Happy Thursday everyone. This will be my last links of the week as I am attending a nuptials tomorrow afternoon. Given the invite list, I think it is safe to say that I am going to be encouraged to drink heavily after the ceremony. And perhaps before and during! And then my beautiful wife is turning 29 (again!) on Saturday. So, I’m basically mailing it in from here on out. Starting with the links!
As a “libertarian”, I’m not sure I’m in favor of any more government “control” than they already have, but I do admire this congressman’s idea that the US in more in need of “idiot control” than another gun law.
Britain begins to feel its way towards the proud pan-European tradition of holding referendums until they get a vote they like, then quitting.
Listen, buddy, don’t fuck up the commute because you’re an idiot. Pick a less disruptive form of autodarwination.
Florida Man gets a new, faster ride. For when you absolutely, positively have to get to your meth dealer in minutes.
What happens when a country boy drops acid?
It was an oddly prophetic comment, as I am still at work because of a “crisis” that must be addressed today, even though it was known in October.
All hail UCS.
UCS! UCS!
University of Central Shithole?
UCS is a Florida Man?
Uninterruptible clitoris supply?
I’m still working too – some shitlord cut taxes and now we have figure out what to do with $100 million.
Feel free to give it to me.
Spicy Latin girls guaranteed to get your blood pumping.

