I cleaned the shower, did the laundry and made Bolognese spaghetti for dinner. New table cloth and lit a candle. She seemed happy.

That’s right off assembly lines in China using quite a few Chinese engineered or built subcomponents. But it’s only the Chinese smartphone makers that are a threat.
Just about every ethernet chip in consumer, and commercial grade technology manufactured in the last 10 years will be either of Chinese manufacture, or will be using Chinese ASICs driving them. It’s probable that almost every Bluetooth and wireless circuit is the same.
If the Chinese wanted to put backdoors in place, they’d have already done so.
That’s not to say they haven’t, simply that these top officials are doing whatever it is they’re meant to be doing, wrong.
