Before getting to the news, please allow me to be a bit self-indulgent. SP and I love baseball, and particularly love minor league baseball. It’s wonderful to see young players who are chasing their dreams, still really care, and aren’t likely to be caught wrapping their Lamborghini around a light pole. There’s a delightful intimacy to the parks and a lack of pretense. Best of all, you’re not put through a TSA-level screening to get in (which has caused us to stop attending MLB games).
With great delight, we discovered that there are independent league teams playing in our area, with the Schaumberg Boomers just an hour or so away. SP scored us some nice seats at their charming little park (row six, on the third base side, perfect for watching the pitching). When we got there, we found out that it was a promotional night, this time with (TRIGGER WARNING!) a Harry Potter theme. So of course, the stadium was over-run by geeky kids in capes and round glasses. And some folks who aren’t exactly kids.
And of course, minor league ball rates minor league mascots. I wonder what Philly fans would do with this one?
My favorite was, of course, little girl in front of us who was playing with a toy cell phone.
Anyway, we got a bonus when the Boomers and their opponents, the Grand Traverse Beach Bums, played the last three innings of a rain-interrupted game from the day before, then a full game. Boomers got crushed in both, likely due to their uniforms matching the style and color scheme of my beloved but hapless Orioles.
On to news:
Speaking of sports and wrapping a Lamborghini around a light pole, here’s a wonderful, “He din do nuffin!” story.
Cowboys receiver Terrance Williams was arrested for public intoxication and leaving the scene of an accident. Williams has now supplied his side of the story that, as told by the authorities, involved Williams allegedly wrecking his Lamborghini into a light pole…
Williams’ lawyer, Chip Lewis, added this: “Contrary to media reports, Terrance did not hit a light pole and there was no light pole even near the vehicle. Secondly, his arrest was wholly unrelated to the traffic accident.”
This story has it all, from a wonderful headline to massive assholery all around. One of the pleasures of doing links is stumbling across gems like this.
According to Orlando police, as the flight from Colorado was descending for landing at Orlando International Airport, Timothy and Petrini Manley took issue with fellow passengers’ service dog. Petrini Manley allegedly complained she was allergic to dogs and Timothy Manley complained the dog, a Great Dane, was taking up too much space.
Timothy then punched the service dog with a closed fist, according to police.
The owners of the service dog, Mathew Silvay and Hazel Ramirez, who are both deaf, began arguing with the Manleys “as best they could,” police said, though both communicate using sign language.
I am shocked, totally shocked, that a Chicago machine politician’s Justice Department would abuse their power for political gain.
It is not clear if the professor was paid to speak with Trump campaign figures, but public records show that he has received large payments from the federal government in the last two years. The Department of Defense’s Office of Net Assessment — a shadowy think tank that reports directly to the secretary of defense — paid Halper $282,000 in 2016 and $129,000 in 2017.
Nice work if you can get it. And lest you think that he just did this because he was an Obama True Believer,
Halper has close personal and professional ties to the CIA reaching back decades. He is the son-in-law of a former deputy director of the agency and worked on the 1980 presidential campaign of George H.W. Bush, who had served as CIA director. When Bush became Ronald Reagan’s running mate, Halper was implicated in a spying scandal in which CIA officials gave inside information on the Carter administration to the GOP campaign.
Since Jay was not filming on the premises, nor did she have any complaints, it seems odd that Airbnb had discovered she was a porn star—unless someone within the company recognized her.
Never change, Al never change.
#metoo rolls on and on. Latest “rape” accusation:
Sources said Besson’s accuser went to police on Friday to file a complaint against Besson after the alleged assault at the Bristol hotel in the French capital. The complainant said she had been in a relationship with him for around two years, stating she felt pressured into being intimate with him for professional reasons.
For good measure, she even threw in a Cosby.
According to Europe 1 radio, which broke the story, Besson’s accuser said she had “drunk a cup of tea, then felt unwell and lost consciousness”. The station quoted her as saying that when she came round she remembered being sexually assaulted.
OK, enough news, let’s have some music. The right kind of music. Old Guy Music. And this time, a live version of a classic. See, I’m not actually old, I’m a classic.
Mascots are the worst. Oh, and FIRST! (I think it’s my second first ever!)
Dammit, Jack. I guess that’s what I get for watching the video before posting.
Yeah, but you got a great song out of it (assuming the WR video).
yep, that jazz funk (or whatever it’s called) stuff aint really my bag, but that was pretty good.
“Hurry up, Mandrake! (Hype) The Redcoats are coming!”

way to bury the lede OMWC.
He doesn’t want to talk up the competition.
Secondly, his arrest was wholly unrelated to the traffic accident.
“As far as anyone knows, the deceased was alive and good spirits at the time my client was arrested.”
If you can’t fly without the companionship of your dog, stay home. Fuck your emotional needs.
wholeheartedly agree, however, there’s a difference between service dogs and support dogs. Why deaf people need a service dog is another question.
I saw one at the post office the other day. The lady with the dog was obviously not deaf as she was speaking with the clerk as well as anybody. I am not sure what was going on there why she needed a “service dog for the hearing impaired”. Maybe for when her hearing aids went on the fritz.
Was it in training perhaps?
You can usually tell the training dogs by what is written on their vests. This one definitely said “service dog” and something about hearing impaired. Dog was what I think was a standard poodle but probably a young one. He wasn’t giant yet. Also the way the lady talked to the dog, (baby voice) and called him Mr Snuffles led me to believe he was a pet and not a working dog. He was well behaved though.
She may have been reading lips.
Why you would choose a Great Dane as a service dog is yet another question. Fantastic dogs, but hardly practical for taking everywhere with you.
And they don’t live long. It takes a while to train a real service dog, so the limited lifespan of Marmaduke is a serious drawback to the investment of many thousands of dollars.
I’m thinking the whole service dog thing was bullshit.
I know someone with balance issues and a bad knee (veteran, both issues caused by injuries), who has a great Dane service dog. Good because big enough to brace him or catch him when he falls.
If airlines feel compelled (or are compelled) to allow service dogs, then the remaining seats in that row should be left open and not sold to some poor schnook who has to figure out where to put his feet, etc.
I’d rather have a Great Dane sprawled at my feet than an obese woman spilling into my lap.
But yes, this dog thing has gotten ridiculous.