3, 3, 3, 3 oh and 3.
Uh, #45, por favor.
Lotta contenders for T H I C C Thursday in this drop.
7, 7, 7, 7 and 7
Can’t go wrong with most of these, though, even if 11 and 44 are the exact same picture.
Ditto on #7
Twins ?
13 looks like an ex.
She’s excluded from the orgy.
I used to date a Mexican girl. Her cousins were super hot.
Until they turn 30 and start plumping up. I lived in Yuma, man, I saw how it is.
Orgy.
Having come of age in South Texas I can attest that Latina women are as HAWT as they look.
Lots of hotness there but I’ll give the honors to 1, 5, 27, 43, and 45
Spy planes be wack
I was obsessed with the SR-71 when I was a kid. Still one of the coolest planes ever built.
Here’s a great story from one of the pilots.
That story never gets old
Same goes with the anecdotes requesting FL600
Yes, descending to FL600. Lol.
That. Was. Awesome.
SR-71, Stealth Bomber and Stealth Fighter here (dating myself). Nice link!
My buddies and I used to build airplane models. Some of my favorites were the P38 Lighting, the F4 Phantom and of course the Blackbird.
Naturally, being 1970s boys, we hung the models up and strafed them with our BB guns.
It was the greatest plane ever built. I had a chance to chat with Kelly Johnson, who told me his goal was to be able to fly next to a shell, read the serial number, then blow past it.
Warthog *cough* Warthog
That was great.
Awesome story!
I work two exits up from the Air & Space Museum annex at Dulles. It has crossed my mind more than once to go pop over there for lunch to see the Blackbird. Unfortunately, the $15 parking usually scares me off.
If that took place in Philly they’d find his head next to the Canadian robot’s.
SEPTA would run that fool over.
They did run over some fool trespasser yesterday. Of course, the newspaper called the person a “pedestrian.”
Ah, 29. The last birthday you’ll ever need.
That reminds me of something…
Oh, right, “Logan’s Run”.
Renew!!!!
All you bitcoiners — I was reading this distributed trust framework and wanted to know if we could get an educated opinion at some point in the future: Stellar Consensus Protocol.
That’s a pretty heavy .pdf. I’ll take a crack at parsing it. It might be better to start with an introduction to distributed trust schemes. They’re related to bitcoinin the use of blockchains but there are enough differences where it would be better to go over them in general before reviewing individual ones.
Unless you were asking personally, instead of soliciting an article.
I’m soliciting. I was sort of tracking those distributed trust scheme differences, but lack the full context to evaluate the claims.
Ok. I’ll review trshmonter’s bitcoin posts to see what good jumping off points would be and work on getting something typed up, and see if I pass muster.
Thank you.
Besides a general explanation and a review of Stellar Consensus, any others you want covered? Etherium is probably the most well known.
I dislike any Federal attempts to create more gun control.
I do like this quote:
If that’s not a good enough incentive, then they need to be fired.
Not on the menu for pubsec, unfortunately.
I haven’t heard say anything about it (which doesn’t mean much, because I don’t pay much attention to him), but if Trump is looking for a signature issue for 2018, he could do a hell of a lot worse than civil service reform. Aside from its considerable merits, I think it would be hugely popular in every household that doesn’t have someone cashing a government paycheck, and most of them aren’t voting for him anyway.
Hey! Some of us who are cashing government paychecks would love to see Civil Service Reforms.
^this.
Last time I met someone who managed to fire some government workers, I congratulated him and bought him a beer. It couldn’t have been easy.
Hey Q, thanks for recommending Protonmail. You aren’t kidding, it is very easy to use. Looks like I’ll be retiring my Gmail account!
No prob Bob. I’m lovin’ it. Not sure how many friends I’m gonna lose over the screed I sent out, but whatever. Who needs ’em.
Using the VPN blocker as well. I will probably start sending money their way. It’s a relief to have that. I’ll send out recommendations backed up by thoughts on cyberspace security instead though.
No prob Bob?
Mister Dobalina?
Damn you.
+1 Funky Homospaien
I second protonmail, I use it for my important stuff. There are some interesting reads on how it is not as secure as it claims however. But I’m sure it’s better than gmail.
Anything is better than nothing and they even admit on their website that it isn’t perfect.
Q I have set up a proton account as well. Many mahalos!
Tell your friends!
You can even send them my screed if you want.
Because a few white guys have never been able to get anything done in the history of the planet.
Do they make burgers?
*narrows gaze*
Yes, but only on white bread with a dollop of mayonnaise.
Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins are just “three white guys.”
That said, there would be no way in 1960’s America that a black man would be the first person on the moon. Even if they were the most qualified.
Even if they were the most qualified? I’m torn on that.
I consider myself quite the student on 1960s NASA, and it was ruthlessly meritocratic. I feel Craft, Kranz, Slayton, et al., would have had no problem going with a black guy if they were the most qualified. The pushback would have come from Southern politicians.
Its true. That’s also why the mission failed, because NASA didn’t have enough diversity at the time. People from diverse backgrounds would have brought a more comprehensive view of the mathematics, rocket science and physics to the project.
Well, they did have this guy choose where to land.
Ah but that guy is the white people of non white people!
Weren’t Arabs considered white at the time?
And here is the guys landing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RONIax0_1ec
This version is annotated so the lay viewer can understand the communications.
But since it is white guys, it was not noble, heroic or even ballsy it was merely cislord heteronormative oppression.
Don’t forget about those Hidden Figures!
Well, they might have sent black people to the moon first, if only so they could scrap the return part of the mission and save costs.
You mean you folks never done heard of the old Negro Space Program?
“Space … is one cold muthafucka”
Operation Infinite Eclipse
Don’t forget who designed the rocket (Werher Von Braun)
“Might as well have painted a swastika on the Saturn V!!!”
– Progs, probably
Yeah, but they would be nothing without climbing on the backs of those chicks from that movie.
On topic: I reiterate that I don’t have a problem with the DACAs staying, just no path to citizenship, ever. You forfeit ever getting to become a citizen if you stay. You can go home and get in line like everyone else if you wanna be a citizen.
I have two additions that I would require to not say “just toss them out”.
First, those who committed additional crimes must go.
Second, an end to birthright citizenship by geography. If you don’t have one citizen parent, you’re a national of your parents home countr(y/ies), and are treated as such.
Even Germany gave up on the second, so you’re never gonna see it in US.
The first one is iffy – if a Guatemalan who came at age 2 joins a local gang and knocks over a liquor store (or smokes some marijuana with some jazz or whatever Guatemalans do), why is he Guatemala’s problem? I’d argue he’s integrating into local culture.
That second point can lead the sticky situation of a large class of legal, permanent non-citizen residents. Fertile ground for a civil unrest.
Also, no special discounts or citizen/permanent resident benefits with any taxpayer money. Illegals, including DACA, can pay international student rates at taxpayer owned & supported schools for example. The problem is that they can still procreate citizen children (and will likely do so if allowed to legally remain) and milk via them.
In an idle thought, I’d love for ICE to raid state and local governments that have extended benefits to illegals and seize the names of recipients for potential deportation processing and charge the state employees, especially the clerks and administrators, with 8 USC 1324.
I think you got something there. If you allow them to vote Democrat, you’d have a workable compromise!
Being as I work for Army Recruiting, I’m OK with letting them pass a background and joining the military to earn expedited citizenship.
I’m not. Why should working for the state give you privileges?
Um…no.
You cannot give special dispensation to people doing that. That is not equality under law – what do you do with the disabled, the conscientious objector, etc?
I don’t want a defacto Foreign Legion either.
Foederati did not turn out well for the Romans, I doubt we’ll fare better.
FFL worked out great, though. Probably because it’s integrated in the French military structure, and is commanded by French officers, while allowing promotion from within.
Would you settle for colonial regiments? Would spice up the parades if they are allowed their own uniforms.
Well, maybe, it seems these days all uniforms are converging onto a single design…
Colonial Regiments are for operations in the colonies.
We’d have to keep them overseas forever for it to work.
Working on that. Still some troops in Germany after 70 years It’s been close to 17 years in Afghanistan. And how many bases do we have worldwide.
When you’re a naval power, you get to fight all your wars overseas.
Hence Indians in Iraq, Gurkhas in Italy, Aussies in Libya, and that’s just WW2.
Joke’s on you. We already expedite naturalization for both the individual and his or her family due to military service.
Course what cracks me up are the jokers who stay in for 2+ years, never file their paperwork and then after they get out, commit some kind of crime and folks are complaining about them being deported. They had years of opportunity.
Other part is people who join the service for this and stay in, then get kicked out at 8 years because they failed to complete their citizenship requirements.
You beat me to it. One of my friends from tech school was a Russian immigrant seeking to expedite his citizenship.
Personally, I have no problem with someone gaining American citizenship par le sang versé. It’s a less arbitrary standard than either family reunification or “merit”.
We’ve been doing this with i551 (Green Card Holders) for years. The current DACA path has been opened and closed a number of times over the past 3 years, mostly because of background requirements.
That was explained to me when I asked, during basic training…”why are all these filipinos here?”
To my understanding we are obligated to allow Filipinos under a treaty with them. There’s actually a VA hospital in Manilla.
Yep, special benefits over there (retirement bennies go a lot further too). Of course, most Pinoys are pretty solid seamen…….”hello pilipino monkey” /ch 13 btb
What did Friedrich von Steuben, Thaddeus Kosciuzko, Johann de Kalb, Casimir Pulaski, and John Paul Jones ever do to you?
They were officers, not grunts. I have a feeling Swissy wouldn’t mind outsourcing some mid-level positions…
Fine, let me rephrase, then.
What did the Irish ever do to you?
Risen multiple times on behalf of damnable Stuarts?
The original members of Led Zeppelin ?
just no path to citizenship, ever.
Not gonna happen. You know the sob stories will start back up in a few years.
We don’t hear many sob stories from lawful permanent residents (green card holders). The only difference would be no option to apply for citizenship. Millions of LPRs never apply for citizenship (or apply decades after they could, like Peter Jennings)because it’s not that important to them.
Putting aside the moral issue of blaming children for their parents’ actions. What is the benefit in not allowing permanent residents to become citizens?
Still broke the law getting here. Rewarding illegal activity gets you more. The principled thing to do (if we’re accepting the concept of borders, national sovereignty and rule of law) is to deport them. Allowing them to stay but preclude citizenship is already a compassionate compromise.
Mens rea ain’t just a river in Egypt.
Says a guy with a personal interest in Womens Rea’s
And culi. Don’t forget the culus.
I thought “mens rea” was about women, and their periods.
Still broke the law getting here and remaining here. I don’t fault an underage child who was brought here, but once they turned 18 and became an adult, they’re fully responsible for their own actions then, including remaining illegally.
And if they don’t like, they can thank their parents, like so many, for fucking them over.
Yes, they should have abandoned the country and society they identify with and moved to an alien nation where living conditions are shittier, there is less opportunity and they don’t speak the language. Not to mention in half the world, acting American means people see you as ripe for robbing or hate you and want to see you dead.
It’s amazing the number of people on this libertarian site who are insisting that other human being should sacrifice their lives and well being to satisfy the whims of the collective as being the “morally right” and “responsible” thing to do!
What’s next? Compulsory state-funded abortions for women on welfare?
What’s next? Compulsory state-funded abortions for women on welfare?
No! We’re libertarian, they should have to pay for it themselves!
Actually, too many people conflate “allowing immigrants in” and “bringing immigrants in.” VERY different things.
“Rewarding illegal activity gets you more.”
That doesn’t seem to apply here.
Although the U.S. sucks in regards to enforcing its own laws and following its own policies in regards to immigration. In many of these cases, the parents over-stayed their visas, didn’t fill out the right paperwork, etc. Mistakes were made on both sides.
Regardless, moving forward, what is the benefit in not allowing permanent residents to become citizens?
It may be irrelevant to the DACA kids, but it incentivizes more adult illegal immigration in the future. I also consider citizenship a privilege and it is morally unacceptable to grant it to people who, through their own actions or not, did not follow the process that has been established for the people who did follow the rules. It’s easy to turn this into a partisan football and say “THEMZ CAINT VOTE CUZ THEY VOTE DEMUKRAT” but that is irrelevant to me. I want consistent application of the law and, as I said, allowing them to stay at all is already a compromise.
I’d love to see the “comprehensive reform” that keeps getting teased resulting in a much easier process to enter the country legally and no more *wink wink nudge nudge* looking the other way about illegal immigration. The question has always been what to do about people that are already here and I think this is a decent compromise that has to be applied consistently, regardless of how old you were when you got here. Them’s the breaks.
YOU BREAK THE CHAIR!
YOU SLEEP THE BED!
GO HOME TO YOUR HOUSE!
I don’t see how it is morally unacceptable to grant it to people who did not follow the process that has been established, because shouldn’t be expected to abandon their parents or comprehend immigration law.
Regardless, whether it’s immoral, or whether laws should be based on morality, I’m asking a practical question: what is the benefit in not allowing permanent residents to become citizens?
“Five white guys” is how Gamergate started!
Sounds like burger joint in the deep South.

