My opinion, and I may take some shit for it here, is that now that there’s a named accuser who can go before Congress with her story, she should testify and let the chips fall where they may. It may be bullshit, it might not be, but going from an anonymous story to a named one changes things.
This isn’t to say it should kill his nomination (though I’m sure the left will call for it regardless), but it should be investigated.
I just don’t see how it can be taken that seriously because there’s nothing there. She doesn’t know the place or the time. No evidence. No witness. The other guy named denies as well. What is the point in questioning her at all? What could possibly come of it?

I’m very skeptical of her claim. Feinstein knew about this back in July. Despite that, she didn’t question Kavanaugh publicly or when she met with him privately. I like the 2-0 record. Their offense was anemic in the first half, and there were some poor clock management decisions by Keenum and Joseph.
It was the first game of the season I have watched and I only watched parts of it. I ate a bowl of green chili and took a nap. Flour tortillas have that effect on me. But that is what I mean, they suck the first half and then squeak it out in the end. That is trademark Broncos. They give all their fans high blood pressure and make them drink too much. The battery on one of my uninterruptable power supplies has decided to start going. That model has apparently been discontinued, so the remaining stocks of parts have become more expensive.

I can either buy a replacement battery for my UPS at $45, or a new UPS with increased capacity for $55. (I can’t risk reducing capacity, because I have not accurately measured how much of it I’m using)

Every time I have not gone with a genuine OEM batter on my UPS I have been unhappy. And that includes what we’re supossedly high quality aftermarket cells.
I have six of them in my house. My PC, wife’s PC son’s PC, two NASs, and my home theater.
Last power outage actually smoked one of them, but the connected equipment was OK.
Buy a new one for the piece of mind. Plus you will know the MOVs are fresh.
I have never owned such a thing. The last time my power went out was during the Northeast blackout when some of the whippersnappers here were still toddlers. But… if I were to look for one at Amazon, would it be easy to find a good one (and not counterfeit)?

I had very uneven power at my apartment. This burned out more than one computer. It is much cheaper to have UPSes than to replace computers (or even just the power supplies. A whole UPS is cheaper than a power supply, and it’s harder for the wall power to damage)

I just finished reading paper on Health Literacy for one of my courses.
I’m truly amazed and impressed. This paper, written during Obama’s reign by our nation’s Top Bureaucrats, calls for a fundamental shift of including “Health Literacy” in every aspect of health care without ever once actually defining the term. I mean the level of incomprehensibility to write this is just unreal. They want the mission statement of every hospital, doctor’s office, and pharmaceutical company to include the term but do not give a hint what the fuck it means.
I don’t think the authors know what it means either. The authors do know that it will take a great deal of money spread out into their and their allies pockets though. They also know that literally every single demographic group other than rich white men are in immediate danger if expensive steps to fundamentally change the culture of healthcare aren’t taken.
Of course, I paid 4 grand to take this course so who’s the bigger the fool?

I don’t know one would empirically measure it either, but the authors have settled on a minimum of 4 “in-person” discussions required by every new person before signing up for the then mandatory Obamacare insurance. Presumably that would have directed a good deal of money towards the departments and organizations overseeing the discussions.
That is the answer on how to measure “health literacy”. It is measured by how many people are employed by the government explaining it to people. If there is one person who is still unsure as to their rightful benefits they have not hired enough people and or created enough departments of splaining.
I had to take a bunch of courses for teaching certification in VA. Similarly filled with nebulous mumbo-jumbo.
Most of my courses have been interesting and some have actually been insightful and beneficial. That’s the perfect description though for some of them, nebulous mumbo-jumbo . You should write the course catalog.

I just finished “Kill the Messenger” starring Jeremy Renner. Its based on the life of Gary Webb and his investigation of the CIA’s involvement in trafficking narcotics. It’s very worth the watch and even implicated the LA Times and WaPo as government mouth-pieces. Highly recommend.
I wasn’t really aware of Gary Webb until seeing this but he seems to have been relentless in pursuing the truth no matter who’s feathers he ruffled. Odd that he committed suicide by shooting himself in the head……twice.

Well, I’ve reserved the Canadian Leg of my road trip.
I stopped reserving in Duluth, because that was getting into lands thick with Glibs. I currently plan to arrive in Duluth on May 30 and check out June 1. This puts me in striking distance of Eastern Dakota, as well as virtually at Minneapolis/St Paul in the scope of these sorts of road trips. (~2 hours). I know nine months ahead of time is a bit far to make commitments, but I also tend to pick reservations with free cancellations so I can adjust my timetables.
Lutsen north of Duluth has Sea Villas for rent. They are small cabins right on Lake Superior. I’ve rented there few times and can’t say enough good things. The waves at night sound like the ocean.
It looks nice, but the timing of my visit is sounding like peak season, both in popularity and room rates.

I’m almost there. I cut my hair at the 2mm setting every week. I keep my hair short because I’m bald. My hairline started receding at 16 and now at 23 I don’t have much more left to lose.
I have all my hair but it’s really heavy and dry. Cutting it off helps me sleep at night and walk around during the day without sweat pouring down my face.
After realizing bald was very bad for me, I had a #2 buzz cut for several years. I looked like a white tennis ball, but it’s amazing what sins that little bit of hair will cover.