Absolutely. I was a flight with an obese guy who required a seat belt extender. I had turn halfway in my seat in order to fit and stay that way for the flight.
Deaf couple. Probably an actual service dog.
I know a veteran who when on the same deployment as me and saw the same shit. Now he’s out and has an emotional support dog. He drags it around everywhere while promoting his business as veteran owned. I just see a guy looking for attention and using his veteran status for special favors. Annoys the shot out of me.
Somebody got married yesterday?
Heavily in-bred and parasitic welfare queens tied the knot…a month after the NHS pulled the plug on an infant and woudn’t let his parents leave the country with him. Nothing to see here.
My favorite quote from Harry:
“It’s really weird stuffing money into a stripper’s G string when every bill has a photo of your grandmother printed on it.”
Charming.
I would have said “Kinky”, but that’s just me.
My favorite bit about that stupid wedding was a friend posting on Facebook saying “stop calling her mixed race. She’s black.” Err, what? If your parents are of two different ethnicities, you’re mixed race. Also, she frankly doesn’t even look particularly black.
Dude, it’s like you don’t even know the one-drop rule.
“I do!”
/Al Sharpton
Yeh, I remember people getting really angry when it was pointed out Obama was factually bi-racial.
I even recall a radio talk show – a conservative no less – who lost patience with someone who pointed it out.
Weird.
The narrative is cyanide to critical thinking – or just plain facts.
I didn’t get the whole Obama thing. It didn’t bother me at all that he was half white.
I had no idea she was black until I saw a clip of her mom day before yesterday. She looks white.
Her mom certainly has some white blood, too, so she’s less than half black. NTTAWWT
Does that mean Meghan gets to sleep in the big house?
“According to Europe 1 radio, which broke the story, Besson’s accuser said she had “drunk a cup of tea, then felt unwell and lost consciousness”. The station quoted her as saying that when she came round she remembered being sexually assaulted.”
This is one if the first stories that I immediately can’t muster an ounce of belief for.
I’ll come slightly closer to believing accusations against him when Milla Jojovich comes forward.
I have a different reaction. She isn’t saying it happened years ago, and she went to the cops quickly. He’s been married 4 times, he could be that kind of asshole.
This is the first I have ever heard of this.
Warrants that were repeatedly renewed is my understanding. What has Page been charged with after all that surveillance? As far as I know absolutely bupkis. I am starting to agree with those foiled hat wearing conspiracists that this was all a setup to get the surveillance so they could leak names to the press when no crimes were committed, but the spin machine would take care of that small irrelevant fact.
This is the first I have ever heard of this.
I had forgotten about it completely. I now vaguely remember it from my teen years.
Not only that but Page was working with the FBI on a case against Russians. It appears the entire warrant was just to name someone with vague Russian connections to get a warrant to spy on th Trump campaign.
4th DAY OF UNEMPLOYMENT. Haven’t been “unemployed” this long in 22 years. Drinking a beer at 7:00 AM. I think I’m beginning to see the appeal of this lifestyle. Do I really have to get another job when I move back to PA? “Where’s my damn EBT card?”
Employed or not find a way to be of use to people. Otherwise your soul will shrivel until it looks like that thing at the end of the Harry Potter movies.
Damn, Suthen! As far as I can tell my next job will be counseling young people with diabetes. Is that useful enough? Just kidding. I know what you mean. But I am determined to damn-well enjoy the coming month of joblessness!
I would be joining you but I have to work today which sucks because I like drinking beer at 7 am more than I like staying sober to go to work.
I’ve been unemployed for a total of a month since I was 16. I’d prolly spiral into some bad place if I had more than a month off now. Don’t see how people can live on the dole for years at a pop.
I was unemployed for about a year after I finished my Masters. I was pondering going on to pursue a PhD, but when I ran out of money I decided that living like a student sucks. So I got a job.
Congrats and enjoy it! I had 10 weeks of severance pay at the start of the year. I enjoyed every bit of it. Like Straffin said below, I had had a job since I was about 14 and that was really my first time off since then.
I spent mine drinking, fishing and commenting here. I also wasted some of it too.
I’ve also been out of work since the start of the month. Got six weeks of severance pay and also happened to sell a car I hadn’t been using, so I’m okay for now, but I’m going bonkers not working.
Part of me would kill to have more than a week off for the first time in 25 years or so. I would have no problem whatsoever filling my days. But there’s that pesky “looking for another job” part that sucks.
Land of the free. Home of the brave.
When American democracy is at stake, nothing can be left to chance.
That’s why New York legislators should quickly approve a proposal to let prosecutors pursue state charges against anyone pardoned by the president.
It may seem odd to be so urgent about something so arcane and even hypothetical. But President Trump has raised fears that he could use his pardon power to shield associates under investigation as part of the special counsel inquiry into ties between his campaign and Russian hacking of the 2016 presidential election. That might not only let criminals escape justice, it could deprive the counsel, Robert Mueller, of leverage to get their testimony and learn about even greater wrongdoing.
We’re willing to destroy democracy and the rule of law if that’s what it takes to be rid of that upstart Trump. After that, we’ll put the genie right back in he bottle. Honest.
NYT, of course. The TDS people are beyond parody. I guess that is why the word ‘derangement’ is in there.
These people are insane.
Roperites
Dang…I was going to break out that quote. First thing that came to mind.
Ah, screw it:
Alice More: Arrest him!
More: Why, what has he done?
Margaret More: He’s bad!
More: There is no law against that.
Will Roper: There is! God’s law!
More: Then God can arrest him.
Alice: While you talk, he’s gone!
More: And go he should, if he was the Devil himself, until he broke the law!
Roper: So now you’d give the Devil benefit of law!
More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: I’d cut down every law in England to do that!
More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned ’round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country’s planted thick with laws from coast to coast– man’s laws, not God’s– and if you cut them down—and you’re just the man to do it—do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I’d give the Devil benefit of law for my own safety’s sake.

Decent.
They’re going to start with Marc Rich, right?
*opera applause*
Facing Trump, a historian appeals to America’s soul: ‘I think we’ll survive.’ Don’t worry everyone! We’ll survive the horrors of the Trump presidency.
The projection is hilariously bad. Obama was your idiots messiah. He was going to stop the sea levels from rising, remember?