Troll level: EPIC
I have an erection.
That would be hilarious if it goes through.
The replies are hilarious.
Especially the ones that don’t get that, given the amount of money he spent on Hogan’s litigation, I’m sure he has no problem spending a little more… and then liquidating the whole thing.
As a libertarian, he wouldn’t feel right setting literal fire to something he didn’t own.
Peter Thiel: Welcome, everyone, to the new Gawker! I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you that you’re all fired.
The impotent lefty frustration in those responses is a beautiful sight.
God, for once I want to see someone wear lefty institution’s skin and demand respect!
Lefty instituions by their nature are not respectable, so there’s no way to co-opt their good name.
Ultra Grandmaster Epic Trolling would be to turn around and resell it to Breitbart for $1.
That is beautiful.
A country boy on acid?
I thought you meant this one
APA goes into damage control mode.
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2018/jan/10/american-psychiatric-association-calls-end-arm-cha/
Psychiatrist 1: Shit- people are going to realize that psychiatry is no different from alchemy
Psychiatrist 2: That’s too bad, because I could really go for some gold right now
Psychiatrist 1: And how does gold make you feel?
Psychiatrist 1: And how does gold make you feel?
Psychiatrist 2: Not as good as your mother.
Like yodeling for joy!
We’re not talking about Nazi gold. We already know how much you Swiss love you some Nazi gold
+1 gold filling
Stop being racist. They love all the golds equally.
^THIS^
Swiss Commander: We need you to guard this vault
Swiss: Ok. Well, what’s in the vault
Swiss Commander: Wouldn’t the Mossad like to know
Swiss: What?
Swiss Commander: Just ignore what I said. This vault definitely doesn’t hold any Nazi gold
Swiss: Ok. Well, what do I do if someone tries to get in the vault? Do I cat butt them or make cow butt them? I mean what am I authorized to do? Cat butts only or what?
Swiss Commander: …..Whaaa?
JOKES ON YOU…THESE GUYS HAVE VAULT DUTY!
I thought those guys had Vult duty.
STEVE SMITH THINK YOU FUNNY! RAPE YOU LAST.
A guy is walking down the street, when out of a dark alley, a thug jumps out and muggs him. Beats the snot out of the guy, takes his wallet, keys, etc., and leaves him on the street. The next person walking down the sidewalk, who happens to be a psychiatrist, sees this bloody mess, runs up to the guy, has a look, and say, “WOW! Whoever did this to you really needs help!”
…Ill be here all week.
Yawn. Call me when they start filing ethics complaints with the state licensing boards.
Of course the train guy is white. Fuckin’ wypipo.
“The lunatic was still mumbling about equality when a Brooklyn-bound train — warned by the authorities — slowly pulled into the station and stopped at the entrance.”
That’s a…strange sentence.
Just run the motherfucker over. He won’t be missed.
And possibly ruin a perfectly good train. I think not.
Doggone near lost a $400 handcart…
It almost makes sense if you read it in James Lipton’s voice.
Those trains have been warned a thousand times if they’ve been warned once, and yet they never listen.
I meant the lunatic mumbling about equality part but now that you pointed out the disobedient train I laughed quite hard.
After the Peter Thiel buying Gawker erection, this might make me ejaculate.

I probably laughed a little too hard at that.
No catalepsy is a horrible skin disease that causes your pussy to rot and fall off.

