I needed a break from gray and black, so I took a cue from HM’s Taliban WG figures (way cool stuff) and went to the desert. After doing a scatter piece in desert motif, I was hooked.
Using a building I had done…
I made a template and built a 2 story, with balcony.
Then we go for the main board.
I used the same stepped rock style as the scatter piece, and built up the corner of the base, then used drywall mud to fill and texture the entire thing, like this.
Then we paint the entire base.
I’ll let you go through the gallery for the steps, but cactus!
War Gaming tables aren’t like dioramas, they are meant to be played on, so you lose a level of detail, but that’s fine, people have fun.
Here’s the finished project, 2’x2’. The wife wants more 2’x2′ pieces for the granddaughters to play princess type stuff, so that’s my next task, until then, here’s the finished table. Cheers!

I keep trying to get my wife to watch HIMYM because I think she’d genuinely enjoy it. It’s like pulling teeth.
I watched a decent amount of Friends back in the day but it’s not something I feel the need to ever watch again, unlike Seinfeld
or Roseanne.I’ve seen Friends 2 or 3x through. I tend to agree. I could go the rest of my life without watching another episode.
However, the show has a special place in my wife’s heart because it both helped repair her relationship with her dad and helped her through her divorce. It could be worse, she could be watching Murphy Brown on repeat.
There are three shows that I consider important to me: Fringe, Babylon 5, and Duckman. If we start going to secondary shows, there’s a lot more.
Babylon 5 I really liked.

I was a shrimpy little cracker in a rust-belt town – I know all about that scene. Those places are racist af, and going both ways.
Round here it never seemed to go both ways. I never remember hearing of any ‘minority’ getting ‘jumped’ by white folk, they were too busy ‘critter beatin’. The closest thing to ‘racist’ by whites in my town was when my black cousin moved in with my parents and a cop stopped him outside our house and said something like ‘I know you don’t live there, I know the people who live there’, which to be honest he did, and my cousin is black as night while we’re white as shit. But, my family doesn’t talk about that cousin anymore because despite being raised by his liberal mother and then we she couldn’t handle him any more my conservative parents he’s in prison, so it makes both sides look bad, so all of a sudden he was persona non grata. People are fucked up.