Really?
believe him to be a messianic figure, a view for which there is virtually no evidence
Same could be said for viewing him as a demonic figure
They have to believe half the country is deluded. It’s so much easier than facing the reality that half the country is just rejecting their lunacy.
The half of the country that voted for Hillary is deluded.
Half of the country didn’t vote for Hillary.
Counting the big chunk who didn’t vote – more than half didn’t vote for either of them
I bet David Duke would’ve gotten a majority.
That’s my point, this 1/2 red 1/2 blue nonsense bugs me. It’s probably 30/30 with 40 just going about their lives, and of those two 30’s probablly only 1/3 of them are true believers either way. At best there might be 10% of the population who are die-hard Red or Blue.
Yeah, I tried to – much more politely and tactfully – point out to my sister that her side lost because they ran a shitty candidate but she wasn’t having none of it.
The vast majority on both sides are just sheep.
I’m still confused what Trump has, specifically, done that will destroy America. Seriously. He does shit things from a Libertarian view, but other than being uncouth on Twitter, his policies seem bog standard for any politician. The only response I get is the vague “stoking racial tension” argument. That’s not him you idiot, it’s the SJWs turning everything into a question of race.
I don’t think of him as bog standard politician. He’s actively fulfilling campaign promises. That’s not normal.
WTF is this “messianic figure” nonsense? Of the Trump supporters I know, I bet that of every 5 of them, 1 is a true believer, 1 is pretty happy with him and 3 of them are like us: “I’m not really a fan, but I hated Hillary and he does seem to be fucking with the Swamp People”
The Progs are the ones who keep investing leaders (their’s and the GOP’s) with so much power in their minds.
More:
Some of the federal crimes that Mr. Mueller appears to be pursuing could also entail the violation of New York laws, including tax evasion, bank fraud, cybercrimes and money laundering. The Fifth Amendment of the Constitution prohibits anyone from being charged twice for the same crime, but the Supreme Court has ruled that states can pursue charges that have already been the subject of federal prosecution. New York is one of many states, though, that have laws strengthening protections against such double jeopardy. By guarding against overcriminalization, these laws serve a useful purpose.
Under the law now, prosecutors in New York cannot bring a similar or related case against someone after they plead guilty, or once a jury is sworn in at a federal trial.
The proposal pending in Albany would preserve the integrity of the double jeopardy statute, but carve out a narrow exception for anyone pardoned by the president.
How many millions of taxpayer dollars will be squandered on running this through the courts?
Does it matter?
New York and California, now that they are solidly blue, serve only the purpose of providing Democrat politicians with an enormous virtue-signaling apparatus, funded by their respective taxpayers.
They don’t care about their constituents in the least.
I think moves like this will hurt their party on a National level though. You see some signs of dim awareness of this fact over the impeachment deal.
Answer: As many as it takes
Well, Canada makes their donation to the new couple. I’m sure Rufus and John Titor are happy knowing that $50,000 of their tax dollars are donated to a charity for the royal couple instead of going to something the government should be spending money on.
LOL
Is that the Nazi prince? I can’t keep all those layabouts straight in my head.
Or, you know, not spending it at all.
Government enabling parasites under the guise of traditionalism.
Burns the shit out of me.
Royal couples and Bombardier. Two entities with their hands out I don’t respect.
Oh no! Trump is sending abortion rights back to the Reagan era! How will we ever get abortions with that sweet taxpayer money!? Don’t you know a woman has a right to a taxpayer funded abortion!? It’s right there in the Constitution.
Err, that should be “without that sweet taxpayer money.”
I heard some of that this morning. The terms ‘women’s healthcare services’, ‘family planning’, etc. were used a lot.
Bullshit. It’s a goddamned eugenics program. Call it what it is.
Not sure it’s fair to lump Besson’s accuser in with the rest. She’s not saying it happened years ago, she’s saying now and went to the police shortly afterward.
None of my posts are showing up.
Speaking of sports and wrapping a Lamborghini around a light pole, here’s a wonderful, “He din do nuffin!” story.
Before I got to this link I thought you were making a Pelle Lindbergh reference at the beginning.

Chris MurphyVerified account
@ChrisMurphyCT
U.S. Senator, Connecticut.
I fully expect that his idea about the right of self defense would fall in line with the way it works in Japan – which is to say that you would be allowed to resort to violence only if you were being assaulted, the veracity of which (on the issue of whether you are being assaulted) can only be ruled in a court of law. All this means that only long after the fact could there be any way to know you were or weren’t being assaulted so any violent action you take to defend yourself is taken at your legal risk.
Fcuktards like this don’t deserve to live in America. They should be forced to live as common folk in countries which better fit their ideas until they understand why a group of guys, tired of living as subjects, risked their lives, to throw out their king and make their own laws.
And that’s how it unfortunately is in Canada.
I know people who absolutely don’t believe you have a right to shoot someone who enters your home.
It’s retarded beyond belief. And immoral in my view.
shall not be infringed
In their minds “infringed” does not necessarily mean “cancelled”, “curtailed”, “banned”, or “outright Effing stamped out of existence”. Nope. “Infringed” does not quite equate to any of those.
What a piece of shit. But what do you expect from a turd that takes oaths lightly?
I dont need Chris to tell me what the 2nd means. I can simply consult the guys that wrote it.
“You ask me what is the militia? It is the whole body of the people. Anyone capable of bearing arms.” – George Mason, author of the 2nd amendment
What part am I imagining? What happened the last time they banned ‘assault rifles’? I think Chris should go sit on a sharp stick. I am not giving up my guns.
Don’t you get the feeling that the molon labe movement is way stronger than the last time the bleating hearts banned the scary guns? I don’t remember the pushback back in the ’90s being this aggressive.
This year the NRA had record contributions for a month and the numbers of NICS check broke a monthly record. If the left keeps going like this, there won’t be anyone without an AR within 5 years.
Yes, but the gun grabbers have learned also. They’re focused now on local & state laws and using every opportunity to move the ratchet, knowing that it rarely turns back.
What’s especially appalling and troubling is this ‘I believe in the real 2A’ shit. They’re going to invert reality and live in a lie just to push a stupid gun control piece of paper.
I honestly think these people were dropped on their heads as children, repeatedly.
The original argument was that the 2nd only applies to organized militias. Well if that’s the case, they would need “weapons of war” to be effective. Real ones.