I am still at work because of a “crisis” that must be addressed today, even though it was known in October.
Did you try telling them Poor planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part?
Unfortunately if the person asking is higher up on the food chain, it does.
I got some good news from my boss today. Somehow or another I got a bonus, but why? Here’s what our CEO wrote in the letter:
Fuck Trump. He’s no statesman! He’s making a mockery of the office.
Or something like that…
Fuck Trump… He’s making a mockery of the office.
If he keeps it up, I might even let him fuck me, …and I don’t roll that way.
We got a letter saying they are restructuring our purchase of another company because of the cuts. I could go for a bonus…
It ain’t much. Enough for some fun times on Luckygunner. It was just funny how they explicitly said it was because of the corporate tax break.
I was told that greedy businessmen would just hoard the extra profits from the corporate tax rate change.
Prog: “that’s not how this is supposed to work! That’s not how any of this is supposed to work!”
*Plugs ears, stomps feet*
I am sure some of this is just to try to show people, hey, this tax deal was not only a good thing for evil corperations, but it materially affects your life for the better.
How does Trump’s cock taste tovarish?
/TOS
I’d guess “classy”.
I mean, what else could it be?
I got a raise above and beyond New York’s minimum wage, although the story is a lot more complicated than that.
UN pushes countries to open up migration despite US boycott
Yes, attack the US! Such an outlier on immigration compared to that big tolerant open-bordered world!
As for the 258 million in limbo — who wouldn’t want to take them and avoid all that “self-harm”?
That would be the 5th largest country by population on its own.
“Norway is large enough and empty enough to take in 40 to 50 million homeless Bengalis. If the Norwegians say that, all in all, they would rather not take them in, is this to be considered racism? I think not. It is simply self-preservation, the first law of species.”
-Gore Vidal
These days it’s considered racism, though.
OK Trump, defund them harder.
Just evict these assholes already.
No fuckin’ lie. Turn the building into a Trump Hotel.
Classy!
Defund it to about three people, including a receptionist to answer the phone and a Secretary-General whose sole role is to mouth platitudes Rodney King style from time to time. Break fucking kneecaps if the S-G or employees start thinking their role is to be a leader or bite the hand that feeds them.
I was obsessed with the SR-71 when I was a kid. Still one of the coolest planes ever built.
I saw one take off from Peterson Field in Colorado Springs once. My friend and I were coming back from some place east of town, and saw this black dot take off. No big deal, except it was about ten times as fast as a normal airplane. It appeared to be over Denver in about thirty seconds. We looked at each other at the same time, and said, “DID YOU SEE THAT?” Holy shit.
The next day we found out the SR71 had been in town.
I used to see the U-2s take off from Kadena when I was in Okinawa, which was nothing that special except the wingspan is enormous and they were pretty quiet for a jet.
If you’re behind them anywhere on base they’re loud as fuck taking off. They would rattle my windows less than half a mile away. To the sides, front, or once they’re in the air they’re quiet.
Saw one in an airshow once, back in the Reagan era (March AFB). Cool as hell; they would not let the crowd get closer than about 100 yds of the sitting plane.
At the end of the show it took off in the early twilight with afterburners glowing and disappeared like a rocket.
Never saw an SR71 flying but did get a bit of a treat one day when I was sitting a red light on my bike.
Hear a huge roar and then look up to see a B2 heading west after showing itself off at the Chicago air show. Not quite as amazing an an SR71 but if you didn’t know what it was you’d swear it was a UFO.
When I was stationed at FT Irwin, saw one flying at near stall speed along ’10 mile stretch’ with two escort aircraft. Looked like two sparrows chasing a buzzard off.
Almost exactly as cool as the SR71.
March ARB in Riverside CA has an Air Museum, and An SR71 they let you sit in, I have a picture somewhere with junior in it, back in 2000 or so,
They were still operational and on mission in 81-82? Thus the security.
Coolest thing I saw was an F-117 taking off from Langley when my family was stationed there. Watched it come right towards me, but I only started hearing it after it passed overhead.
Me? Two A-10s orbiting over me in NE Afghanistan…I felt safe. Nobody fucked with us when the Hogs were around.
*discards post about cool planes at Oshkosh*
No , that’s OshKosh, please do it Tundra!
Whenever they’d check in with us and we’re looking for something to do I’d have the JTAC send them to orbit the nearby patrols. The little birds were good for this too. They could see overturned dirt in the roads ahead of patrols and warn them ahead of time. I think we found something like 40 IEDs this way in the six months I was there. We had an AC130 check in one time looking for work and we felt like gods that night.
No kidding – “Hey, I am just like Jove! I can summon and throw lightning bolts!”
Between this story, and this one – there’s just no way I can understand why the A-10 isn’t a higher priority for upgrades/rebuilds.
The simple concept of building a plane around a gun – and it actually worked – is awesome. (the whole “Devil’s Cross” bits from “Red Storm Rising” are awesome).
In the Army only got to see the Air National Guard use them during joint training in FT. Indiantown Gap.
Because we can perform the same function without being shot at. We can hit the same target with a bomb that has better accuracy from a lot higher up.
If you had a gun and a knife and someone wanted to get into a knife fight would you? Or would you just shoot him with your gun?
Not to mention any up-and-coming rivals who put serious effort into air superiority will be able to blow it out of the sky. I get that it’s supposed to be used after air superiority is established but it won’t do a lot of good if tanks are rolling covered by fifth gen fighter aircraft.
I would beg to differ about being able to do the same job. Speed Is Life for a pilot…but he don’t see shit, burning along in his F-15 at 10,000 feet.
And, by the same logic, we should get rid of all attack helicopters too…
That is what cameras and communication from the ground are for. The communications between the ground and the air, while not perfect are far better than they used to be.
The problem is the CAS role in a threat free environment (the only one the A-10 can survive in) is even better filled by a modern propeller aircraft similar to the A-1 Skyraider and the interdiction role is better filled by a large mid level bomber carrying SDB’s and standoff missiles.
It IS time to retire the A-10, the Air Forces mistake is in thinking the F-35 is the right platform to replace it with
Nobody will ever read it, but A-10 was built for a threat heavy environment (ie. the Cold War). It’s meant to survive a SAM hit or anything else, complete the mission and get back – half the engines are practically modular – pretty much the opposite of the F35 or anything else we’ve got – pretty much what you need in a modern ECM heavy environment too.
Simply unkillable, in more ways than one.
I was at the Air Force Museum when the SR-71 and the F-117 landed on the runway behind the museum. To give people some perspective, the runway the landed on was designed for WWII era airplanes. As the F-117 taxied it came so close to me I could touch it.
Lockheed in Lancaster, I’ve seen the SR71, and the U-2 takeoff, I was impressed with the U2s Climbout, The Angle of attack looked impossible,
Fat Albert doing a JATO take-off ranks pretty highly on coolest plane take-offs. Still disappointed that the Four Horsemen C-130 demonstration squadron disbanded before I was born.
Never saw an SR71 fly but in the late 80’s I was in the AF stationed at Luke AFB just outside of Phoenix where I did flightline maintenance on the avionics systems of the brand spanking new F-15 E model.
Some of the coolest things I saw while there were…
During a war game and ANG A-7 somehow penetrated our air defenses unseen and “bombed” our ATC tower with chaff and then bugged off into the mountains before our ready 5’s could catch him. Needless to say, we lost that game.
I saw an F-16 have an engine meltdown on take off one day. Not sure if it ingested a bird or something else caused it but he had just reached the end of the runway at an altitude of maybe 200 feet and all of a sudden there was a 6′ jet of flame that shot out of the fuselage over the right wing. Somehow the pilot managed to retain control and wrangle it around for an emergency landing.
One day we had a B-1 doing touch and goes off our runway for like 20 minutes. No clue why he was there doing it as officially our runway was not long enough for him to actually land and take off safely but he was really hotdogging it and acting like an F-15 pilot. Every time he reached the end of the runway he’d stand the plane on it’s tail and do a max Afterburner climb to about 2000 feet before turning around and doing it again. When he did it those 4 huge engines hitting the ground from that low altitude felt like a 5.0 earthquake even from 2 miles away and the plane was impossibly maneuverable for it’s size.
Got to watch a couple FCF’s. An FCF is a “Full Combat Flight”, they happen any time an airframe is down for maintenance for too long, the FCF is a requirement to recertify the airframe is ready for use. They shut down all other air ops so the FCF can be done right over the base and quickly return in an emergency and have the most senior pilot take the plane up and try to break it with every air combat maneuver they can think of. No script or choreography he is supposed to just play with the thing. The coolest one of these was an F-16 jockey in the middle of the FCF was flying near his stall speed down the center line of the runway at maybe 4000 altitude. He reached the center of the runway hit his airbrake and did something else and put himself into a perfectly flat spin, made 3 complete revolutions and dropped about 3000 feet in the process and then somehow did something to just magically stop the rotation without rolling the wings at all (certainly not enough to be noticed) and accelerated in a straight line on exactly he same heading he was on when the spin started.
and finally a bonus one that happened at Eglin AFB in Florida when I was in Tech School. Eglin has a road that goes around the end of the runway maybe 500 feet from the end of it and down about a 20 foot embankment. My car at the time had a sunroof and I had it removed that day and driving past the runway all of a sudden there is this explosion of noise and blast coming from everywhere all at once, I looked up straight into the afterburners of an F-15 doing a max climb from maybe 200 feet and the exhaust from his engines was blowing directly down into my sunroof. It was *REALLY* hard to not lose control of the car and just stare up at it.
Just switch parties.

