the Ford-Kavanaugh hearings, we would presumably have seen women and girls take protective actions, such as avoiding frat parties and flocking to single-sex schools. None of those protective actions has occurred, however. Either women are too clueless to avoid patent danger, or the epidemic of sexual assault is a fiction. All evidence points to the latter conclusion. Judge Brett Kavanaugh may be the latest male to have his life torn apart by that fiction, but he won’t be the last.”
https://www.city-journal.org/rape-16216.html
The pendulum that is sexual norms has reached its liberal apex and has begun to swing back conservative.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a few years from now, we’ve reverted so far that women are almost completely clothed in public, and a risque comment about a lady once again is “nice ankles”.
I’m just glad I’m married and dont have to worry about about what the new norms are. All single dudes are a one night stand with an insane SJW away from a world of legal/professional trouble.
I’d just as soon not have that worry on my back.
That’d take a generation at least. No way the women I know would start dressing like that.
Or, Nice legs.
You’re such a pervert.
The New Vickies are here. Neal Stephenson called it.
Puritanism and Victorian morality both were very much an attacks on the sexual morality of the upper class, just like MeToo.
Normally when there is a huge divide between people you have to start with acknowledging legitimate points the other side is making in order to establish good faith. I honestly don’t see what legitimate point from the side that is saying “Believe women!” which could possibly be accepted. The Reps did a good job of sucking up the entire moral high ground by saying, “We hate rape and sexual assault, but we also have to have facts and corroborating evidence before we destroy people.” Maybe I’m missing a legitimate point team blue made that we could latch onto and agree with them just to have a starter.
Those are just tools of the patriarchy! Like how in patriarchal Muslim countries a rape can’t be contested with out 3 witnesses! …Oh but that’s just their culture, so it’s totes coll they do it that way, but what is really sexist and patriarchal is asking for one piece of verifiable evidence!
Our little SF Bay Area suburb’s NextDoor website had this post tonight — most recognize it as trolling, but I’m amazed how many if our neighbors are taking it seriously, and recommending video cameras, private security, and other tips to catch these dangerous teens….
Teens Pooping in my backyard
Ya I bet you’re laughing after reading the title but it’s no laughing matter. Every Saturday around 7-8 pm some darn Teens keep showing up in my backyard and dropping there pants and pinching one out like a dog. They know I have a problem walking so they laugh at me as I sit looking at them with no way of stopping it. Well finally I set up some bear traps and land mines in my yard so whose laughing now. If you think this could be your child this is your chance to warn them, or they shall face my wrath. Also if anyone could recommend a great Italian restaurant in the area please lmk. Thanks
I don’t like Italian food,
Yes, the great theater of the post is that virtually everything on NextDoor is either a complaint about something minor locally like potholes, or requests for recommendations nearby for plumbers, tutors, Mandarin food, etc, so it fits right in. Someone is having a good laugh tonight at the expense of our town’s soccer moms.
I wouldn’t mind ‘expensing your town’s soccer moms, if you know what I mean ;)’ I of course mean working one their behalf to solve this problem and deducting the expenses.
I’d be bringing popcorn over at 6:45 to enjoy the show if I thought it was real.
Latest reply to the pooping post, I believe the first by a man:

God bless the internet.