That didn’t work so now ordinary citizens don’t need “weapons of war” to hunt and defend themselves. And they ignore the SCOTUS decision that outlawed sawed off shotguns because they had no military application. When the Constitution was written, the musket was a weapon of war.
If the progs want to stand by the argument that the 2nd was talking about muskets and not modern weaponry, then the right to a free press only applies to town criers and hand set type.
They believe that. “Constitutional rights are subject to reasonable regulation.” was actually said during the presidential debates.
And of course, Team Red seems to be happy with their version, pretending the the Fourth Amendment only applies to… well, really, it doesn’t apply.
They’re not stupid, they’re disingenuous. This “real 2A” bit is cynical hogwash. They know damned well what the second amendment says, but they also know that they want to ban private ownership of firearms, and they also know they can’t get the votes to amend the Constitution, so they’re trying to beat it in the courts through creative (read, inaccurate) interpretation. It was the National Guard bit first, and there was “They only meant hunting rifles and shotguns”, which didn’t get much traction outside of urban liberal enclaves who felt like throwing their inferiors in the hinterlands a bone, and now it’s this fine line between weapons used for self-defense and “weapons of war”. Personally, I find it funny to watch gun grabbers actually acknowledge the notion that there’s a legitimate self-defense usage for privately-owned firearms, because it’s like they’re admitting some embarrassing and repulsive secret. Like they really, really hate having to say it.
Their strategy is to get gun owners to meet them on one of these points–say, banning “assault-style” weapons–so that becomes the new standard. It’s the reason they go for these stupid magazine capacity limits. They don’t actually believe that limiting mags to 10 rounds will have any impact whatsoever on gun violence. What they believe, and with some reason, is that once 10 round limits become normalized, several things happen: subsequent limits seem less drastic, weapons that typically use larger magazines aren’t as useful and therefore occupy less of the market, and other, related bans become easier. The goal is to work handguns and semi-automatic rifles out of the picture, and then go after shotguns and bolt guns to get to something like the regulations in European countries, e.g. very strict limits on caliber, capacity, etc., registration, licensing, and of course taxation.
And the whole, “Well, we already regulate gun ownership” argument is bunk, too. The government does shit that’s unconstitutional all the time; that doesn’t mean the amendments that they’re violating are no longer valid. The government imprisoned Japanese and German Americans on the basis of their ethnic background. Does Chris think that was peachy-keen? The Second Amendment is already pretty clear, it’s just that the government and statists hate it because its purpose is to prevent the state from disarming citizens. It’s obvious the founders intended for the body of citizens as a whole to be sovereign, and actually sovereign, not symbolically, and that flies right in the face of what Progressives believe about government, and certainly against what authoritarians believe about government. Frankly, any regulation at all would seem to go against the Second, but certainly banning weapons on the basis of capacity, rate of fire, or physical appearance is a direct violation.
^^^^^^^^
look how well limits on automatic weapons, background checks, bans on private interstate sales/transfers without going through an FFL, prohibiting purchase/possession by certain people (ex-felons, adults 18-20, even people not charged but their ex got a restraining order against, and so on), etc are all accepted now by most everyone but the hardcore 2A supporters.
Well, shit, to use my other example, FDR is regarded as one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had, and he put American citizens in concentration camps. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus, and he’s practically a divine being.
The dope fiends will always be with us.
In the case of the opioid epidemic, history is literally repeating itself. Once again, too many Americans are dying of drug overdoses, and too many already vulnerable communities are being torn apart. Like our predecessors at the turn of the last century, we are asking what can be done to change the situation. Unlike them, we already know the answers. They solved the quandary for us.
First, we must hold doctors accountable — with fines and possible jail sentences — for overprescribing habit-forming drugs in the interest of profits. That was one of the immediate steps taken in the wake of stories like Henderson’s, and it quickly showed results.
We also must understand that if our nation’s health care remains a privatized, for-profit industry, the incentive to sell potent drugs to addicts will always exist. The health care industry was largely unregulated in the late 19th century; “buyer beware” applied to quack cures as much as to medical advice, and at first there was nothing the government could do to prevent doctors from overprescribing morphine.
Blah blah blah dugs are bad, mmmkay?
Mostly a bunch of anecdotal meringue, with the obligatory nods to “racialization” and “overreaction”. The Negro Menace is a blot on our history; no shit. But by all means, let’s start throwing more doctors in jail; that will undoubtedly make addiction go away.
And, of course, “private market health care is the root of all evil”. There are no drug addicts in those enlightened European countries with socialized medicine. We should be like them.
They have a bias against non-state health care. A Len bias, you might say.
I can’t possibly imagine why that is.
The author is a doctoral candidate accordingly to the byline. A little research indicates he’s in the History Department. They must have skipped the entire history of Prohibition and the War on Drugs.
Black market drugs wouldn’t exist in a socialist utopia?
The fundamental question that the drug warriors of all stripes refuse to engage with is
“Do you have the right to put things in your own body without permission from the State?”
If you ask them the question, the vast majority dance around it. There are a few who will answer truthfully, but rest assured, they are the worst of the bunch because they recognize the implications of that statement and fully endorse them.
Always get the same answer: Addicts don’t just harm themselves. Their behavior harms everyone around them and cost us money.
They say that as they’re stuffing their face with Oreos.
“…but, but… oreos aren’t addictive. I can stop eating them any time I want to stop.”
I should print out some quotes from Mao concerning drug users. I’m sure that I’ll get wholehearted endorsement of his ideas before they know who the quotes came from, and maybe even after.
I’ve also heard the old “if they were legal more people would do them! *I* would have tried heroin if it were legal!”
And that’s my problem how? If the only thing preventing you from doing heroin is the State telling you not to, you might try looking for the problem in the mirror.
All this minor league talk makes me wonder if Sears still sucks.
Kmart sucks.
*nods*
“Do you have the right to put things in your own body without permission from the State?”
Of course not. You’re stealing your productive labor (or votes) from the State. We cannot allow that.
RE the airbnb article.
Well is that right. *searches* Whoa, that girl has some meat on her bones and as far as meat goes, she seems to prefer dark and multiple portions at once. Not necessarily my porn preference but to each their own. I am not sure why airbnb would lock her out, money is money.
I’m guessing that they’ve had multiple incidences of porn films being made in a rental.