Indeed, academics at the Heterodox Academy have concurred that the most important sex difference that is relevant to the question of unequal gender ratios in certain industries is that of enjoyment and interest.

I work for a non-profit, so the company that employs me won’t see a huge direct benefit to its bottom line due to the tax cut. However, I am a lender and HOLY SHIT have I seen a huge uptick in requests for financing from for-profit companies. These guys/gals are all giving the green light to infrastructure projects they’ve been holding off on for years. We’re talking huge 1Gbs broadband systems that are going to be built in rural America over the next 5-6 years – which in and of itself will create stimulus in rural communities.
Pretty exciting stuff. My company will benefit “bigly” from these cuts just because of the increased volume. Also, I will benefit personally.
So there were a shitload of shovel-ready projects just waiting for taxes to be cut. Yet the lightbringer couldn’t figure that out.
Why don’t you crawl a little further up Trump’s ass Deploranaziboy!
/TOS
Adding to that impetus is the threat of inflation coming soon. The bond market is done fer.
Bravo. I assume smaller independent companies? Or government bodies & public/private
cronyism“partnerships”?Yes they’re all small and medium independent telcos. Rural broadband and telephone service is subsidized by the federal government, however. It’s one of the few instances where there is genuine market failure imo, but maybe I’m biased.
I’ve got friends at the smaller providers (like single exchange size) and it’s amazing what they’ve been doing over the last 10 years. Shake my head, pour another cup of coffee, and read the latest genius roadmap to do the minimum to suck CAFII monies at my own desk.
Yeah we’re starting to court CAF II opportunities right now. It’s overly complicated but we are seeing a ton of interest despite the recent reduction of eligible areas.
I’ll bet there are tens of thousands of projects sitting out there that didn’t make the ROI cut that now will because the after -tax profitability now exceeds whatever “years return” the business had set. This is good for short term lending and spending, but remember, recessions wring out the poor investments and having even more marginally profitable projects makes the
recession longer and deeper.

From a Reuters story about Thiel’s Gawker bid:
A group of former Gawker employees this week abandoned their effort to bid, one of the sources said. They had launched a campaign seeking $500,000 in donations through fundraising site Kickstarter, but failed to reach their goal and have returned the approximately $90,000 they did collect.
I’m surprised they got that much.
They phrase that as if they had a choice. Kickstarter automatically returns monies collected if a campaign fails to reach its goal.

“Countries of diverse aromas” is the correct term.
Calling those countries shitholes is being overly kind.
Some folks think Norway is a shithole too:
Ah, the Swedes…

I wish I could remember which episode of Yes, Minister had them talking about TPLACs — “tin-pot little African countries”.
Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-ez9XZWG7A
4:15 in.
Well, to be fair they kinda are shitholes but not sure why you would prevent them from coming in. Haitians tend to be quite hard working and educated when given the opportunity. It’s a large enough community in Quebec – for obvious reasons. Love of Voodoo for starters because that’s what our economic model is: Vooddo.
And language is the other.
Well, are they shitholes because they are in bad locations, lack natural resources, had wars and invasions?
Or is their shithole status a reflection of the people and society?
The obvious answer is that they are shitholes because of their governments.
Governments are reflections of the people and society.
Eh, not always. I lived in a country that experienced a coup d’état while I was there. The only thing that reflected was some shitbag generals saw an opportunity to rape the treasury.
And the people (including the military) tolerated it.
We tolerate all kinds of shit and indignities from our government.
Well, some did, some didn’t. The didn’ts got killed or disappeared. Point is, unless we’re talking Athenian-style democracy, the people in government are very rarely representative of the larger society.
I didn’t know Haitian and Quebec creoles are the same.