When you gotta go, you might as well make sure it’s in someone’s yard.
As a jogger, I’ve had to “go” in public several times… Once was in a cluster of trees in a suburban yard. I felt bad for befouling that person’s property, but hey, I wasn’t about to crap in my pants and walk home; it was late at night and there were no public restrooms anywhere closeby. I’ve also had to go when I was in the far corner of a public park, and I had to climb over a barbed wire fence to go behind this treeline and shit at the edge of a farmer’s field. The most recent occurrence was on a bike path – I had to go down into a creek and shit on some rocks. I had to keep a close eye out because if someone had come up the path, they definitely would have seen me down there.
And yes, I’ve learned to carry toilet paper when I go jogging.
Ok, it’s people like you that make me root for police; DON’T SHIT ON MY DAMN LAWN!
It appears we have a redline here. Police brutality becomes justifiable when it comes to someone shitting on your lawn.
*IN RACIST NEWS* The other day when I went through the drive through at Taco Bell the poor enslaved woman who was forced to give me my tacos looked like an African American. It almost brought me to tears. She was literally being FORCED to work this job where she was LITERALLY harming mezo-americans by stealing their culture. It was was almost too much for me to take. Luckily I had a coloring book at home in safe space.
Wood and would.
No, even though it might feel good, extending this lets them win. Never speak of it again.
Duke Lacrosse should’ve taught them a lesson. Nope. This shit is going to keep happening until they get bloodied.
I think I broke my youngest. Let me preface, he is youngest by marriage and by 3 months. The middle child, whose is mine, let’s the youngest know that he is the youngest.
Back to the story. I was flipping through random playlists of music and we ended on Alan Jackson’s “Where were you” prop…er…tribute song to 9-11
He asked in a snarky voice “where were you at?” I replied the following:
I was driving to work not knowing what was going on. I had your older brother waiting to be born, I was of age to be drafted and planes were smashing in to buildings. I was scared out of my mind. That’s where I was”
He didnt ask any more questions.
I was in college, with all the leftys freaking out about the draft, I had to reassure them we would come last. Meanwhile, my brother was in the Navy, taking a flight out of New York that day. I heard he landed safely before I knew anything had happened. But I knew that meant he was in for more than he signed up for now; but I was still the one having to calm all these shreiking lefties down.
The shotty part? The same war I could have technically been drafted for is the same war my oldest will be forced to be eligible for in a few months…..what the fuck America
Yeah, my niece was 2 when I was worried about the draft being reinstated, and now theirs talk of that and drafting women for the same damn conflict.
Cheers to that in the most drunken way. That is what weighs on my mind as his 18th B-day comes up.
My cousin just made 2nd seat in a 747. Big deal for a female pilot! She and her captain were told to put that bird down somewhere over Canada immediately.
Damn, dude, that is a big deal. Congrats to her.
I at Ft Bragg and was the Head of training for the Army Civil Affairs and Psyop Command. The leaders of the various Operations Divisions were in a meeting room waiting for the G3 to come in and chew our collective asses for something. I had returned from NYC (Newark airport) the previous day and we heard about the first plane so we turned on the TV and were watching the smoke talking shit about how stupid the pilot had to be to hit the WTC. As we watched the second plane flew into the building and we went silent and just looked at each other. A few minutes later the G3 came him and said, “The reason I called this meeting is void. Gentlemen we at war, we don’t with who yet, but make no mistake we are at war. Return to your people and prepare this command to fight and win.” He then walked out and we started doing what he told us to do.
I drove home that night around sunset. I lived near Raleigh (about 50 miles away) and the roads were deserted. I think I saw 5-6 cars the entire way.
“Republicans in 2009: Your solution (ACA) will cause deductibles to skyrocket.
Dems: No it won’t!
*10 years later*
Dems: Deductibles have skyrocketed. We now need single-payer solution to fix this problem!”

“This chart explains why Americans are so angry about health care
And why they’re becoming more open to the idea of single-payer.”

Wow, they aren’t even trying to obfuscate that the rise comes with O Care, they just wave their hands ‘nothing to see here’
Stick a fork in America. It is done…
I mean, they were pretty open about a decade ago about how the ACA was a stepping stone to single payer. Basically it would fuck the market so much that people would clamor for it, at least in their minds.
Don’t worry. Trump has vowed to protect those with “preexisting conditions”.
In other words, ‘It’s not the welfare state when I do it.’
So different than previous Republicans…
Trump promised to do that while campaigning. So not only is it not that different from many Republican politicians and what a lot of Republican voters want, but he was up front about it.
Trump has, in fact, probably been the most honest president of my lifetime. He has made a legitimate attempt to live up to nearly all of his campaign promises, good and bad.

“After failing to stop Kavanaugh’s confirmation, Democrats wonder if it’s time to be more ruthless
Democrats Fear They’re the Wet Rag Party
Kavanaugh’s victory leaves many on the left saying it’s time to get mad—and even.”

Yes, throwing tantrums ins known to win hearts and minds.
I think we may see some isolated violence…
Impressive that the author and Dems he interviewed all say they are the reasonable side, and the Rs are crazy. Projection, projection!
“They are more ruthless,” said Jennifer Palmieri, who over a quarter-century has served as a top aide to Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
That is gold.
I just watched Deadpool 2. Loved it.
Dammit, I did cry. What a weakling I am!
Gay.
Dude, she’s a woman. A libertarian woman who blows shit up as a profession. I’m sure in the infinity of the universe, there’s some way to be cooler than that, but I can’t think of it offhand.
She also blows very meticulously.