She claims to never have made one in a rental. I would wear that as a badge of honor if I had a rental. “See that couch she is bent over? That’s my couch!”
Does Sara Jay have the right to put things in her own body without permission from AirBNB?
*applause*
There is also some silicone on her bones.
Boobpedia says she was a C cup before implants. They probably looked quite good before implants.
I see boobpedia has a “Today in boob history” link on their front page. Sadly, nothing of note happened today. On the other hand, tomorrow is the birthday for several porn stars.
Rock bottom
Just hours after 10 people were killed in a school shooting in Santa Fe, Tex., the police chief in nearby Houston issued a defiant condemnation of elected officials who have failed to act on gun control, saying he had “hit rock bottom.”
In a statement on Facebook, the chief, Art Acevedo, wrote that he had “shed tears of sadness, pain and anger” after the shooting, which happened about 35 miles away.
“I know some have strong feelings about gun rights but I want you to know I’ve hit rock bottom and I am not interested in your views as it pertains to this issue,” he wrote. “Please do not post anything about guns aren’t the problem and there’s little we can do. My feelings won’t be hurt if you de-friend me and I hope yours won’t be if you decide to post about your views and I de-friend you.”
———–
In his Facebook post, which had elicited more than 16,000 reactions as of late Saturday, Chief Acevedo said the days after the shooting were a time for “the asking of God’s forgiveness for our inaction.” He specifically called out “the elected officials that ran to the cameras today, acted in a solemn manner, called for prayers, and will once again do absolutely nothing.”
“I will continue to speak up and will stand up for what my heart and my God commands me to do, and I assure you he hasn’t instructed me to believe that gun rights are bestowed by him,” he wrote. “The hatred being spewed in our country and the new norms we, so-called people of faith, are accepting, is as much to blame for so much of the violence in our once pragmatic Nation.”
Why won’t these stupid politicians give me the power to disarm the people who pay my salary? Fuck you, peasants. I deserve to have the ability not merely to defend myself, but to oppress you by force.
Wait, Houston?
Wasn’t he the police chief of Austin? And didn’t he defend a string of cops gunning down unarmed people, including one who was sleeping?
Yes and yes. He’s a piece of shit who ought to be hanging from the lamppost next to the one from which dangles James Clapper.
I find it pretty rare to see a person who has “lived a life of service (in the public sphere)” – and thus believes he/she will always have the proper means for self-defense – to have any qualms about reducing the ability of self-defense for the rest of us. Military veterans, (not always but in general) especially those who had to stand toe-to-toe against well armed bad guys, have a more egalitarian view on this.
Exceptions exist but from my personal experience they are not so common.
Ugh I’d rather have the rain from the last 9 days than the disgusting humidity that replaced it today. C’mon Gaia, hook me up.

So… stop doing it. Problem solved.
If a tranny guy and a tranny girl have sex, doesn’t the tranny cancel itself out and they’re just having straight sex?
Whatever it is results in you being racist and transphobic.
Ok, so I wasn’t the only one who assumed this hypothetical tranny bang was interracial.
It involves a woman’s penis and a man’s vagina, so it’s straight sex
(I know I’m probably overdoing it with that link, but it still kills me)
I have a hard time feeling sympathy for the AirBNB porn girl.
1. Freedom of association. AirBNB *should* be able to refuse service to anyone, for any reason (laughable in today’s world, but the principle stands).
2. You chose to work in an industry at the margins of society. Debate about whether that’s fair all you want, but it’s the truth. It’s just another gripe along the lines of “I chose to do X, and it’s not fair people judge me by that action! I demand that my choices be celebrated!” Doesn’t work that way. You’re free to do what you like, but the rest of the world does not revolve around you or owe you any particular kind of treatment.
3. Most importantly, there are several instances of porn companies using AirBNB places for shoots. The owners were not happy. Therefore, AirBNB has a business incentive to nip that in the bud, lest it get a reputation of enabling such. If you wanna blame anyone, blame your fellow porn stars who did that and ruined it for everyone else.
That will all go out the window the first time a black or gay is turned away by an owner for any reason including one having nothing to do with being black or gay.
I know. It’s unfortunate that freedom of association is dead in this country. People have the right to be assholes and I’d like to think the market is much more effective at fixing these problems than the State.
-Asshole racist refuses service to a black guy
-Black guy jumps on Yelp and writes lengthy review of him getting refused service by said asshole
-Legions of potential customers say “I don’t want to give that asshole my money!”
-Asshole either goes out of business or changes is policy
But if we let the market handle it, how will politicians get their virtue signaling opportunities in?
Like when Michael Bennet wrote that bull shit story.
I will agree with all that, but in a business sense, I personally would not be one to refuse service to her because well, she has money. Also, some rental owners have been accused of discrimination so they don’t really honor their “able to refuse service to anyone for any reason” policy. Freedom of association only applies to some.
“I personally would not be one to refuse service to her because well, she has money”
Exactly. That’s the beauty of the market. If a company wants to refuse service to someone irrationally, someone will swoop in to provide that service. Porn stars’ money is as green as anyone else’s; if AirBNB doesn’t want it, someone will.
/raises hand
Mike Veeck owns the St. Paul Saints and was once on the radio and told a story about his dad Bill Veeck who at the time was running the WhiteSox (I think).
He said that after a game, he showed Mike a pile of money from the gate and concession sales. He asked Mike to tell him which dollars came from white fans and which came from black fans. When Mike said there was no way to tell the difference, Bill said “never forget that.”
Debate about whether that’s fair all you want, but it’s the truth. It’s just another gripe along the lines of “I chose to do X, and it’s not fair people judge me by that action! I demand that my choices be celebrated!”
I expect every person who is in the above “celebrate who you are” group to get behind me 100% when I announce that I am an ammo-sexual! This is how I was born – I didn’t choose to have such a close relationship with my weaponry and the ammunition it requires. Celebrate my lifestyle with me!!
Q, I concur.
ENB covers the porn industry. I don’t care enough to read those stories, but does she frame her articles in a way as to legitimize porn? Just curious.
ENB is obsessed with porn and prostitution in what seems like a personal way. I know that’s her beat, and as a pseudo-libertarian she sides with decriminalization/deregulation; however, it always seems to tilt just a little too far into seeming awestruck and fascinated on a personal level.