All of this is most likely legal. Pisses me off more than a lot of the illegal white collar crimes committed by those not connected to the government.
There should be some jail time for those involved, including Obama, for the shenanigans at the CFPB. It’s pure corruption.
Trump is working on prison reform?
Dude isn’t wasting time.
So here’s a story from a little while ago, I was sitting in Latin class watching “I, Claudius” (teacher likes older BBC stuff and its based on the written history) and theres a scene where Livilla falsely accused postumus of rape. Now with my quick wit I say, “What’s that? College campuses today?” Instantly a girl named A turns around and says, “Fuck you, go kill yourself.” She’s really lefty and this was thus far my most gratifying experience regarding trolling proggies.
Awesome.
Did you reply So I guess a blow job is out of the question then?
Well that’s my trigger. I fucking hate when people say “go kill yourself.” Really? You just tell people to do that because you don’t like what they said? That isn’t in any way an appropriate response. I can’t stand when people joke around about how something is so bad (usually something mundane like having a bad day) it makes them want to kill themselves either.
It’s very telling that this seems like an appropriate response to leftists. They don’t want the responsibility of rounding you up and doing the deed themselves but would feel no remorse if someone they disagreed with offed themselves. Nice way to absolve themselves of their hostile feelings.
She probably has a “Love Trumps Hate” bumper sticker.
It’s odd that the ones who has the “Love Trumps Hate” bumper stickers are the angriest people in the world.
Nope, although she does have one on her water bottle.
At some point, trolling Lefties becomes a sport.
I was in one of my econ classes during my junior year of college and we got on the subject of universal healthcare and of course I was stupid enough to explain why I didn’t think it was such a good idea to implement universal healthcare in America. People got angry of course but this one girl when she got her turn to speak was shaking with anger and accused me of wanting the poor to die. I started laughing and said she was correct. It went downhill from there.
I’m all for debating ideas as long as it’s done politely and in good faith, but when you make an accusation like the girl in my story or being told to, “go kill yourself,” fuck it all and go full on troll.
Their seething hatred can papered over with proclamations of love and compassion for only so long. It erupts with a venom that has been properly aged in the cellar of their conflicted minds. It really is a site to behold when it spews out. Of course, it’s your fault for causing them to hate.
of course its your fault!
You mean I, CLAVDIVS. Pronounced as it’s spelled, of course.

So, walking the dog the other morning in my northern Virginia suburban neighborhood, we turned a corner and there was a deer head on the sidewalk. Woke me up.
I later saw a neighbor who hunts and asked him “was that YOUR deer head?” “Yeah, do you know who picked it up?” “Call Chris, he was planning to pick it up if it was still there”.
Wait..what now?
Classy. That’s pure redneck behavior.
*Quietly scratches off Virginia from list of potential places to live.
He said he had left it in the backyard after dressing the deer (why he didn’t dispose of it I don’t know) thinking it would be ok since it was so cold. We have some pretty big foxes in the neighborhood (I thought one was a coyote, but everyone told me I was wrong) and he thinks one tried to make off with it.
That’s better than when they dump the carcass on the side of the road. I still remember the first time I stumbled across (literally) a head with the lungs attached.
He’s actually a really good neighbor. He has a place in the mountains and has live trapped a few foxes and taken them up there because another neighbor in my neighborhood has ducks (and lost some to a fox).
Ahh. OK, that makes sense. Didn’t consider a hunter leaving it laying in the back yard.
And there’s a pretty big difference between a fox and a coyote. If you think you saw a coyote, then tell “everyone” to fuck off. 🙂
Yeah, coyote and deer have both adjusted really well to living with people.
Fox tend to be too skittish

Great moments in presidential history?
—-Wall Street Journal
https://www.wsj.com/articles/lawmakers-look-to-sell-immigration-deal-to-a-skeptical-white-house-1515700909
Here’s an excellent opportunity for cosmos to make the case for why immigration is a good things for American, the economy, and the American people.
I’d bet that this opportunity is missed completely. If it’s mentioned over at You Know Where at all, it’ll be to denounce him for his insensitive and racist remarks.
Trump’s attitude on this is refreshing in that one way; namely, he’s really looking at this from the perspective of what’s best for the American people.
Obama didn’t look at it that way at all.
Obama was far more concerned about how US residency would help people from shithole countries. In his mind, caring about the benefits to the American people was racist, selfish, etc., etc.
Like I said, I disagree with Trump on myriad issues–and this issue–but if you can’t make the case for why something is in the best interests of the American people, then you need to go back to the drawing board and figure it out.
P.S. My lawn isn’t about to mow itself.
Oh those shithole countries. I thought he was talking about Europe.
It’s shitholes all the way down.
Given the Dems are hell bent on plumbing the depths of collective guilt, it’s impossible for them to draw the line at geographical borders. Eventually they’ll figure out you can’t fix every wrong through government force or they won’t and widespread violence will be the end result. Free movement of people is a libertarian principle I believe in. Redistribution of resources is a violation of those principles. It’s a catch 22 for me.
I want to have this discussion but I’m on my tablet and I won’t be able to compete in full essay form. But suffice it to say, I’d argue for best and brightest, regardless of where they come from. It only stands to reason that most immigrants would be coming from places that people would prefer to leave. Collectivizing is immoral.
Cheap labor is not a bad thing.
I’ll leave it at that.
Taking the bests interests of the U.S. into account is always a good thing.
Best and brightest includes cheap labor, i.e., people willing to work.
I’ll clarify, collectivizing is immoral, unless they’re Paki’s. I feel like I have to make an exception for that shithole country/culture.
I’m leaning towards a prioritization strategy. While agreeing that collectivism in regards to immigration policy is an evil, the bigger evil is the welfare state and so fighting to lessen its grip would be more effective.
Agreed. Can’t have both.
I wouldn’t automatically exclude people from shithole countries – Ireland was number 1 in that category for a long time.
The question is, are we allowing in people that want liberty and opportunity (i.e. people who are out of place in their shithole country), or just some asshole that was handed a winning ticket (or is a prime example of WHY that country is a shithole)?
The moment has arrived.
All hail the new face of libertarianism!
Big “L” you shitlord.
If he wins his brand will co-opt the small “l” too, especially to nonlibertarians. I assume he has basically no chance?
OT: I finally remembered where “Stinky Wizzleteats” came from, and I can’t get the song out of my head.

I nominate Zardoz as his replacement.
ZARDOZ SPEAKS TO YOU, HIS CHOSEN NOMINATING ONE. HOW FAR WOULD ZARDOZ GET WITH A PLATFORM OF CLEANSING BRUTALS, GRAIN SLAVERY TO SUPPORT THE VORTEX AND GIVING THE GIFT OF THE GUN? NO ASS-SEX, AS THE PENIS IS EVIL! AND AS LONG AS THE GRAIN IS GROWN, WEED IS OK, TOO.
fuck, they almost kicked petersen out over having some problems with the NAP.
I think ZARDOZ would make heads roll.
Compared to fat male strippers and mental patients, I like your odds. Is all about “framing” the message. We can work on the wording.
Dear, Zardoz,
I was watchinga re-run of Rick and Morty last night and had forgotten about your cameo. I’m concerned, though, that you appeared to be helping the Gazorpazorps reproduce.
*trembling, bows before ZARDOZ*
Ass sex isn’t procreation though, so does that really have to be banned?
*scrambles away*
Which part of “penis is evil” is difficult to understand?
This is why we can’t have nice things, like The Gift of The Gun.
I’m just saying it seems like there should be some nuance here. The main problem is procreation, so ass sex should be fine.
I’m going to make signs and protest the talking head until we can have ass sex again!

I finally finished my MOS training today. On leave for 3 weeks until I go to my assignment. About 60 miles outside of San Antonio now, Tomorrow I’m going to visit the Alamo.
Bleh, San Antonio. That’s the mothership for my career field and I’ve never been able to like it.
But it holds a special place in the hearts of all KU fans.

Jan. 11 (UPI) — A Russian man was arrested after stealing an armored personnel carrier from a secured facility and using it to ran his way into a store to take a bottle of wine.
CCTV footage from the store in Apatity shows the man ramming the vehicle, which operates on treads like a tank, into a store’s window before climbing in to take a bottle of wine.

Las Vegas strip club draws in CES crowd with robot strippers
***
Walker said the strippers, which have heads shaped like CCTV cameras, were inspired by the rise of security cameras across Britain, a form of surveillance he related to voyeurism for sexual pleasure.
Walker said that despite being the inventor of the robot strippers, he has reservations about the idea of a sex robot.
“They will invent the sex robot,” Walker told CNBC. “Everyone’s striving to do it. I’ve been approached as well, but I think it’s a really dark area. I’m loath to go there.”
“I didn’t build these to get involved in the sex industry. They weren’t about sex, they were about voyeurism,” he said. “I’ve been dragged into this side of things unintentionally, but I’m not complaining. It does pay the bills. I am a robot pimp in that way.”

Jan. 11 (UPI) — Among adults, a belief in evolution is most closely correlated with a person’s belief system, not education or intelligence. New research shows the opposite is true for children.
When researchers from the University of Bath surveyed and tested 1,200 students aged 14 to 16 in Britain, they found those who accepted evolution were more likely to understand related, but less emotive, scientific subjects like genetics. Non-acceptance was linked with an inability to understand the science of both evolution and genetics.

Jan. 11 (UPI) — Researchers with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History have discovered 18 new species of pelican spider, a group of arachnids that look as absurd as they sound.
…
Their unique anatomy is specifically designed for spider consumption. The spiders use their long, curved pelican-like neck and fang-tipped mouthpieces to quickly impale their victims. The long neck allows the spider to hold its victim away from the rest of its body so as to evade potential counterattacks.

Seems like the NFL should be focusing on winning fans back.
Everyone wanted them to hire Gruden. They wanted to hire Gruden. Why is an interview with someone who wasn’t going to get the job anyway needed?
I remember when the Packers were basically pressured into hiring Ray Rhodes after Holmgren left: they had two black coordinators, and hiring a white guy would have brought a firestorm of criticism.
Rhodes was a disaster, and when they shitcanned him after one season, Hymietown Jackson complained.
On the one hand, I like his style. On the other hand, it probably won’t help.
Senior Pentagon soldier to ISIS: Surrender or get beaten with entrenchment tool
***
The Pentagon’s senior enlisted member has drawn the line against ISIS: “surrender or die!”
In a blunt warning to the remaining ISIS fighters, Army Command Sgt. Maj. John Wayne Troxell said the shrinking band of militants could either surrender to the U.S. military or face death.
“ISIS needs to understand that the Joint Force is on orders to annihilate them,” he wrote in a forceful message on Facebook. “So they have two options, should they decide to come up against the United States, our allies and partners: surrender or die!”
…
Troxell said the U.S.-led military coalition would provide them safety in the form of a detainee cell, food, a bed and due process if they give themselves up.
“However, if they choose not to surrender, then we will kill them with extreme prejudice, whether that be through security force assistance, by dropping bombs on them, shooting them in the face, or beating them to death with our entrenching tools,” he continued. “Regardless, they cannot win, so they need to choose what it’s going to be.”
The post was shared Tuesday evening along with a photo of an entrenchment tool – a collapsible shovel used by the U.S. military. It also included the hashtag #ISIS_SurrenderOrDie.

US Psyops should have 2 messages: tell them how to surrender and assure them they will not be harmed if they do. It should contain threats, taunts, or boasts.
During the Korean War, propaganda leaflets were printed to look like currency. That encouraged people to pick them up.
In Afghanistan, loudspeaker messages would work better as most Taliban are illiterate.
Grossman is a slimeball, but he did make a good point in On Killing about prisoners. He asked a bunch of US soldiers how they should treat Soviet POWs. Some suggested they be used as human shields or used to clear landmines. Grossman called them idiots and said that the Soviets would learn of any mistreatment and then fight far more stubbornly.
During WW2, many US troops pledged to never surrender after they found out about the Malmedy massacre.
They do a LOT via radio in AFG.

You Have to Play This 1,600-Year-Old Viking War Game
***
Viking warriors storm into the torch-lit camp of a rival clan. Outnumbered, the ambushed Norsemen are far from their boats. Their one goal: flee to a nearby castle while keeping their king alive.
At first glance, Hnefatafl (prounounced “nef-ah-tah-fel”) might just look like a knock-off version of chess with Norse helms and impressive beards, but the game is at least 600 years older—already well-known by 400 A.D.—and is perhaps a lot more relevant to the conflicts of the 21st century.
“I love the asymmetry in this game. To win in this game, you absolutely have to think like your opponent,” emails Kristan Wheaton, a former Army foreign area officer and ex-analyst at U.S. European Command’s Intelligence Directorate. “Geography, force structure, force size and objectives are different for the two sides. If you can’t think like your opponent, you can’t win. I don’t know of a better analogy for post-Cold War conflict.”
The game is similar to chess, but with several important differences. Instead of two identical and equal opponents facing each other, Hnefatafl is a game where one side is surrounded and outnumbered—like a Viking war party caught in an ambush.
The game might seem unbalanced. The attacking black player has 24 total pieces—known as “hunns”—to white’s meager and surrounded 12 hunns. But white has several advantages.
White has an additional unique unit, a king, which must be surrounded on four horizontal sides to be captured. Hunns require being surrounded on two sides, and that’s pretty hard by itself. White’s goal is also simple: move the king to one of four corner squares known as “castles.” Black’s goal is to stop them.