We rip on her a lot, but in all seriousness I think wants/wanted to be a porn star and/or prostitute but lacks the courage to damage her own reputation in that way. It actually makes me kind of sad for her. Go out and live your dream!
She is submissive.
People choose not to have kids. Social engineers shit themselves that their proggy pyramid schemes will fall apart even faster if people aren’t the breeding farms they envisioned.

“here’s the bottom line: it already is the case that declining birth rates will affect Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, un(der)funded public pensions, and the like. How an aging population will affect a country’s economic vitality and ability to innovate is a source of much hand-wringing.’
Gee, if you wanted to avoid such a scenario, why not create programs that are economically sustainable on their own? Or better yet, don’t create any programs and let people take care of themselves.
You forgot option 3; the wholesale importation of tax cattle from 3rd world countries, but first we’ll have to put them on welfare because that’s only fair.
/Merkel
Option 3 seems to defeat the purpose of propping up the pyramid schemes.
You must be racist.
declining birth rates will affect Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, un(der)funded public pensions, and the like.
Oh, noes! Muh Ponzi Scheme!
Is it Airbnb as a corporate entity, or one or more individual renters, who has blacklisted this porn chick?
I can’t be bothered to RTFA. Enact my labor.
Corporate entity locked her account after asking for identification multiple times “with a clearer photo”. I always read the articles about porn stars. Unless it is Stormy Daniels because I don’t give a shit about all that. The rest is for research.
Meet the Press is banging the fuck out of the Russianz! gong this morning.
Also- “Spying? on a Presidential campaign? Impossible. IMPOSSIBLE, I tell you! I am deeply disheartened by the thought that you could even suggest such a thing.”

So. Is it accurate to say under Obama he brought Chicago style politics to Washington at the Federal level? Can a comparison be drawn with Tammany Hall?
It’s nuts how the Obamabots don’t see any of this. I still hear the odd black comedian talk as if he’s the shit in their routine.
‘En passant’, Deon Cole is hilarious.
Unsealing divorce records during his senate race, IRS targeting Tea Party groups, spying on journalists who tell uncomfortable facts. Obama’s legacy is weaponizing the government. I don’t know why people have trouble accepting that he would use FISA to spy on yet another political opponent.
“I don’t know why people have trouble accepting that he would use FISA to spy on yet another political opponent”
Those capable of dispassionate observation and logical deduction do accept that. It’s been obvious for over a year that Obama utilized the IC as his own personal private investigator. It’s sickening and, I agree with Trump on this, far worse than Watergate.
The Obama cult of personality (of which the mass media is a part) cannot or will not accept that Chocolate Jesus would ever do anything wrong, ever. And with concrete evidence of malfeasance, they handwave it away.
Obama was a Chicago politician. You don’t succeed in Chicago politics without being corrupt and/or ruthless. Period.
The idea that he was above the fray and better than the rest of us was always a fiction.
He had class and dignity.
That cheeseburger eating, chain smoking, spiteful, remedial pseudo-intellectual, sociopathic douche?
That guy?
I watched a docu about Air Force One and they had footage of the first time Obama got on it. He order a cheeseburger with fries AND a salad. Worse than Donny Two Scoops.
I swear if ‘dindunuffin’ isn’t the greatest word in the English language.
Williams’ story is pretty eyebrow raising.
Living in a Fast and the Furious bubble while texting or under the influence ain’t a good combo I reckon.
I’ve had several requests for more posteriors from Ass Glibs so here you go.

“the rising tide of gun violence”
Citation needed.
‘Every word they write is a lie, including and & the’.
Nature. Beautiful, horrible nature.
The 31-year-old man said he and a friend were mountain biking in the Lake Hancock forest area at about 11 a.m. Saturday when they realized they were being chased by the big cat.
“So they stopped and they made a lot of noise, said Myers, ”which is exactly what we counsel people to do.”
But then the attack took a tragic turn.
“The two victims then took a minute and were catching their breath about this amazing, incredibly scary event that just occurred,” he said, “and suddenly the victim who’s now in Harborview was attacked again by this cougar. It latched onto his head.”
The man who managed to escape watched his friend run. The cougar chased after him and killed him.
Hikers were asked to stay away from the Tolt Reservoir/ Hancock Road area.
Myers says the cougar’s behavior is baffling.
“The fact that it stayed in close proximity to these folks and attacked and stayed with them is highly, highly unusual,” he said.
Do not turn your back and run away in the presence of a large cat.
Big cats, to me, are much scarier than bears or other predators. Watching my housecat is enough to convince me that cats are nature’s perfect killing machines.
Owls are cats with wings.
The ones around here keep the outdoor cat population to zero.
We had a big tabby that would complain every night until we let him out. He’d return every morning at first light. On day he didn’t show up until mid afternoon. He was all beat up with a couple of gashes on his side. He hid under the covers for a couple days and never demanded to be let out again.
If only there was some small portable device that could have saved the now dead biker.
It’s far more likely that the cougar will take your gun and shot you then you will shot him, there have been studies. The good biker with a gun myth is just that a myth.
I ran into one while fossil hunting in an undeveloped area within the city limits of Austin. Big one at that. Thank Yahweh he took no notice of me and was gone before I realized what it was. I vowed never to go on a hike unarmed again, even in cities.
Luckily, no mountain lions near here yet. Just Black bears, and they are scardey cats. I had one poke his face out at me over a guardrail a few weeks ago, then turn and run from the noise of my might 4 banger.
We have a few mountain lions around here, but if you see one don’t use the word panther when you report it to the DNR because then you’re a kook who must have mistaken a fischer cuz they look so much alike.
Here is something that happened last week in my neck of the woods: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/05/14/bear-still-on-prowl-after-attack-in-colorado-leaves-girl-with-more-than-70-stitches.html
Bears are evil too.
My in-laws get a couple each year and they live in a residential neighborhood. Last year, one climbed up a neighbor’s tree. A few years back, one climbed up a tree, onto the roof, and spread-eagled itself over the kitchen skylight.
A few years back, one climbed up a tree, onto the roof, and spread-eagled itself over the kitchen skylight.
“You like-a tea bag, Chinatown?”, the bear was reported to ask before sauntering back to the woods.
Still, this would freak me out. That sound…
(they look way too much like my dog for comfort – they trigger a desire to pet them, which would be a bad idea).