So I’m watching “Dope” on Netflix; semi-predictable WoD documentary miniseries. All I can think while watching this is “What an incredible waste of entrepreneurial talent.” Take away the killing and these inner city street pharmacists are brilliant.
Something interesting, if a dealer gets a reputation for causing fatal overdoses, they’ll increase their business by huge amounts. They started using Fentanyl due to it being cheap and as a way to cover up the lower percentages of heroin and more cut so they can stretch their supply. Then people started ODing on it and the addicts started demanding Fentanyl.
Fake news. Thats an urban legend….”people flock to the man that sells the shit that gets you highest”. Outside of the 25% or so of people that simply have given up to their addiction (no citation, but Id say at least 1/4 OD’s are legitimate suicides), nobody is in hurry to die from it. If you’re a user, and you need a fix, you go see a supplier, and in the course of that transaction you roll a die and hope for a 1:3 outcome. Cause 33% of the time what you buy wont get you high, or high enough. 33% of the time, what you buy will kill you. The remainder, you get what you paid for.
Look at that same argument from the perspective of coffee with super caffeine, or Tylenol with bangin-heachache-removal-powers….once the market sees that people are dying in parking lots from that product, they wont use it.
Just repeating what the dealer said on the show. He could be bullshitting though.
Agreed. But I hear that line of reasoning way too often, and it plays into the “addicts are stupid, so they need our help!”.
No, addicts arent stupid; stupid addicts are stupid, in the sense some aggressive, risk-taking, drivers on I-75 when Im trying to get to work are stupid.
Heroin and opiate addiction have been around for a long, long, time. Some of the best music was made by smack-addicts. But its odd to me that it only becomes a “public health crisis” when it starts taking down Jimmy, Susie, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and middle-america wypipo.
Sell a cigarette with awesome levels of nicotine that not only get you buzzed every time, but you also shit your pants outside in the office “smoking-circle”, and see how long the “they want the hard stuff” logic works for your market share.
fun fact: It’s called heroin because the first guy to record using it wrote that it made him feel like a hero.

Hoffmann, working at Bayer pharmaceutical company in Elberfeld, Germany, was instructed by his supervisor Heinrich Dreser to acetylate morphine with the objective of producing codeine, a constituent of the opium poppy, pharmacologically similar to morphine but less potent and less addictive. Instead, the experiment produced an acetylated form of morphine one and a half to two times more potent than morphine itself. The head of Bayer’s research department reputedly coined the drug’s new name, “heroin,” based on the German heroisch, which means “heroic, strong” (from the ancient Greek word “heros, ήρως”). Bayer scientists were not the first to make heroin, but their scientists discovered ways to make it, and Bayer led commercialization of heroin.[74]

My goto thing for drug warriors is that Laudanum was available OTC for decades and the streets were not littered with bodies. Seems to me that what kills people is shitty product, dirty needles, criminalization/incarceration and stigma.
My girlfriend and I were just the other evening, in a Kroger parking lot, in a seedy-er part of SW Ohio. Walking to the car, in the spot adjacent ours, there was an active transaction taking place. While she was somewhat appalled, I said “that is one of the best arguments I can think of for legalization. They’re not handling business, in a dark grocery store parking lot, where my truck door can be dinged.”
Or, in hindsight, if the cops rolled-up, my truck wouldn’t be ventilated, taken as “evidence” co-commitant to the crime scene, and I wouldn’t be in the hospital as collateral damage. Or dead.
Well, why would you lie in the streets when you could lie in an opium den?
The only argument I have found useful against drug warriors is to note that illegal drugs are available in every prison.
If they can’t keep drugs out of *prison* what hope is there for your kids’ school?
Or just go buy Legal weed

Zuley Urdaneta, a 50 year-old vet in Merida, witnessed the looting of a lorry along the highway around 2 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. About two hours later, he said some 800 people converged on a food collection centre and proceeded to plunder it.
“They knocked down the gates and looted flour, rice, cooking oil, cooking gas,” said Urdaneta. “The police and the National Guard tried to control the situation by giving out what was left.”

OT as hell:
I know there are a number of Glibs who lift weights, but I’m not sure what the Venn diagram of Glib weightlifters and Glib hernia repair veterans looks like. If there’s anyone with some overlap there, do you have any advice as to what post-op weightlifting looks like? I’m going in for umbilical hernia repair on the 22nd and I’m concerned about when and how much I’m going to be able to lift afterwards. Not like that week, obviously, but I’ve read horror stories of people doing light deadlifts six months down the line and tearing the repair. I do kettlebell stuff pretty much exclusively and swings are a big part of my routine, so I’m more than a little worried about not being able to progress with that. I’m fine with taking time to heal and all that, I’m just nervous about not being able to progress as far as I’d like, or even not being able to do as much as I do now.
I’ve never had surgery and I’m worried. I basically want to see someone with some experience say, “Yeah, I had a hernia repaired and a year later I’m crushing deadlifts. It’s no big deal.”
Invest in a Total Gym?
I don’t lift anything because I’m astoundingly lazy, but my old roommate had a double hernia repair last year and is back to lifting weights. His were both inguinal hernias, not umbilical, but shouldn’t be too different from a recovery standpoint. I’ll send him an email and forward any tips he gives.
I like the idea of Paleo exercises.
Zulu warriors were strong and tough- without barbells or other fancy exercises.
Drink yourself into keto…acidosous?
The only surgery I ever had was oral surgery. I asked to be sedated, I told them all about my sleep apnea, and they assured me it was all good. So they put me under….and then I wake up in the middle of the surgery while they are cutting into me, I struggled and tried to address them, but they held me down and continued on their way while I watched on in horror. I didn’t piece together until later that due do my apnea my blood pressure had dropped and they brought me out. They never told me this. They didn’t show too much avarice in collecting on that bill…but I’m sure your surgery will go much better.
I remember getting my wisdom teeth getting taken out. My parents said the anesthesia made me much more pleasant than usual. During the recovery, I watched Deliverance, drank a strawberry milkshake, and then threw up said milkshake.
Yeah, the painkillers I was on started the downfall of my business. In one of my lucid moments I warned a business partner I would need to be reminded of an appointment. Then when I forgot, said partner blamed me, drove me there blitzed out of my mind and I did the job. The downfall had begun, not really due to this moment, but everything that came after…maybe for another post.
Damn, i hope you got through that,, Dayum..
What caused the hernia in the first place?
Honestly, it doesn’t really matter. Do what the doctors tell you to do. I’d rather not lift for six months and be fully healed than make it worse just because the internet peanut gallery said I’d be fine after waiting a month.