I’m old and slow and when hiking, I have two piles of bait running out in front of me. I never hike without firepower.
I never watch cable news at home, but the few times I see CNN in public this seems to be true.
https://townhall.com/columnists/michaelbrown/2018/05/19/am-i-tuning-in-at-the-wrong-times-or-does-cnn-really-have-trump-derangement-syndrome-n2482287
It’s not just CNN.
My stupid local morning news that repeats every half hour, the leading story is always whatever awful thing Trump did the previous day. Or whatever deplorable reaction Trump had to something that happened yesterday.
I’m still trying to figure out what, exactly, it is that freaks people out:
Is it because of the things he said about Mexicans which carried a racist overtone? Maybe, but Obama deported thousands of Mexicans.
Is it his comments about women? Well, bullshit on that because I know a lot of people who loved Bill Clinton who hate Trump.
It can’t be just Team Red. Is it because he’s crass? Maybe, some people think there should be decorum at the top.
Ignorance is part of it. But, truly, a lot of this just seems to be emotion, their chosen one lost and Trump must pay for that. So, let’s embrace whatever wacky theory comes down the pike.
To paraphrase William Manchester:
“But if you put Hillary’s loss on one side of a scale and that wretched waif Trump on the other side, it doesn’t balance. You want to add something weightier to Trump. It would invest Hillary’s loss with meaning, endowing her with martyrdom. She would have lost for something.
A conspiracy would, of course, do the job nicely. Unfortunately, there is no evidence whatever that there was one.”
1. He’s a republican, and any sitting republican politician is always Literally Worse than Hitler™.
2. He’s a republican who actually fights back when he’s smeared, unlike the more acceptable ones that meekly submit under criticism from progs (“cuckservatives” if you like)
3. He’s not part of the DC machine. He speaks plainly and actually makes good faith efforts to follow through on his promises.
4. Related to #3, he’s a cultural outsider. In spite of his money, he’s boorish and common. He’s not part of the “smart set” and honestly seems to appreciate the Deplorables™ rather than just using them for photo ops.
These reasons sum up why they hate him so viciously.
And #3 is all the explanation any sane and rational person would need to explain why all of those white, poor, Obama voters switched to Trump. They got bit, good and hard, by career politicians, and that’s all Hillary ever was.
What it is, started back when Obama was elected. It really doesn’t have anything to do with Trump in particular, because whatever GOP person won, they’d be Hitler just the same. I think the one thing about Trump is that he fucks with them and so it makes them just a little bit more crazy. Anyway, back when Obama won, that was supposed to usher in a thousand year reign for Democrats. But it didn’t last too long. The Democrats super majority in Congress was decimated in the following midterms, throughout Obama’s 8 years. So the Republicans had Congress now, but at least the Democrats still had the Whitehouse. Until Trumputin stole it from them. That’s what this is all about, the Democrats have almost zero power at the national level and it’s not fair because it was supposed to be a thousand year reign! Wait until they fail to win in the midterms this year, they’re going to go even more batshit crazy. Then they’ll decide once and for all that they aren’t winning because they aren’t far enough left. It’s going to be fun.
It’s a fucking quilt museum.
This reminded me of a place in Indianapolis which had rugs from Afghanistan with AK47s and attack helicopters in the designs.
Bernie! is on the warpath, this morning. We must stave off the degenerate oligarchs however we can. America is unanimously dedicated to progressive goals, but the Man is keeping us down.
In the last 24 hours I have read or heard claims that in Soviet Russia they had no hunger, no state sponsored murder, no crime and no alcoholism. In the same 24 hours I heard champions of socialism (breadline Bernie) claim that breadlines were a good thing, a quarter of the country is irredeemable (camps for adults Hillary), crime is irrelevant (I dont care about crime Metzenbaum), and that we must create the new soviet man (a nation of worthless drunks Krushchev).
They are liars. They know exactly what they are doing and the results.
Speaking of, saw an excellent article yesterday about “growing up in a progressive utopia”, aka the Soviet Union. Not sure if it was mentioned here yesterday, but worth reading for sure.
http://quillette.com/2018/05/18/growing-progressive-utopia/
Fantastic essay.
Damn straight.
Don’t forget that Soviet women had better orgasms.
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/12/opinion/why-women-had-better-sex-under-socialism.html
It’s because none of them were fat because the gruel was being rationed.
“no alcoholism”
Umm, were any Russians living in Russia at that time?
“I know some have strong feelings about gun rights but I want you to know I’ve hit rock bottom and I am not interested in your views as it pertains to this issue,”
And I dont care about your views as pertains this issue. My inalienable rights are inalienable. If we come to blows over this you are going to lose.
That’s pretty much where I’m at. There’s no point in debating anymore; they’re not going to listen. No matter how much principle, how much data, how much logic you throw at them, their minds are made up and nothing is going to change it. At that point the only response is:
“Fuck you, you can’t have my guns.”
They should really ask themselves 2 questions. Do you want another civil war? Who do you think wins a civil war over the 2nd Amendment? If you think you can count on the cops and soldiers to use their guns on your behalf, you might want to talk to some first.
I remember a few years back some prog had written an article where they imagined that if it ever came down to it, the government would have caches of weapons where only them (the good people) could find them. And so they would just go get those when the time comes and defeat the dumb rednecks. They were actually serious about this.
They’re insane.
There seems to be three kinds: 1) Rose colored glasses. Completely naive that think seizing all guns will give us a crime free society and not the rule of the fist. 2) Those that are culturally separated from anyone who does endorse the second and hate them. For them it is about punishing the hated other. 3) The cynical who want to put their boot on society. They know they can never have the totalitarianism they want if the citizenry is armed.
I think this Sheriff is a #3.
It’s not the gun grabbers that need to be convinced, it’s the vast majority of don’t care people in the middle.
Best thing to do is shift the Overton window away from the gun grabbers.
There’s no used to debate anything with the left. They’re wrong about everything, no need to argue.
Greetings all. It’s rained 14 inches since last Sunday and it’s still going to rain more through tomorrow, then two days off before it starts to rain again. Prediction is 3-7″+ over the next week.
Anyone have an ark I can borrow?
I’m done loaning arks. Last time I did that Noah fucker crashed it into a mountain.
I LOL’d
Noah was a drunk. I’m only doped up on benzos. Totally different.
Better living-through-cataclysmic-floods through chemistry!
Send some of it this way.
My ark is sitting atop the only dry piece of land left in Maryland right now, so I won’t be loaning it out anytime soon.
“I’d love to lend it to you, but there’s just no way to move it through all this water.”
Re Sharpton and that clown D in Connecticut about guns.
And just in general as a whole.
Looks like the left are gonna go with the George Costanza ‘it’s not a lie if you believe it’ strategy.
I say go for it. Because when reality hits, the blow up will be SPECTACULAR.
I would be happy to hook Sara Jay up with a bed.
Tammy Baldwin’s schtick this election cycle? The opioid crisis. You see because her mom was a druggie that means people should have to live in debilitating pain.
Jesus, just because my dad’s parents were both alcoholics (and both of them had parents that were as well) doesn’t mean he advocates prohibition. Even my Dad’s cousin, who also grew up with alcoholics for parents ( until they found religion), is merely a teetotaler himself, and although he doesn’t mind harsh alcohol regulation, I can convince him otherwise sometimes (although it is tough, his son died after getting clean from a myriad of addictions by being in a crash with a drunk driver).
Listening to these Meet the Press idiots talk about guns is depressing. The same old nonstop litany of vague unsupported assertions about “Americans agree”. Everybody wants universal background checks. We all want tougher restrictions on crazy folks. Raise the age. On an on.
And now, the lt governor of Texas is on ABC reciting the SoCon catechism of violent video games and abortion devalues life. A mew (to me) one; there are too many doors in our schools! Good grief.
Violent culture has devalued life!
Think out of the box, George.
Worst case scenario: killing law enforcement officers.
Why is that bad?
Pray for our country, George.
Now we have some ranting crybaby blabbering about teh dreadly cellphone gunz!
Ranting crybaby is telling me how morally superior he is. Here we go. More laws. Maybe we just need to go farther. That damn Second Amendment needs to go!
Now the “reasonable” lady is talking about the kid who said she was expecting a mass shooting, because they happen everywhere, all the time. No mention of dialing back the level of hysteria and egregious lying and disseminating bogus inflated “statistics”.
Yeah, this wouldn’t be like firing a belt-fed machine gun into your foot at all.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/obamas-education-secretary-lets-boycott-school-until-gun-laws-change/2018/05/19/5ce3ebb0-5bab-11e8-8836-a4a123c359ab_story.html
I encourage this wholeheartedly; we could get school choice and delegitimization of the gun grabbers all in one fell swoop.
Oh noes! Terrorist enabler might die! How sad!

It can’t be just Team Red. Is it because he’s crass? Maybe, some people think there should be decorum at the top.
I think this is a huge part of it. He’s not part of the Mandarin class.
He has no lifetime investment in public service. He mocks their notions of Presidentialness. He offends their sensibilities. He’s a hick and a rube, and he wrecked Hillary’s fairy story.
I read the other day about how much jockeying for access is going on and how much money is changing hands for that access, apparently all to no avail. I think a bigger part of it is that he isnt for sale. Look at how much money The Chocolate Jesus shoveled out to favored groups and individuals. There isnt going to be any solar panel scams under Trump. There isnt any Acorn. Trump cut all of their water off. I think that is what is pissing them off the most. He doesnt coordinate with CNN. He’s just not playing their game.
Which president complained that every two-bit SOB with a dollar was coming in his office and telling him what to do? Was it Truman?
Living proof that White Supremacy is bullshit is the fact that Al Sharpton is still walking the streets as a free man.
If you take a Great Dane on a plane as a service dog, you deserve to get punched in the face.
I love LA’s Koreatown. A bastion of common sense in a city of insanity.
Another example of California being batshit crazy.
https://m.sfgate.com/local/article/palo-alto-pastor-tweets-gregory-stevens-baptist-12928428.php
“On his public Twitter account, which has since been removed, the Rev. Gregory Stevens called the city “an elitist sh** den of hate,” and “disgusting.” Stevens also lambasted the city’s “social justice” on Earth Day, calling it a “f****** joke” and criticized the church’s elderly community.“
He’s not upset that the citizens of Palo Alto are wealthy, woke sjws, he’s upset that they only pretend to be and won’t put their money where their mouth is.
That’s called being a progressive. Talk about what everyone else should do with their money, while hoarding your own.
There isnt going to be any solar panel scams under Trump.
I just heard somebody whining about how mean old Trumpelstiltskin was wrecking the solar scam, yesterday. What a rat fink that guy is.
Goody. Downtown Denver keeps transforming into Silicon Valley East, bringing along their shitty politics.

Wouldn’t be so bad if their stupidity didn’t drive state politics also.
Airbnb finally responded to Jay’s manager a month later. According to their legal team, her access to the platform was restricted because Airbnb had found “advertised sexual services” and supplied a link to Jay’s official website and an escort site that had been set up in Panama. This type of discrimination seems to go against Airbnb’s own non-discrimination policy encouraging hosts to be open-minded, a policy that claims to foster “inclusion and respect” and “undermines prejudice rooted in misconception, misinformation and misunderstanding.”
You fucked up, you trusted them.
Wouldn’t be so bad if their stupidity didn’t drive state politics also.
Exactly. When I lived there, they were pretty much restricted to fucking up Boulder. They never could have passed gun control laws statewide in the ’80s.
Just wait ’til Amazon HQ2 sets up shop, with all those refugee Seattlites.
Mrs Hobbit and I will be touring the Midwest and Mississippi valley next month and will be traveling through known glib hangouts.
We’ll be in the northern Chicago area (staying in WI) around Tuesday the 5th and will be in Grand Rapids from the 7th thru the 11th. Then we will be following US31 to Mobile which will include a couple of days in Bowling Green. After Mobile we’ll head back to NM.
We’re keeping dates a bit vague because we’re wanting to take our time to see the local sights. If we’re passing through anyone’s area then I’d be up for a visit and a beer. If we can’t visit then pointers to local attractions would be appreciated.
… Hobbit
I have a trade show in downtown Chicago on the 5th and 6th. If you’re around on the 4th, let me know, omwc at protonmail period com.
We can adjust our schedule to make it the 4th. Per my previous posting, I’m bringing SP some red chile.

She’s been all smiles about that.
